Effective images

I think that this image is effective because it looks like the person is trying to escape from something but is being held back by a wall. Also because its not the full image of someone but is blurred, it gives the page that creepier look because you feel like they are reaching out to you for help. The way the mouth is open also works well because it links with the horror theme, as in horror themes people are usually shouting for help from others and this could be portraying this. The way the picture has been done almost seems as if it is foreshadowing what is going to happen in the film and it becomes apparent that a person is going to need help because they are in trouble.

I think that this image is effective because it’s a mask and it looks like its actually ‘screaming’ which links in with the name of the film. It also shows that somebody is going to be ‘screaming’ for help in the film so could be foreshadowing this. Also the use of the mask being white stands out on the page and makes it look simple. The way the mask is makes it more easier for a person to remember the mask when they hear the name of the film and they can make the apparent link. The expression on the face of the mask looks effective because it shows scare and fright. This links in excellently with the genre.

I like this image because of the effect that has been put on it. Number one being how the image looks faint and looks like someone is sticking out their tongue. I think the way the images that have been taken from the film are in the face of the image looks excellent because it foreshadows what is going to happen briefly and it allows for the imagination to wonder what is actually going to happen. The use of the face being white also stands out on the background and the expression makes the image instantly link in with the horror genre. This will be something I will take into mind when it comes to designing my own front cover.
