47. Surah Muhammad

This sura was revealed after Hijrat, but the orders/permission to take on armed conflict with Meccans had not yet come. So muslims were discussing amongst

them selves that may be we could take retaliate now if we are attacked. Once the permission was given the hypocrites got pale that now we will be revealed that

weare hypocrites and will not fight alongwith muslims.

Know this background , the Ayats will start becoming clear.

47-1. Those who disbelieve [in the Oneness of Allah, and in the Message of Prophet Muhammad ], and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah (Islamic Monotheism), He will render their deeds vain .

47-2. But those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and believe in that which is sent down to Muhammad (), for it is the truth from their Lord, He will expiate from them their sins, and will make good their state.

47-3. That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood, while those who believe follow the truth from their Lord. Thus does Allah set forth their parables for mankind.

47-4. So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives). Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom (according to what benefits Islam), until the war lays down its burden. Thus [you are ordered by Allah to continue in carrying out Jihad against the disbelievers till they embrace Islam (i.e. are saved from the punishment in the Hell-fire) or at least come under your protection], but if it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost,

47-5. He will guide them and set right their state.

47-6. And admit them to Paradise which He has made known to them (i.e. they will know their places in Paradise more than they used to know their houses in the world).

Page 5: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

47-7. O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm.

47-8. But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), for them is destruction, and (Allah) will make their deeds vain.

47-9. That is because they hate that which Allah has sent down (this Qur'an and Islamic laws, etc.), so He has made their deeds fruitless.

47-10. Have they not travelled through the earth, and seen what was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed them completely and a similar (fate awaits) the disbelievers.

47-11. That is because Allah is the Maula (Lord, Master, Helper, Protector, etc.) of those who believe, and the disbelievers have no Maula (lord, master, helper, protector, etc.).

47-12. Certainly! Allah will admit those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), while those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as cattle eat, and the Fire will be their abode.

47-13. And many a town, stronger than your town (Makkah) (O Muhammad ) which has driven you out We have destroyed. And there was none to help them.

47-14. Is he who is on a clear proof from his Lord, like those for whom their evil deeds that they do are beautified for them, while they follow their own lusts (evil desires)?

47-15. The description of Paradise which the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2) have been promised is that in it are rivers of water the taste and smell of which are not changed; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine delicious to those who drink; and rivers of clarified honey (clear and pure) therein for them is every kind of fruit; and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are these) like those who shall dwell for ever in the Fire, and be given, to drink, boiling water, so that it cuts up their bowels?

47-16. And among them are some who listen to you (O Muhammad ) till, when they go out from you, they say to those who have received knowledge: "What has he said just now? Such are men whose hearts Allah has sealed, and they follow their lusts (evil desires).

47-17. While as for those who accept guidance, He increases their guidance, and bestows on them their piety.

Page 6: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

47-18. Do they then await (anything) other than the Hour, that it should come upon them suddenly? But some of its portents (indications and signs) have already come, and when it (actually) is on them, how can they benefit then by their reminder?

47-19. So know (O Muhammad ) that La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women. And Allah knows well your moving about, and your place of rest (in your homes).

Now the description of hypocrites in Madina, led by Abdullah bin obayyi, is given in detail who used to be in fore front to show readiness for fighting but once the

permission was given, their true self came out

47-20. Those who believe say: "Why is not a Surah (chapter of the Qur'an) sent down (for us)? But when a decisive Surah (explaining and ordering things) is sent down, and fighting (Jihad - holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is mentioned (i.e. ordained) therein, you will see those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy) looking at you with a look of one fainting to death. But it was better for them (hypocrites, to listen to Allah and to obey Him).

47-21. Obedience (to Allah) and good words (were better for them). And when the matter (preparation for Jihad) is resolved on, then if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them.

47-22. Would you then, if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties of kinship?

47-23. Such are they whom Allah has cursed, so that He has made them deaf and blinded their sight.

47-47-24. Do they not then think deeply in the Qur'an, or are their hearts locked up (from understanding it)?

47-25. Verily, those who have turned back (have apostated) as disbelievers after the guidance has been manifested to them, Shaitan (Satan) has beautified for them (their false hopes), and (Allah) prolonged their term (age).

47-26. This is because they said to those who hate what Allah has sent down: "We will obey you in part of the matter," but Allah knows their secrets.

47-27. Then how (will it be) when the angels will take their souls at death, smiting their faces and their backs?

47-28. That is because they followed that which angered Allah, and hated that which pleased Him. So He made their deeds fruitless.

Page 7: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

47-29. Or do those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy), think that Allah will not bring to light all their hidden ill-wills?

