Youth Confirmation A reminder that confirmation candidates must participate regularly in Youth Ministry for Confirmation program this year. (Those that are in 9th grade of HS). Requirements for Confirmation of teens include regular attendance at Mass (provide a bulletin from the other parish if attended elsewhere) and regular attendance at Youth Ministry. All parents and students inquiring about Confirmation, please send an email to [email protected].
Faith Formation News Faith Formation - This is the last weekend of our Faith Formation classes - Sunday, April 30 and Monday May 1. Our Faith Formation students and catechists helped to raise over $625 to support Operation Rice Bowl. Thanks to Sandy Stoner for helping to lead this effort. Congratulations to all who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation last weekend for the first time. Over the upcoming weekend, young people will be receiving their First Communion during our weekend masses. Please make sure to help them celebrate their deeper participation in our Mass. Faith Formation will conclude with a closing liturgy at 10am on Sunday May 7.
Vacation Bible School: Please reserve the week of July 24 – 28. Activities will be scheduled for the early evening this year.

Dear Resurrection of Our Lord Parish,
Thank you all so much for my time here at Resurrection, for
being my parish family as a seminarian over the past few
years. It truly was a time of joy and learning: I felt
welcomed, loved, encouraged, and positively challenged to
grow as a better minister and member of the body of
Christ. Resurrection was home. I will truly miss you as I
move back to and am ordained for the Diocese
of Richmond, VA. Please know that you are all
welcome to come to my Priestly Ordination
and first Mass of Thanksgiving. And if you
cannot make it, I plan to say a bi-lingual Mass
of Thanksgiving, here, at Resurrection on June
17th
at 4pm. Everyone is welcome!

Estimada Parroquia de Resurrección de Nuestro Señor,
Muchas gracias a todos por mi tiempo aquí en
Resurrección, por ser mi familia parroquial como
seminarista en los últimos años. Realmente fue un
momento de alegría y aprendizaje: me sentí bienvenida,
amado, animado y positivamente desafiados para crecer
como mejor Ministro y miembro del Cuerpo de Cristo.
Resurrección es una casa. Verdaderamente les extrañare
mientras vuelvo y soy ordenado en la Diócesis de
Richmond, Virginia. Por favor, sepan que ustedes son
todos bienvenidos a mi ordenación sacerdotal y
primera Misa de Acción de Gracias. Y si no puede
hacerlo, voy a decir una Misa bilingüe de Acción de

Baptism: Parents are expected to attend preparation classes and be registered, active members of the community. To make necessary arrangements, please call 410-792-7982.
Matrimony: Couples planning to be married should contact the parish office at least 6 months before the planned date of their wedding. All engaged couples are expected to take a Marriage Preparation Course.
Ministry to the Sick: Please call the parish office to advise us of the illness or hospitalization of a family member, friend or parishioner. In emergencies, when our parish office is closed, please dial extension 8 and leave a message.
Sacraments
Bautismo: El sacramento del Bautismo se celebra fuera de la
Misa. Los padres necesitan estar registrados en la parroquia y
asistir al curso de preparación para Bautismo, llame al 410-792-

Matrimonio: Las parejas que planean casarse deben contactar la

Help Needed! The Laurel Main Street Festival is coming up
May 13th, and there’s a lot of preliminary work to be done.
We’ll give away bags with items about Resurrection, so we
need folks to put the items together and stuff the bags
Wednesday, May 3rd at 6:30pm in the Magdalene Room. On
May 13th, we need folks to put up the tent and man
the booth for 2-hour shifts. If you’d like to help,
please contact Jim Gordon at [email protected]
or call 301-919-1311. Thanks in advance to all who
help out. Many hands make light work!
Resurrection needs your help for our booth at the Main
Street Festival. The City of Laurel now requires that all
vendors use flame-retardant canopies. If you can donate or
loan a canopy to us, please contact the parish office.
Please remember to bring back your Lent
Offering Box. All collections will be given to
Catholic Relief Services —Operation Rice Bowl.
MEMORIAL CANDLES - INTENTIONS FOR ONE YEAR
You have an opportunity to light a Memorial Candle with the
name of your loved one. The Memorial Candle of your choice
will include a small plaque with the name of your “Loved One”
or “Special Intention”, mounted in front of the candle.
Plaques will remain on display for one year and may be
renewed or rededicated for an additional
annual fee.
The Memorial Candles are at each of our
Devotional Candle Stands. Each Candle is
made of real wax with electrified illumination
to ensure your Memorial Candle burns brightly all day and
night. There are a limited number of Memorial Candles so if
you would like to reserve one please call the office, or fill out
a form and return it along with payment (in the lobby).

