Kasegaon Education Society is one of the leading educational organisations in the Western Maharashtra. It was established in 1945 by Late Shri. Rajarambapu Patil, the leading statesman. Considering the need of time, the Society focused its attention on taking the education to the threshold of the rural masses. The Society started schools in the nearby villages and a hostel for backward class students at Kasegaon. After the untimely and sad demise of Shri. Rajarambapu Patil in 1984, it was Shri. Jayant Patil, his son, who alike his father entered his public life through educational activities. He shouldered the responsibility of Kasegaon Education Society. Shri. Jayant Patil took the Society with time, diversifying its educational facilities. Today the Society has 31 primary & secondary schools and 15 higher educational institutes under its roof. This includes mainly three arts, commerce & science colleges, two information technology institutes, an engineering college, a polytechnic, two management institutes, a nursing institute, a agricultural polytechnic, a pharmacy college and an international school. The Society has been conferred with prestigious award like 'Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Dalitmitra Puraskar', 'State Award for Educational Institutes'. Certificates of appreciation have been also awarded to the Society by C-DAC & MKCL for its exemplary contribution towards computer literacy. Rajarambapu Institute of Technology established in 1983 has proved to be a landmark development of the Society as well as an instrument for expanse of its horizon.

You will find everything at RIT, focused on our Quality Policy of imparting quality education to students and to lead in technical education through involvement & empowerment of our faculty with the ultimate aim of student satisfaction.

We realize that we have to transform XII class student into a professional engineer within a period of four formative years. We ensure that students should gain not just technical knowledge but also a holistic set of skills that will equip them to face the real world. Faculty-members guide and monitor students by participating in their academic, research, sports & cultural pursuits. We want our students to be committed, dedicated to their goals along with integrity and concern for the environment and rural society they live in.

Institute is successfully running academic autonomy awarded by UGC and Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Introduction of changes in curriculum and timely revisions in it as per the needs of advancement and changing scenario of industry resulted in satisfaction and enjoyment at both students and teachers end. We insist that our faculty should continuously upgrade to provide direction for future teaching-learning innovations. RIT has consistently produced excellent results and its alumni can be found in distinguished organizations in India & overseas.

We have continuous interaction with Industry through in plant training and live industry based projects. Institute is funded under World Bank Project named ‘Technical Education Quality Improvement Program’ (TEQIP II) with Rs. 4 crore for PG Programmes and Research driven by innovation. Innovative activities like QEEE live classes, a Direct to Student Program through webinars by highly rated IIT professors are being arranged throughout the academic year. Inspired by the thoughts of Vigyan Ashram, PABAL, our students initiated RIT SPEED an official wing of Community and Social Responsibility (CSR). Through this our students give engineering and technological solutions to the problems in the society. Our most of the programmes are accredited and reaccredited by NBA, AICTE, New Delhi. In a nutshell, we believe in -'Make no little plans, they have no magic to stir men's blood; make big plans, aim high in hope and work'. We are constantly innovating and never standing still. If these are values you believe in too, you will do well at RIT. If you have the drive and determination, come to RIT and we will help you realise your dreams!

There exists a wide gap between the expectations of industry from engineering graduates and the

knowledge, skills and competency the students possess leading to reduced employability. RIT being an

autonomous institute is sensitive to this issue and proactive in bridging the gap through interaction with

industries and professional organizations. RIT is accorded the status of academic autonomy from the year

2011-12, which we look towards as great opportunity to design and implement curriculum sensitive to needs

of Business and Industries, introduce innovative evaluation system to make students learn they are expected

to learn (learning outcomes). The RIT model of Autonomy focuses on “Experiential learning which believes in

learning by doing. This is achieved through hands on experience, industrial assignments mini projects and

live problem solving. RIT proactively embraced Outcome Based Education (OBE) to prepare students for

careers that demand high level of competencies. RIT set in to dynamics of transformation and witnessing a

shift in focus from teaching to learning and entire academic system of RIT is designed to provide multiple

learning opportunities for students to acquire and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and competencies for

rewarding career.

Special features of RIT Academic Systemsl Transformation of teaching methodology from traditional lecture mode to creating different learning opportunities to address various

learning styles of students.

l Curriculum design with the judicious mix of theory, laboratory work, mini projects, tutorials, industrial visit and field assignments.

l Institutional level open electives are being introduced which gives a student to study the course of his choice from different disciplines.

l Self study courses are introduced to prepare students for lifelong learning

l Professional skill development as a part of curriculum to develop the all-round personality of students

l The assessment scheme is designed to evaluate students learning and linked to attainment of PO’s and Co’s.

l Series of innovative assessment techniques have been introduced like in semester evaluation (ISE) 20%, mid-semester (30%) and End Semester evaluation (50%).

l RIT is practicing Absolute Grading System for student evaluation and required to earn the total credits specified for the program to earn the degree.

l RIT with its association with industry helps to imbibe the employment skills and prepare students industry ready.

l Every Student is given a special training in specified software to acquire employability skills.

l Academic Audit system to capture the class room dynamics.

An autonomous RIT believes in potential and capability of each student and extends the multiple learning opportunities to make him an engineer rather than just Engineering Graduate. Our efforts are always in the direction to develop an overall personality of students with ethical and moral values to make them a competent technical manpower for employment and self employment. We always hope and look forward for joyful learning experience for students and RIT should be the first Choice for both students who value learning as an experience and also faculty who have a passion to create a great learning environment.

A lot of apprehension is underlying the apparent enthusiasm when an engineering student enters the campus. He finds himself in an entirely new atmosphere undergoing quite a different kind of education and learning experiences. Looking at the transformation that students undergo after

ththeir intermediate / XII , the Department focuses its efforts on bridging the gap between their status and the required competencies of an engineering student.
