Introduction
Upon graduating from Clemson University I plan
to pursue a career in medical sales. I find this profession to be a perfect fit for the type of job that matches my interests and
strengths. This is an intriguing profession in
which I posses many necessary attributes to be
successful.

What is Medical Sales?
A medical sales representative is a key link between medical and pharmaceutical
companies and healthcare professionals. They sell their company’s products, which
may include medicines, prescriptions, medical devices, and more. They work to
increase awareness and sell their companies products.
Medical Sales Work Environment
They spend business days educating health care personnel, physicians, and clients in hopes of increasing visibility and usage of their product. In the event that the health
care provider is already using their product the sales rep will work diligently to maintain
that relationship. On weekends they may at conferences and continuing education events where they can
gain more knowledge on upcoming devices or develop contacts for future sales.
Medical Sales Locations
A medical sales representative is typically based around a specific geographical location that their specialization in a particular product is located.
It depends highly on which company you work for and the territory they cover in that specific area.

Arranging appointments and conferences with doctors, pharmacists, and hospital medical teams
Making informational and persuasive presentations to doctors and health care professionals about your company’s products
Building and maintaining strong and trustworthy relationships with doctors, clients, and other relevant health care personnel

Conclusion
I have been searching for a profession that I can be passionate about, challenge myself, have interest
in, and be substantially compensated for, for a very long time and it excites me to have found medical
sales. I am confident that I am capable of becoming a successful medical sales representative. I am
eager to pursue a career in the medical field with a passion to help others, while immersing myself in a
sales position. My competitive, inquisitive, and personable traits will make me a competitive
candidate for this profession.
