Dual Credit Partners
Dear Partners,
As we reach the end of the school year it is a time to reflect upon our
successes and identify the opportunities we have to improve our dual
credit program. Reviewing this year I am reminded of the quote by Biz
Stone, “when you hand good people possibility, they do great
things.”
Ranger College is committed to handing ever increasing possibility to
our students and district partners. We see you doing great things day-in
and day-out and are humbled and grateful to be your partner in this
work to improve the lives of all students. Thank you.
RECORD BREAKING GRADUATION!
The Ranger College Spring graduation celebrated a record number of
graduates, including 74 dual credit students who received either and
Associate's degree or certification on May 4th in Stephenville.
Dual credit students were highlighted throughout the ceremony and
several were recognized for earning the highest GPA’s in their high
school’s history.
Dual credit instructors Leann Ingram and Heather Cuellar were also
recognized for excellence in dual credit
instruction.

FINANCIAL AID UPDATE
MOU’S COMING SOON
The 2018-2019 school year will be the third and final year of the dual
credit Pell grant experiment. Ranger College is the only institution in the
state of Texas approved to offer Pell grants to dual credit students who are
enrolled in public schools.
The FAFSA application for the upcoming year is open and we highly en-
courage students to complete the application as soon as possible. It is im-
portant that dual credit student select “none of the above” in answering
the question about which level of education they have completed. Our fi-
nancial aid office is ready to help students if needed. Please call 254-647-
3234 or email [email protected] for assitance. 2

“A SACSCOC onsite review committee will visit a representative sam-
pling of these new sites in October of 2018. Your school may be one of the

Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges or SACSCOC, will be
conducting a fifth-year interim review of the college in the last quarter
of 2018. RC’s dual credit partner districts will be involved in this re-
view.
RC has acquired many new dual credit partners since our last reaffir-
mation in 2013. Each of these new partnerships counts as a new off-
campus instructional site. A SACSCOC onsite review committee will
visit a representative sampling of these new sites in October of 2018.
Your school may be one of the sites visited.
Typically, these committees look to see if faculty are qualified to teach
the courses assigned, student and academic support services are appro-
priate and available to those students who need them, and facilities are
appropriate to learning.
We won’t know the list of schools to be visited until later this year, cir-
ca September. The committee will interview a variety of administrators,
faculty, staff members, and/or students.
