Dress Code Students wear an R-MA-logo polo shirt, cotton khaki (tan) trousers, shorts, or capris, athletic shoes, and white socks. Students must meet R-MA grooming standards. DESCRIPTION

Randolph-Macon Academy offers a summer school program for rising ninth through twelfth grade students. Students may take one new high school course, two repeat courses, two enrichment courses, or one repeat course and one enrichment course. With over 20 courses to choose from, students can get ahead of their peers, reinforce skills, explore a new area, or improve a grade. A flight camp is also available. Programs run July 3-29, 2016.

Design Concepts for EngineeringSee what an engineer’s work is really like. The designing, planning, and construction processes of projects in this class are modeled after what engineers do every day.

Computer Literacy Learn computer literacy terminology, telecommunications, advanced word processing, desktop publishing, web page design, spreadsheets, databases, and slide shows.

SAT PrepReview the verbal and mathematical skills assessed on the SAT, take practice tests, learn about study resources, and understand test-taking strategies specific to the exam.

Study SkillsLearn the three main concepts that are necessary for success in life, particularly academic life: classic study skills, psychometrics, and the elements of motivation.

Flight CampThe flight training program includes:

√ Ground school tailored to soloing in a Cessna 172√ Approximately 15 hours of dual flight instruction √ FAA medical examination (if necessary)

Academy-owned aircraft are used. Students must be at least 16 years old to earn solo wings and 17 years old for the private pilot certification. For safety reasons, R-MA does not guarantee either solo status or certification regardless of the flight time or costs incurred.

International students must provide documentation of their TSA clearance by April 1, 2016, or forfeit their spot in the flight camp.
