• Article 1- AUTHORIZATION

• Section 1: Only schools, colleges and universities duly authorized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) shall operate teacher education programs.

Section 2. All curricular programs in teacher education must have proper authorization from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) prior to the offering of such program.

ARTICLE II- MISSION STATEMENT

The main concern of teacher education is the

preparation of globally competitive teacher who are

imbued with the ideals, aspirations and traditions of

Philippine life and are sufficiently equipped with

pedagogical knowledge and skills.

Teacher education programs are expected to produce teachers who assume the following major roles:

• Effective synthesizer of organized knowledge to allow analytical and critical thinking;

• Efficient promoter and facilitator of learning to enable the learners to develop to the fullest of their potential for a continuing pursuit of self-education; and

• Committed humanist whose clear understanding and appreciation of ideals and values inspire learners to reach greater heights and aspirations

ARTICLE I -STATEMENT OF POLICY

Section 1. All programs in Business and Management Education to be offered by higher education institutions (HEIs) shall be established in accordance with law and shall be subject to reasonable supervision by the commission in accordance with this memorandum

ARTICLE II- MISSION STATEMENT AND OBJECTIVES

Section 2. The programs under the Business and Management are designed to enable the students to;

2.1. Have a common foundation of knowledge through a core cluster of general and business courses.

2.2. Have a sufficient exposure to real work environment;

2.3. Gain skills for self-or corporate employee;

2.4. Acquire ethical values and possess a thorough understanding and appreciation of corporate social responsibility.

Section 3. The mission and objectives of school’s program should be clearly stated in its catalogues and other information materials. There should be a periodic assessment of the mission and objectives.

MARITIME MARITIME EDUCATIONEDUCATION

CHED MEMORANDUM NO. 51 S. 1997

POLICIES, STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR MARITIME EDUCATION

• Section 1.These Policies, Standards

and Guidelines for Maritime Education

shall apply to the following courses:

• 1.1. Bachelor of Science in Marine

Transportation (BSMT)

• 1.2. Bachelor of Science in Marine

Engineering(BSMarE)

Article 1. AUTHORIZATION

ARTICLE II- MISSION STATEMENT

Section 3. The Maritime Education program shall aim to produce graduates whose knowledge, skills and attitudes are sufficient to comply with the requirements of STCW 78 as amended in 1995 and such other international laws and conventions, commerce and pursue a professional career or advanced studies in any maritime field of specialization

Section 4. The Maritime Education

program shall aim to equip the students

with the knowledge of the trade, ethics

and discipline necessary to the particular

professional values and the national

identity in general.
