SCHEDULE
All of the following workshops will be offered twice:
1. From Party Lines to Face Time: Communicating Across Generations / Facilitators: Ron Guenther and Becky Gochnauer Learn what has shaped every generation, from the silent generation to generation Z, and how that translates to the way each generation communicates with and understands each other.
2. Case Management and Construction: Vital Partners Facilitators: Jerry Grosh and guest from UMCORAs MDS rebuilds in various communities, we look for partnerships with disaster case managers who help disaster survivors plan for recovery. Learn how the roles of case managers and MDS complement each other in the process of getting people home after disasters in the U.S..
3. Stories from Hesston College Students / Facilitator: Cleo Koop What happens when Hesston College students spend eight weeks working with MDS in Pine Ridge? The MDS summer field experience is an opportunity for hands on experiences at an active MDS worksite. Come and hear the stories of Hesston students, and learn how MDS work has both challenged and changed their worldview.
4. MDS Vehicles and Equipment / Facilitator: Brett Troyer Have you ever wondered how MDS coordinates so many vehicles and equipment after disasters across Canada and the U.S.? Come and learn the details and logistics of getting equipment in place after disaster.
5. Collaborative Approach to Recruiting Leadership Volunteers Facilitator: Phil Helmuth Recruiting leadership volunteers is more than asking. Come and explore the elements for a collaborative approach to developing MDS project leadership.

She is passionate about inspiring others and believes that community engagement is at the heart of leadership. Tracey brings a message that hospitality is one of the most divine gifts we can share with others. She strives to view others through Christ’s eyes and can testify that when we do, we truly are strangers no more.
Choose one or both of the following tours, which will all take place Friday, February 8.
1. Tucson Botanical Gardens ($15 USD per person) Take a self-guided tour through the Tucson Botanical Gardens, a tranquil oasis in the heart of Tucson that strives to be recognized and respected as the best small public garden in America. You will have the opportunity to explore Butterfly Magic—a favorite for first-time visitors—where you will be surrounded by rare butterflies, tropical plans, and orchids in bloom. This 2 to 3 hour self-guided tour will begin at 9:00am on Thursday, February 8. The shuttle will depart the DoubleTree at 8:30am. Meet in the lobby of the hotel. If you need to be picked up at another hotel, please call Cory Axness at 480-307-0089.

2. San Xavier Mission ($10 USD per person) Take a 45-minute guided group tour at a national historic landmark, the oldest intact European structure in Arizona. The Mission was created to serve the needs of the local community in the village of Wa:k on the Tohono O’odham reservation. The tour will begin at 3 pm on Thursday, February 8. The shuttle will depart the DoubleTree at 2:30 pm. Meet in the lobby of the hotel. If you need to be picked up at another hotel, please call Cory Axness at 480-307-0089.
