supervision of a parent○ Results in less than 12 hours
Scenarios:● Surveillance testing
○ Optional for students and staff members○ Available at every school in the district
● Pending IDPH/ DCHD approval○ Symptoms○ Close contact - Quarantine period <10 days
Safety Measures: Quarantine
CDC / IDPH Options● Option 1: Quarantine at home for 14 calendar days. ● Option 2: Quarantine for 10 calendar days after the close
contact’s last exposure to the COVID-19 case if no symptoms develop.*
Currently not available in DuPage● Option 3: Quarantine period is for 7 calendar days after the
last exposure if: No symptoms developed AND the individual has a negative PCR test that was collected within 48 hours of exposure day 7.*
● Test-to-stay: IDPH allows a modified quarantine approach for
close contacts through a Test to Stay protocol. Following a school exposure, if schools test close contacts on days 1, 3, 5, and 7 from date of exposure by a PCR or rapid EUA-approved test, close contacts are permitted to remain in the classroom as long as the results are negative.*
* The individual can maintain physical distancing and masking at all times when returning to school
Safety Measures:D181 Efforts

need to participate in screening testing and do not need to quarantine if they do not have any symptoms

Safety & Crisis Update
As part of the District’s ongoing commitment to student and staff safety, another safety layer, ALICE, is being implemented.
Goal: To train staff and students on strategies that will increase their chance of survival in the unlikely event that a school intruder enters the building with intent to do harm.
Why? There will be certain instances where the traditional lockdown strategies may be best, but in some cases, the teacher and students may take extra precautions to barricade the entrance of the classroom and/or to evacuate the building.