Night of Prayers Each Month we have our Night of Prayers. Want to know more about it? We gather together as a parish family the 1st Saturday of each month at 6pm and enter in night prayers, the same prayers that have been said for centuries in the church. While doing this, we also are in a Holy Hour. The Blessed Sacrament (The Eucharist) is exposed through Adoration. We also take time for some worship songs and reflections. Afterwards, the Divine Renovation team usually meets to talk about the upcoming month's goals for missionary disciples. All are invited to attend - hear shared stories about God's great work in other’s lives and offer up petitions for prayers and needs. We are looking for musicians, AV techs or those wanting to learn and those wanting to support and learn more about adoration. Are you interested in helping with sound and video equipment or leading prayers and praise at the Night of Prayer? Let us know so we can include you in this developing ministry.
Bible Study continues! Bible Study Resumes May 3, Wednesdays after morning Mass. We will be looking at Psalm 27 thru 31. Because the Psalms were written throughout the History of Israel, they are a great record of salvation history. Come and find out why.
RCIA Got Questions? Want to know why we do what we do? God has answers! The best place to find answers is serving in the church. Contact us to find out how you can support this wonderful and rewarding ministry. Please contact Shaun in the office to schedule a short tour and introduction of the church before looking at formation. We need help from parishioners to support, pray and be with our new candidates as they walk on this journey. No degree or teaching experience is needed, just a willing heart and a passion for serving the Lord - English and Spanish speakers are needed. Welcome Catechumen and Candidates: Did you notice all the rich symbolism of the Masses? Celebrating these rites with our candidates truly shows us that Jesus has Risen! Let us continue to pray for them as they are now fully a part of the Church. Please reach out to them and welcome them to the community. At the Easter Vigil, Ester Espana and Brian Sweeney were
received into the Catholic church. Last weekend at the 12pm Mass, Jacqueline Alfaro,
Jacqueline Fuentes, Edilfredo Gomez, Javier Ramirez, and Blanca Zelaya were brought into full communion of the Church.

May 20th, LARS is proud to be partnering with First Generation College Bound for a 5K to kick off Laurel High
School’s Community Day! The 5K run and 1 mile walk will
follow the same route as LARS’ past events. We are excited
to be sharing this fun day with FGCB, a great local organization making college access and success a reality for
low-income students in Laurel. All proceeds from this joint
fundraiser will be split between LARS and FGCB to help
advance our shared vision for the Laurel community: a place where everyone has the support they need to rise

enrichment, support, or structure to your week? Academia Bedae Cooperativa (St. Bede’s Academic Cooperative) is a
Catholic, classical homeschool program run and taught
exclusively by parent volunteers. St. Bede's meets Tuesday

Community News El 20 de mayo, LARS esta orgulloso de asociarse con la Primera Generación Rumbo al Colegio para la carrera de 5K iniciando el Día de la comunidad de la escuela secundaria de Laurel! La carrera de 5K y una milla caminando seguirá la misma ruta de eventos del pasado de LARS. Estamos muy contentos de este divertido día con FGCB, una gran organización, hacer realidad el acceso a la universidad y el éxito para estudiantes de bajos recursos en Laurel. Todas las ganancias de este evento conjunto se dividirá entre LARS y FGCB para ayudar a avanzar en nuestra visión compartida de la comunidad de Laurel: un lugar donde todo el mundo cuenta con el apoyo que necesitan para elevarse por encima de circunstancias difíciles. The English Basic Skills Courses are for students who are just
beginning to study English. These classes integrate listening,
speaking, reading and writing skills. Students develop English
language skills for everyday life. Most classes begin April 10.
A grant from the state of Maryland allows the college to offer
English Basic Skills courses at no cost to students who reside in
