Where can the graduate scheme at Rentokil take you? To enable you be a successful leader of the future you will commence your career with frontline experience as a Pest Control Technician which will prepare you for the next steps in your chosen career within Surveying, Field Biologist, Operational Management or Key Accounts Management (this list is not exhaustive)

Below are the roles you can potentially progress into throughout the duration of the Graduate Programme, how you get here is depending on your performance, flexibility, what interests you and the right career step for YOU!

Pest Control Technician (first 6 -12 months)

This is where you will learn how to deliver expert Pest Control in a mixture of commercial and domestic properties. In the first 6-12 months you will:

• Gain Level 1 Rentokil Accreditation qualification whilst shadowing a technician for 5 weeks.• Gain Level 2 BPCA training in the first 6 months whilst working your own patch area.*• Deliver a Pest Control service by inspecting, treating and keeping our customers site pest free.• Work as part of a close-knit team to deliver and meet branch targets. • Advising our customer on pest prevention, hygiene/housekeeping and writing reports of recommendation to eliminate

pest infestation or the risk of infestation on site.• Opportunity to earn commission by submitting leads to generate new business.

*You will complete industry standard exams to gain these qualifications

Technical

Progressing within the technical field at Rentokil can lead to a wide range of opportunities. After your time as a technician, there will be further training within pest control level 3 and 4 BPCA. This option offers a real technical career path, where you can develop technical expertise and become a technical expert.

The typical path of someone on our technical graduate scheme is below.

Field Biologist• Further training within Pest Control Level 3 and 4 BPCA• Site inspections, analysing and identifying the root cause of pest infestations• Quality of service reports on clients premises• Quality Assurance of customer premises and service delivery• Tackling on-going client issues with review meeting – a real problem solving role• Field based with a large geographical patch

Technical Field ConsultantThis role offers a clear technical career path and is an opportunity for further develop your technical expertise to the absolute benefit of the business by:

• Accessing customer sites and preparing action plans• Overseeing Operations activities to ensure infestations are controlled• Carrying out quality assurance inspections• Carry out performance assessments on new technicians• Delivering technical training courses

Regional Technical Account ManagerThis role will focus on the technical account management and driving service delivery to achieve sustainable growth by:

• Being the technical expert for a number of National Key Accounts by carrying out quality audit and critical appraisal visits

• Leading and guiding the operational teams through to a successful service delivery • Having an in-depth working knowledge of high risk stores and overall risk model• Aid Key Account Manager to increase revenue and profitability of the account through

innovation.

SalesIf a career in sales is what you’re after, then advancing on this path may be ideal for you. Once you’ve gained experience as a technician, you will then be responsible for surveying properties and selling Pest Control services. Further opportunities in this field include the chance to manage customer accounts and to demonstrate your expertise by running seminars and training sales staff.

Sales Surveyor • Field sales position, surveying properties and selling pest control services and products• Follow up leads and enquiries, develop any new business, maintain existing customer

relations • Survey clients premises and come up with bespoke plans suitable for each customer• Build relationships with customers and see deals to completion• Targeted role with the opportunity to earn uncapped commission

Key Account ManagerThis role focuses on account management and development, working closely with local teams to drive profitable growth within a sustainable portfolio by:

• New business development • Upselling to our customers• Account managing a portfolio of customers• Customer visits• Bids and tendering to customers

Specialist Sales ConsultantIn this role you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities within the Construction,F.M, Architect, QS and other sectors by:

• Delivering customer presentations, running seminars, target marketing and attending occasional business expos• To train Sales staff in all aspects of Specialist Services Work• Identifying new business opportunities, surveying customer properties, costing jobs, report writing, preparing risk assessments, writing

method statements and preparing quotes to customers • Liaising with Service Managers and acting as a bridge between sales and service

OperationsThere is also opportunity for you to advance in Operations after you have completed your time as a technician. Your time in this section can involve managing and supporting both surveyors and technicians through training, coaching and field accompaniment. Alongside this, there is also opportunity for you to develop new and existing business and to generate revenue streams against set targets.

The typical pathway for a career in Operations at Rentokil is below. Service Team Leader

• Day to day support for team of technicians • Maximise productivity of team• Overall responsibility for area service delivery • Customer engagement• Support Local Ops Managers and Area Ops Managers• Business processes - ordering equipment, new starter, interviews and more

Local Operations ManagerThis is a management position, your time will be spent in the field supporting staff and visiting customer sites. You will be responsible for directly managing members of your team:

• Territory planning • New and existing business development - generating revenue streams against set

targets• To support Surveyors and Technicians through training, coaching and field

accompaniment • Continuously monitor performance data and individual and overall trends

Area Operations ManagerIn this senior leadership role you will support a number of Local Operations Managers (LOMs). Primarily a field based role, the majority of your time will be spent leading, guiding and controlling the efforts of the LOM’s and their branches consisting of teams of service technicians and surveyors by:

• Maintaining staffing levels• Retaining and growing our customer portfolio base (can range between £6m-£10m)• Being responsible for the welfare of all colleagues in your area• Ensuring your area meets the set financial and service delivery targets• Setting and monitoring sales strategies and targets• Ensuring customers contractual obligations are met or exceeded

• Depending on eligibility you may obtain a Level 2 Customer Service accreditation

What we need from you in return: Most of all we need you to come to us with bags of passion, the drive and motivation it takes to have a successful career with us and the ability to think for yourself. Our roles are performance based so you will need to work hard. We also need you to have:

• Minimum 2.2 degree in a science related subject.• Full UK driving Licence held for 6 months with no more than 6 penalty points• Live within locality of the vacancy applied or willing to relocate
