Introduction A home without books is like a body without a soul – Mahathir Mohamad Reading can be either you read a books, magazines, online articles, journals, comics and others books. Reading provides us with many inputs. Not only through fictions, we gained much knowledge through non-fictions books too. When was the last time you read a book? What was the last book do you been read? There are many benefits when we read a books, with this I would like to talk about the advantages of reading which is Influence your way of thinking, increased vocabulary, and Reading reduces stress. Body Ladies and Gentlemen, Let me bring you to my first point which is influence your way of thinking. Studies have proven that reading stimulates your brain which is reading can sharpens your memory, increase learning capacity and make your mind stronger. If you want to change your mind, you have to change your brain. Two mechanisms are long term potential and plasticity, each time you read the connection between neurons becomes stronger. Next, by reading more books and exposing yourself to new and more complete information, you will be able to come with more creative ideas. For example, do you watch cartoon, Jimmy Neutron? the genius boy. Jimmy is genius inventor, he create a lot of invention that can help people around him. He got a lot of ideas through his reading and that influenced his way of thinking.

Reading can be either you read a books, magazines, online articles, journals, comics and others

books. Reading provides us with many inputs. Not only through fictions, we gained much

knowledge through non-fictions books too. When was the last time you read a book? What was

the last book do you been read?

There are many benefits when we read a books, with this I would like to talk about the

advantages of reading which is Influence your way of thinking, increased vocabulary, and

Reading reduces stress.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Let me bring you to my first point which is influence your way of thinking. Studies have proven

that reading stimulates your brain which is reading can sharpens your memory, increase

learning capacity and make your mind stronger. If you want to change your mind, you have to

change your brain. Two mechanisms are long term potential and plasticity, each time you read

the connection between neurons becomes stronger. Next, by reading more books and exposing

yourself to new and more complete information, you will be able to come with more creative

ideas. For example, do you watch cartoon, Jimmy Neutron? the genius boy. Jimmy is genius

through his reading and that influenced his way of thinking.

The next advantages of reading which are increased vocabulary. Have you ever wondered why

you don't have strong vocabulary? To increase your vocabulary you need to take three steps

which is the first step to improve your vocabulary is to read. Many things are around you that

you can grab and read. It is good idea to visit library, in there you find many resources such as

books, articles, newspaper, and magazine. Highlight the important words. By reading you will

come to understand how and when to use specific words. The second step to improve your

vocabulary is to use dictionary. It is always a good idea to memorize 2-3 words per day. Try to

memorize as many words as you can. It's good idea to write down the words for practice, which

helps memorize the words. And the last step to improve your vocabulary is talk with friends after

your finish reading. In a way it's beneficial because you get the confident of what you can talk

about. Practice is important when it comes to your vocabulary. As in the phrase "practice makes

perfect”. So to have the good vocabulary you must practice to speak with others people after

your finish a reading.

Last but not least, reading can reduce your stress. According to the University of Sussex (United

Kingdom) studies, reading for just six minutes has been shown to reduce stress by 68 percent.

Subjects only needed to read, silently, for six minutes to slow down the heart rate and ease

tension in the muscles. In fact it got subjects to stress levels lower than before they started.

Besides that, psychologists believe this is because the human mind has to concentrate on

reading and the distraction of being taken into a literary world eases the tensions in muscles

and the heart. By gaining the knowledge you need to solve problems. For example, let's say

you're overweight and this is causing you stress. You find that the more weight you gain, the

more stressed you become, which just causes you to eat more. Instead of getting stressed out,

why not read a good book about nutrition that will teach you how to plan meals better, so they're

low-calories and low-fat. This could very well result in reducing your weight problem and it could

even disappear altogether along with the stress that is bringing you down.

Last word from me, reading have a lot of advantages of which is Influence your way of

thinking, Increased vocabulary, and by reading can reduces your stress. So after hearing about

advantages of reading how many people want start reading?
