My primary responsibility was 24/7 support of production Retirement Plan Services web-based applications, associated data stores, batch processes (running on the IBM mainframe, Unix servers, and NT servers), and vendor interfaces. Support included platform upgrades, database upgrades, application enhancements, data access management and query tuning, vendor upgrades, and help desk support.

Highlights: Production SupportThe following lists projects while serving as Senior Systems Consultant at T Rowe Price Associates. I was responsible for all phases of project management (requirements, design, coding, unit and system tests, quality assurance tests, and production implementation) as project lead and developer. I was nominated and accepted as Associate Vice-President in February 2009.

Trade Manager/Position Manager – Delta Data SoftwareVendor software deployed on Windows Desktops and NT servers (client/server app) that processes trade activity, stores the trades in an Oracle database, sends trades to the trade National Securities Clearing Corporation for processing, and receives trade confirmations back from the NSCC.

June 2013 – Served as project lead tasked with Oracle11g upgrade. Worked with DBA to set up DEV, QA, and PROD environments. Modified all property files and NT scripts to point to new instance of Oracle11g database, NT servers, execute batch processes, and output log files. Modified all mainframe jobs (JCL/NDM/Outbound) to transfer file to new NT servers.

February 2013 – Served as project lead tasked with implementing version upgrades required for Oracle11g. Modified COBOL trade extracts to accommodate data format changes and JCL to update record lengths and block sizes. Modified all mainframe jobs (JCL/NDM/Outbound) to

transfer file to new directories on existing NT servers. Conducted tests with the National Securities Clearing Corp. Modified all property files and NT scripts to point to new instance of Oracle11g database and new NT servers. Modified NT scripts to enhance logging/reporting information.

Retirement Plan MeterRetirement Forecasting Application running on WebSphere Application Servers developed in-house.

December 2012 - Oracle 11g Upgrade – worked with Oracle DBA to create DEV, QA, and PROD environments for database upgrade from Oracle9i to Oracle11g.

November 2011 - created PL/SQL stored-procedure to read in CSV spreadsheet to update Oracle11g database to update/insert retirement account type (401k, 403b. 457b. etc.) annual contribution limits. Created NT shell scripts to execute stored procedures to update load/update year-end contribution limits.

Client Profitability SystemsClient Profitability is a suite of application developed in-house to take in data feeds from OmniPlus to support Retirement Plan Services (401K management) applications such as Client Billing, Client Plan Relationship, Time Tracker, and Client Profitability.

July 2012 - Time Tracker – this application captures time spent servicing client by relationship managers by hours or percentage of day. Revamped application to remove percentage of work day to hours only as WebSphere6 application coded in Java, JavaScript, EJBs, JSP, HTML, and XML.

Quarterly Rollup 2001 to 2013 - Supported and maintained mainframe COBOL/DB2 batch (JCL) process that gathered Time Tracking and financial data to determine profitability patterns of clients. Input included CSV flat files and DB2 feeds from OmniPlus to build data warehouse. Analytical reports are generated via Business Objects from data warehouse.

May 2005 - Client Plan Relationship – Converted from Visual Basic client server application to WebSphere3 coded in Java, JavaScript, EJBs, JSP, HTML, and XML.

WebSphere and DB2 Upgrades – Over the course of several years, our team was assigned with WebSphere 3 to 5, WebSphere 5 to 6, and DB2 upgrades for over 100 web –based applications. Each team member was responsible for project rebuilds and environment set-ups. We averaged approximately 30 applications each.

April 2011 - WebShere5 to WebSpehre5 to 6 upgrade January 2011 – DB2 Upgrade March 2008 – WebSphere3 to WebSphere5 Upgrade

Reconciliation Systems – CLINT and AgencyThis is a double entry general ledger application. Initially developed in C++ and was converted to a J2EE web-based application (WebSphere5) with transactional feeds from Sungard’s retirement recordkeeping system residing on IBM Mainframe.

May 2010 – Worked with DBAs to upgrade database to Oracle10g in DEV, QA, and PROD environments.

February 2006 - Modified OmniPlus feeds coded in COBOL due to changes in file layouts, JCL, and file transfer sysin statements to new Unix servers (NDM).

June 2005 - Created stored procedure to archive data in Oracle database using PL/SQL.

RPS PricingThis suite of applications is used to valuate 401K portfolios: stock, mutual fund, and exchange rates (for valuation stocks and funds traded in foreign markets). It is comprised of vendor interfaces to US exchanges via Reuters/Thompson, the Pricing Front-End a web-based application used to associate tickers to OmniPlus investment vehicle codes, and mainframe batch processes to update DB2 pricing tables, and mainframe batch processes to create data feeds to the OmniPlus price plan.

March 2005 – Worked with the DataScope software vendor Reuters to upgrade their pricing software (formerly DataLink) and implemented those changes at T Rowe Price for RPS pricing. This included modifying all mainframe COBOL programs and Jobs due to file layout changes and NT server locations. Recognized by Reuters Management for assisting with their development efforts.

October 2004 – Upgrade Pricing-Front End to WebSphere3 application using in Java, JavaScript, EJBs, JSP, HTML, and XML running on Unix WebSphere application servers. This was a VB application running on Entera servers.

May 2004 – OmniPlus IV code expansion. Prior to 2004, the investment vehicle codes were stored as 2 bytes at TRP. Due to the number of funds, stocks, and bonds we had to expand the IV codes to 4 bytes. This affected the VB pricing front-end application, DB2 tables, and all mainframe COBOL programs and associated batch processes. I modified all Pricing froned-end components in VB/DB2 and related mainframe batch processes in COBOL/DB2 and JCL.

Financial ServicesThis suite of applications was developed in Visual Basic (desktop), Entera Servers (C++) running on Unix platform to interface with D2 data sources. October 2003 - Client/Plan Relationship – developed application to allow 401K plans to fall

under one client to facilitate plan options for companies offering differing benefit packages to its employees.

May 2003 - Time Tracker – developed Time Tracking application for Client Service Managers recordkeeping. Time spent with Retirement Plan clients captured in either percentage of a day or in actual minutes servicing clients used for Client Profitability analysis.

September 2002 – Client Billing – this was a team effort where my role was to develop 2 of the 8 input screens written in Visual Basic,

OmniPlus Extracts – Core and DSS Warehouse Support December 1998 to January 2003 - In-house development of Core and Warehouse extract from

OmniPlus VSAM files to DB2. These are series of COBOL programs and batch processes supported by JCL, JCL procedures, IDCAMS, syncsort, and DB2 utilities to extract and load data into CORE and Warehouse DB2 tables. CORE supported Web and Client Server customer support applications; Warehouse supported business object reporting for Financial Services. Performed numerous Y2K program conversions on IBM Mainframe in COBOL/DB2/VSAM.
