REMOTE CONTROL TEST BED
Supplies needed:
Supply Kit A
Remote
VEX controller
TAKE NOTES ON WHAT YOU LEARN TODAY
Make sure both the controller and the remote are turned OFF
Connect the battery to the VEX controller
Start with a motor
Insert a small axle
Attach a slip clutch
Insert a 2” square bar
Attach a collar and tighten with an allen wrench
Attach a small wheel to the assembly
Connect the motors into the controller as shown – Port 2 and Port 5
Turn on both units.. The VEXnet LED will be blinking fast green on both the Cortex and Joystick. The VEXnet light is the only LED that determines a valid link. It usually takes 5 to 10 s to successfully establish a link. Once the units are linked, the Robot and Joystick LED Indicators will show the battery levels in their respective unit. A green Robot or Joystick LED indicates that their respective batteries are fully charged batteries. As the battery levels decrease, these LEDs will change to yellow and then red.
The Default Code has been downloaded to the Joystick. Pushing Joystick Channel 3 up will cause Motor 2 to turn clockwise. Pushing Joystick Channel 2 up will cause Motor 5 to turn counterclockwise.
Try changing the locations of the cables and testing out the remote. TAKE NOTES.
CONGRATULATIONS!
