RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED

At Florida State University, we know learning isn’t limited to the school year. Unique summer experiences enhance

education far beyond the classroom, and we ensure our students have access to opportunities

like these to support their growth.

We help our students find their voice, transform, lead and become the best version of themselves.

But we don’t do this alone. Your support is needed so that every Seminole who has the passion to do great things has

the opportunity to make them happen.

VISIT FOUNDATION.FSU.EDU/SUMMER TO READ MORE ABOUT OUR STUDENTS’ SUMMER EXPERIENCES IN THEIR OWN WORDS.

Thank you for your support of Florida State University!

“…tackled real-world business problems a t an internship with Lockheed Martin, which will be invaluable as I pursue my MBA.”

“…got a head start on my success by arriving to campus early and getting acclima ted to Florida Sta te through the CARE program.”

“…worked side-by-side with practicing community physicians in underserved areas as part of the FSU College of Medicine’s summer clinical practicum.”

“…traveled for the first time abroad to Peru educa ting children with special abilities from low-income areas as part of the FSU Global Scholars program.”

Karina AmalbertSophomore | Kissimmee, Fla.

Karina Amalbert, a first-generation college student, traveled to Peru and worked with special-needs children in the Andes. Amalbert considers the experience to be life changing, “I stand a little taller now thanks to this experience,” she explained.

Ahmad DaraldikFreshman | Tallahassee, Fla.

Participating in the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement’s Summer Bridge Program, first-generation college student Ahmad Daraldik eased his way into an otherwise often-hectic college life. By arriving on campus before the fall semester, Daraldik got the opportunity to “get a feel for the campus, make connections, and through CARE, meet some amazing people I believe will be lifelong friends.”

Ashley ManganSenior | Orlando, Fla.

A finance major and business analytics minor, Ashley Mangan was looking for an experience that would both utilize her skills and present new learning opportunities. She was pleased to find exactly that with an internship at Lockheed Martin. Mangan said her time with the organization allowed her “to learn and grow in ways I never thought possible,” and “will carry over into classes and beyond school.”

Cortez BrownSecond-Year Medical Student | Vero Beach, Fla.

For three weeks this summer, Cortez Brown called Immokalee, Fla., “home” while participating in a summer clinical practicum that “exposed me to what the life of a physician serving the underserved holds.” The passion of his teaching physician inspired Brown to expand upon his own work ethic and “ … led me to come home after a day at the clinic and pour over the high volume diseases and conditions I will most likely encounter the next day.”
