ADMISSION NOTIFICATION FOR POST GRADUATE COURSES in the Academic Year: 2020-2021

Online applications are invited for admission to the BENGALI, ENGLISH, HISTORY

AND COMMERCE for the academic session 2020-21. To fill up the application form for PG, the candidates have to enter the website www.pinglacollege.ac.in

A menu “PG Admission” under green shade you will find there in the top right corner where you have to click to

know the details of PG Admission. The menu “PG Admission” looks like below.

After clicking that pg admission menu from our website www.pinglacollege.ac.in

And after successful completion of all the necessary steps (e.g. filling up the personal details, academic details, uploading

photo, signature, caste certificate and others) through online, the candidate can download the form for admission.

Documents to be uploaded at the time of application

1. Scanned Signature and recent colour passport size photograph [10KB-100KB each, JPG]

2. Age proof document (Birth certificate/Admit card of Madhyamik or10th class examination showing date of birth/etc.) –

[100KB-300KB, JPG/PDF]

3. Marksheet (scan copy) of Madhyamik or 10th examination [100KB-300KB, JPG/PDF].

4. Marksheet (scan copy) of Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination [100KB-300KB, JPG/PDF].

5.All available Marksheets (scan copy) of UG (Hons) in a single PDF file [within 750KB] in proper sequence.

6. Reservation (SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B) certificate (as applicable) [100KB-300KB, PDF]

9. Differently-abled certificate (as applicable) [100KB-300KB, PDF]

10. Registration Certificate (Compulsory for 80% quota) [ 100KB-300KB,PDF]

The application form duly signed in along with other required copies will be verified physically afterwards. Notification of

physical verification will be made later on. if any documents are found false at any stage, then the candidature of that

candidate will be liable to be cancelled, even after admission. Fees for form fill up are exempted following Govt.

notification. Admission fees paid during admission may be returned on cancellation of admission only on application

submitted in person at college office within one month of admission fee paid. Any application made for return of fees after

one month of cancellation will not be entertained.

5% of each category will be reserved for differently-abled candidates. Merit list will be prepared on the percentage of disability. In case of non-availability of differently-abled candidate, the seat reserved for differently-abled candidates of the particular category will be converted to that Category only. 1% of total seats of all PG courses are reserved as Sports/ Culture quota. Prize holders at International/National/State representation in the last two years will be considered for Sports Quota provided that he/she has participated in the Inter College Competition/ Inter College Athletic Meet organized by our university in his/her tenure in UG level. The sports events are Football, Volleyball, Athletic, Yoga, Khokho, Kabadi, Chess and Table Tennis. A committee will be constituted to assess the performance of the applicants in the respective field. Prize holders in the International/National/State meets in the last two years will be considered for Cultural Quota provided that h e/she has participated in the Inter College Cultural Competition organized by our university in his/her tenure in UG level. SELECTION PROCESS FOR ADMISSION:

Eligibility Criteria:

For M.A. in Bengali, English and History: Eligibility is B.A. Honours qualified in the concerned subject

For M.Com in Commerce: Eligibility is Honours qualified in Commerce / Accountancy/ Marketing / BBA

Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit.

1. The admission of the 80% category ( 80% of total seats following Govt. reservation rules) students, i.e Vidyasagar University students, the merit list will be prepared in the following manner. (a) UG (Hons) final percentage of marks (Part-I, Part-II & Part-III taking together) in case of annual system. OR (b) UG (Hons) equivalent percentage of marks converted from CGPA, in case of semester (CBCS) system. In case of a tie, marks obtained in the immediately preceding Examinations are to be considered for ranking.

2. For the admission of the 20% category students (open to all, including students of Vidyasagar University & autonomous college(s) affiliated to Vidyasagar University), the merit list will be prepared in the following manner. (a) UG (Hons) final percentage of marks (Part-I, Part-II & Part-III taking together) in case of annual system. OR (b) UG (Hons) equivalent percentage of marks converted from CGPA, in case of semester (CBCS) system. In case of a tie, marks obtained in the immediately preceding Examinations are to be considered for ranking.

Documents have to be brought during verification:

1. Print out of online filled in application form.

2. Self attested photo copies of all the Mark sheets of Examinations passed (from 10+ examination), University Registration

Certificate and three copies of Passport Size coloured photographs.

3. Self attested photo copy of the Admit Card/ Certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent as evidence of the date of birth.

4. Self attested photo copy of SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/Persons with Disability (PwD) certificate issued by the appropriate

authority for the candidates of reserved categories.

5. Self attested photo copies of the Certificate of Games & Sports/ Cultural Competition (International/ National/ State in the

last two years).

6. Migration Certificate (for other university candidates only) must be submitted within one month from the date of admission.

Application form, if not properly filled in and not accompanied with attested copies of the documents as stated above, is

liable to be cancelled.

All candidates are required to produce all original Certificates, Mark Sheets and testimonials during physical verification.

N.B.: If at any stage, it is found that a candidate has concealed, suppressed or distorted any information/fact, in

application form, his/her admission will be cancelled.
