    PROCEDURE

    1. The service manual provided was referred and the blender/mixer was operated.

    2.

The specification label was located and read, and then the information was recorded

    in Table 1.

    Brand: SUNMAX

    Model No: SM-503B

    Voltage: 240V

    Frequency: 50Hz

    Power: 300W

    3.

The front panel of the blender/mixer was observed and the observation was recorded

in the report especially the control knob of the blender/mixer.

    4. An appropriate tool, the back cover of the blender/mixer unit was open up and the

    5. Power supply plug of the blender/mixer was removed from the 240 Volt AC main

    supply socket.

    6. An appropriate tool was used, the back cover of the blender/mixer was open up and

the electrical connection of the blender/mixer electrical system was observed.

    7.

The power plugs were not connected to the main supply socket. The work was doing

    with the power OFF.

    8. The multimeter or megger ohmmeter was used, the insulation resistance and short

circuit tests of the L (live), N (neutral), E (earth) connection of the supply cables were

doing. The reading was recorded in the Table 2.

    QUESTIONS

    1. What are the effects of the line frequency (50 Hz) to the operation of the

    blender/mixer?

Iron operating at 50Hz because most electronic equipment in Malaysia is set to a

frequency of 50Hz. This line frequency is a most efficient for the 240 volt that supply

    for domestic uses.

    2. How does a megger ohmmeter help your to decide that the blender/mixer is safe

    to use?

Megger ohmmeter is used to apply the insulation and short circuit tests on the

connection of the supply cable to trace that the iron in safe condition. After done the

testing the result must show that for a good condition reading is not less than 1M for

the every connection of phase(L and N),(L and E),(N and E).

    3. What is the importance of the specification information of the blender/mixer?

The specification information of the blender/mixer is important because its telling us

how much the power is supplied.

    4. How does a blender/mixer work?

A blender consists of housing, motor, blades, and food container. A fan-cooled

electric motor is secured into the housing by way of vibration dampers, and a small

output shaft penetrates the upper housing and meshes with the blade assembly.

Usually, a small rubber washer provides a seal around the output shaft to prevent

liquid from entering the motor. Most blenders today have multiple speeds. As a

typical blender has no gearbox, the multiple speeds are often implemented using a

universal motor with multiple stator windings and/or multitapped stator windings; in a

blender with electromechanical controls, the button (or other electrical switching

device or position) for each different speed connects a different stator winding/tap or

combination thereof. Each different combination of energized windings produces a

different torque from the motor, which yields a different equilibrium speed in balance

against the drag (resistance to rotation) of the blade assembly in contact with thematerial inside the food container.

    CONCLUSION

As a conclusion, after we had done doing the experiment, we know the operation of

the blender/mixer. We also know how to open all the part in the blender/mixer and we can

detect the part that is always problem and broken. The blender/mixer is

akitchen andlaboratory appliance used to mix, puree,or emulsify food and other substances.

The example of damage is blender expose electronics and sharp metal fan, the blender/mixer

moving during usage; possible falling if near edge and the blender/mixer electrocution of

user. Other than that, the damage is blender was discomfort when pressing metal where the

button used to beand unusable blender due to lack of container. If the damage is not serious,

    we can repair.

Besides that, we also learn about how the parts work together in blender. A blender

consists of housing, motor, blades, and food container. A fan-cooled electric motor is secured

into the housing by way of vibration dampers, and a small output shaft penetrates the upper

housing and meshes with the blade assembly. Usually, a small rubber washer provides a seal

around the output shaft to prevent liquid from entering the motor. Most blenders today have

multiple speeds. As a typical blender has no gearbox, the multiple speeds are often

implemented using a universal motor with multiple stator windings and/or multitapped stator

windings; in a blender with electromechanical controls, the button (or other electrical

switching device or position) for each different speed connects a different stator winding/tap

or combination thereof. Each different combination of energized windings produces a

different torque from the motor, which yields a different equilibrium speed in balance against

the drag (resistance to rotation) of the blade assembly in contact with the material inside the

    food container.

We also know the important reason we need to learn the ways to repair our electronic

component. That is because in our daily, we are used many things that is related to the

component electronic. Furthermore, we can practice the knowledge that we learned about this

blender/mixer to repair our broken blender/mixer at home especially if the damaged part is

just a little and easy to repair.
