Activities
The Science on Stage festival is a platform for the exchange of new ideas and concepts in science teaching. Follow-up-activities ensure the development and sustainable spreading of these ideas and concepts. Follow-up-activities based on the Science on Stage festivals are realised in cooperation with companies and foundations.
Follow-up projects of the education festivals Teacher trainings
Each Science on Stage country organises a workshop or teacher training in their country. They invite teachers from abroad to present their projects from the festival.
Teacher exchange
Teachers who met at the festival can apply for a travel scholar-ship to deepen the exchange or develop a new project together.
Development of teaching materials
Groups of international teachers develop teaching materials together. Results are published and spread Europe-wide; e.g. „iStage – ICT in Science Teaching“.
Activities
22 teachers from 15 countries deleloped teaching materials for ICT in Science Teaching from teachers for teachers.
The brochure includes 11 teaching units for physics, biology or astronomy classes.
Example: Teaching unit „Space Travel“: Why do we have to travel in circles to other planets? Use of ICT-programs Orbiting and Escaping and Solar System Travel in astronomy classes to explain Newton‘s attraction law, Kepler‘s laws, kinetic energy of a gravitational field.
