What is RRVISION ?

•The noun revision has three senses:

i. The act or work of revising.ii. process of revising.iii.revised form or version, as of a

book.

General goals of revision:A. Revision helps students to have a specific

perspective about the subject.B. It reduces the time of studying.C. It clarifies the unclear points.D. It confirm the information in student`s mind.E. It provides them with pedagogical values.

Types of revision:

•Revision of a lesson•Revision of a unit•Revision of a level

How to conduct a Revision lesson

When you approach a revision lesson, you’ve to consider the following:• Revision lesson is like any lesson, it has its procedures

and phases.• Let students work with each other• Stick yourself to your objectives.• Try to vary your procedures. • Avoid testing.• Focus on homework.• Treat with revision activities as if it is SB or WB activities.

What do these revision units revise?

They revise language skills ( writing- reading- listening- and

speaking. )They also revise language items like vocabulary and grammar.

3rd Grade:

4th Grade

The values of the revision units:

•Recalling the four language skills ( writing- speaking- listening- and reading ) .

•Revising the language items ( vocabulary- grammar)

The practice tests:These tests are available in the WB. Each WB has two practice tests .

7th-10th grade:They include 4 parts 1-reading and language.2- Listening3- Speaking4- Writing

7th Grade

11th and 12th grade:

2 practice tests ( 2 papers ) 1st one : Speaking- listening- vocabulary- and language.

2nd one:Reading – writing – and literature.

Revision Tasks:• The revision tasks are given to SS. within

the revision units.

• It can be a writing task, speaking task, reading task, or listening task.

8th and 9th grade

The pedagogical values of revision tasks:•Revise language items :

- Recalling all the previous vocabulary.- Revising the grammar rules.
