िडझाईनर हणून केले या ६० िच हातून आज गे या जवजवळ प नास वषार्ंनी यातील

कोणती न या िपढी या पसंतीस उतरतात हे पाहणे यामुळे यातील कलातीता कोण या

िच हांना िमळाली हे कळेल हा हेतू या प्रयोगाचा आहे. थोडक्यात यां या कामाचा

आज या काळाशी रािहलेले नाते. याकिरता मी “एकोल इनिट युट याब” िह पॅिरस-

फ्रा स या भारतातील ग्रािफक िडझाईन सं थे या मोनाझ का तुज िह िव यािथर्नीची

मदत घेतली. याकिरता यांची मुख्य प्रा यािपका जिमला वारावाला याचं सहकायर्

िमळाले. तसेच मी पुणे येथील जगप्रिस ध “िस बोयसीस इन टी यूट ऑफ िडझाईन”

मधील तैवान देशातील िव यािथर् याचंी मदत तेथील मुख्य प्रा यापक प्रशातं आचायार्ंनी

िमळवून िदली. िशवाय मी वतःच संपूणर् ६० िच हाचा ककले या शा त्रीय प धतीने

व िचिक सकपणे अ यास केला. हे सवर् रॉबी िडिस वा या कामाच ेममर् जाणून घेत पुढे

The Gist of the Marathi Introduction

“60” Graphic Symbols created by Dr. ROBY D’ SILVA during 1959 to 1967 were tested  with intentions to check its relevance in today's context after nearly fifty years.                                                          I am aware of its limitations  as researcher and student of Communication/Graphic Design.                              The students to whom they  were given did not know Dr. ROBY D’ SILVA.                                                       It means  this was unbiased to view his work and choose from the total “60” graphics. I was given a full co‐operation to conduct this exercise from my former colleague  Prof. Mrs. Jamilla Varawallawho is heading Paris based graphic design institute  called “ecole intute lab” conducting their graphic design education programmes., Ms. Monaz Katila a final year student of “ecole intuit lab", she chose 5 symbols and gave me its visual analysis based on the theory of Wucius Wong that I had prescribed. The second version was from my another former colleague Prof. Prashant Acharya who is now Sr. faculty of Symbiosis Institute of Design an International Graphic Design Institute ‐ Pune, who’s student  from final yr. batch GRAPHIC DESIGN, he is a Thai student from Thailand. This student too applied visual analysis based on the theory of Wucius Wong that I had prescribed.       He chose 10 symbols. My former colleague Prof. Mrs. Jamilla Varawalla was gracious enough to give her instant choice of 11 symbols from the “60”  lot.                                                                                                     This is research, I am doing to help Mrs. Veena Gavankar the famous Marathi literary personality who is working the biography of Dr. ROBY D’ SILVA.  I thanks both my former colleagues for their  full co‐operation. Dr. ROBY D’ SILVA  a pioneer of  graphic design practice in India.
