RPIGC: Introduction• Multi platform.• Portable.• Low power.• Cost efficient.• Customizable.
RPIGC: SOC• RASPBERRY PI GAMING – A SYSTEM ON A CHIP (SoC).• A system on a chip is an integrated circuit (IC) that integrates
all components of a computer into a single chip.• Small form factor.• Low power.• Cheap.
RPIGC: SOC• Raspberry pi is a SOC.• Many ports and inputs.• Two models manufactured
(model A and B).• Ram, graphics and CPU
integrated into board.• Storage is separate from the
pi.
RPIGC: Specifications• CPU @ 700MHz ARM11 Family, Overclocked to 950MHz• GPU –Broadcom Video Core @ 200MHz, Overclocked to 450MHz.• Memory (SDRAM)– 512MB (Shared with GPU)• 2 USB 2.0 ports.• 3.5MM jack or HDMI for audio.• SD Card for storage.• 8x GPIOs .• Weights only 45 g.• HDMI and RCA ports.• 3.5inch TFT LCD display.• Several Pushbuttons.
RPIGC: Group Roles• Jakub: Leader/Programmer• Jorry: Hands on tester/Prototyping• Duc: Designer/ Wiki warrior
RPIGC: Gaming• Multiplatform experience for the user.• Over 100 available and popular titles.• Easily accessible downloadable content.• 60 frames per second in most cases.• Simple UI.• Extra button functions.
RPIGC: Programming• We use Linux Based Raspbian as the OS.• The programming was done through the given
terminal.• The teensy was programmed through the use of
Arduino.
RPIGC: Modularity• Our case design is a fully open one.• Our build materials are inexpensive and accessible.• Our RPIGC can be repurposed with a simple swap
of SD cards.• Some external power sources may be used.
RPIGC: Prototyping• We have went through
many prototypes.• Several case designs were
tested in solid works.• Multiple displays used.• Several human interface
devices.
RPIGC: Failures/Obstacles• Problems with printing the 3D Case.• Slight fire incident.• Broken Xbox controller.• SD card corruption.
