REPORT OF A FIELD MEETING ATPLUMSTEAD AND BOSTALL HEATH.
SATURDAY, JULY rjth, 1929.

THE party, numbering in all 27 (21 members with 6 visitors},met at Plumstead Station at 2.30 p.m. and went first to Messrs.Tuff and Hoar's sandpit (Thanet, Woolwich and. BlackheathBeds) in King's Highway;' thence to the sections (Eocene formations and Pleistocene brickearths) in Wickham Lane brickfield; thence to good sections in Blackheath Beds, mainly pebbles,near the White Horse (" Fanny-on-the-hill") thence across thevalley to Bostall Wood and Bostall Heath. At various points asopportunities arose, the landscape features and their relationsto the local 'Geological formations were discussed. The districthas been several times previously visited by the Associationand descriptions of the sections are fully recorded in the Proceedings (see References).
After tea at the Refreshment Pavilion on Bostall Heath, manvmembers of the party accompanied the Director to the Plumstead,Public Library and Museum, where, by the courtesy of Mr. P. C.Bursill (Chief Librarian) and Mr. E. Luke (Plumstead Library),the local geological exhibits in the Borough of Woolwich Educational Museum were examined and a demonstration was givenof the value of the Epidiascope for projecting geological maps andspecimens. The party left for Plumstead Station about 8 p.m.
