The program theme, “The OR Nurse Faces Her Responsibilities,” is a versatile one which should, according to the Denver chapter, prove educational and applicable to operating room nurses. “Nurses can learn much from the program,” the group promises, “and find it beneficial to themselves and to their particular positions.” Keynote speaker for the program will be newly elected President of the National AORN, Mrs. Betty Thomas, RN, who will look at “Contributions to the Future of OR Nursing.” Subjects pertinent to today’s progressing times will be an important part of the institute, with tentative program including inservice education and staff development; communications in the hospital; surgical intervention in times of disaster in the community; and the responsibilities in the legal liabilities of nursing. REGIONAL INSTITUTE OF OPERATING ROOM NURSING AORN OF DENVER, COLO.

May 1-2, 1970 BROWN PALACE DENVER, COLO.

Mile High City will be the scene of a Regional Institute. The program theme, “The OR Nurse Faces Her Responsibilities,” is a versatile one which should, according to the Denver chapter, prove educational and applicable to operating room nurses. “Nurses can learn much from the program,” the group promises, “and find it beneficial to themselves and to their particular positions.”

Keynote speaker for the program will be newly elected President of the National AORN, Mrs. Betty Thomas, RN, who will look at “Contributions to the Future of OR Nursing.”

Subjects pertinent to today’s progressing times will be an important part of the institute, with tentative program including inservice education and staff development; communications in the hospital; surgical intervention in times of disaster in the community; and the responsibilities in the legal liabilities of nursing.

One of the famous landmarks and most popular hotels in Denver, the Brown Palace, is serving as center for the institute. Excellent dining, entertainment, and shopping facilities are easily accessible to the hotel. An elegant luncheon and style show sponsored by “Kel- ly’s,’’ at the Brown Palace, will be one of the program’s light sides. Seating arrangements are rather limited, however, and early reser- vations should be made.

A tour of Coors Brewery in Golden, Colo. has been arranged to follow sessions May 1. Tours at personal convenience will be avail- able to the famed Larimer Square, and the city of Denver. A social hour is planned to follow

the May 2 meetings, and May 3, a tour has been arranged to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. “Needless to say,” Denver AORN emphasizes, “the new National Head- quarters at 8085 East Prentice in Englewood might be on the sightseeing agenda.”

The institute has an enticing program-ex- cellent and informative sessions, good enter- tainment, and the beautiful Rockies. The Denver chapter anticipates seeing many nurses from the region and surrounding areas. All are welcome to what will surely be a rewarding experience.