47-30. Had We willed, We could have shown them to you, and you should have known them by their marks, but surely, you will know them by the tone of their speech! And Allah knows all your deeds.

47-31. And surely, We shall try you till We test those who strive hard (for the Cause of Allah) and the patient ones, and We shall test your facts (i.e. the one who is a liar, and the one who is truthful).

47-32. Verily, those who disbelieve, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah (i.e. Islam), and oppose the Messenger ( ) (by standing against him and hurting him), after the guidance has been clearly shown to them, they will not hurt Allah in the least, but He will make their deeds fruitless,

Now Allah addresses the believers

47-33. O you who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger (Muhammad ) and render not vain your deeds.

47-34. Verily, those who disbelieve, and hinder (men) from the Path of Allah (i.e. Islam); then die while they are disbelievers, Allah will not forgive them.

47-35. So be not weak and ask not for peace (from the enemies of Islam), while you are having the upper hand. Allah is with you, and will never decrease the reward of your good deeds.

47-36. The life of this world is but play and pastime, but if you believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and fear Allah, and avoid evil, He will grant you your wages, and will not ask you your wealth.

As the permission to fight demanded spending money, so Allah asks muslims to spend willingly to make Islamic revolution to succeed.

47-37. If He were to ask you of it, and press you, you would covetously withhold, and He will bring out all your (secret) ill-wills.

47-38. Behold! You are those who are called to spend in the Cause of Allah, yet among you are some who are niggardly. And whoever is niggardly, it is only at the expense of his ownself. But Allah is Rich (Free of all wants), and you (mankind) are poor. And if you turn away (from Islam and the obedience of Allah), He will exchange you for some other people, and they will not be your likes.

48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory)

This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle of the Trench, in which Meccans were defeated. The prophet took 1400 Companions for Umra to mEcca. Quraish opposed it anf

then a Treaty of Hudaibya was signed, and Muslims were allowed not allowed to do do umra and were asked to return to madina and come next year to do Umra

and a 10 Years NO-War Pact was signed. On the way back to madina this sura was revealed that this Pact of Hudaibya was a victory for muslims. The details of

the Treaty is given at the end which you should read first and then the sura.

The treaty was declaed , THE VICTORY, by allah, because Quraish ,when made the treaty, they accepted the prophet as equal and ruler of state of

Madina.Previous to this He was considered a Rebel of Quraish.

The result of this treaty can be seen from the fact that only 1400 companions went with the prophet, but at the time of conquest of Mecca the army consisted of

10,000 muslims.

48-1. Verily, We have given you (O Muhammad ) a manifest victory.

48-2. That Allah may forgive you your sins of the past and the future, and complete His Favour on you, and guide you on the Straight Path;

48-3. And that Allah may help you with strong help.

48-4. He it is Who sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) into the hearts of the believers, that they may grow more in Faith along with their (present) Faith. And to Allah belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Ever All-Knower, All-Wise.

48-5. That He may admit the believing men and the believing women to Gardens under which rivers flow (i.e. Paradise), to abide therein forever, and to expiate from them their sins, and that is with Allah, a supreme success,

48-6. And that He may punish the Munafiqun (hypocrites), men and women, and also the Mushrikun men and women, who think evil thoughts about Allah, for them is a disgraceful torment, and the Anger of Allah is upon them, and He has cursed them and prepared Hell for them, and worst indeed is that destination.

Page 9: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

48-7. And to Allah belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Ever All-Knower, All-Wise.

48-8. Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad ) as a witness, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner.

48-9. In order that you (O mankind) may believe in Allah and His Messenger (), and that you assist and honour him (), and (that you) glorify (Allah's) praises morning and afternoon.

This pledge was taken when the rumours came that Hazrat Usman , who was sent to Quraish as Emissory/ambassador to negotiate, was killed by Quraish.

48-10. Verily, those who give Bai'a (pledge) to you (O Muhammad ) they are giving Bai'a (pledge) to Allah. The Hand of Allah is over their hands. Then whosoever breaks his pledge, breaks only to his own harm, and whosoever fulfills what he has covenanted with Allah, He will bestow on him a great reward.

These ayats are for the hypocrites who did not come with the prophet for Umra

48-11. Those of the bedouins who lagged behind will say to you: "Our possessions and our families occupied us, so ask forgiveness for us." They say with their tongues what is not in their hearts. Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if He intends you hurt or intends you benefit? Nay, but Allah is Ever All-Aware of what you do.

48-12. "Nay, but you thought that the Messenger and the believers would never return to their families; and that was made fair-seeming in their hearts, and you did think an evil thought and you became a useless people going for destruction."

48-13. And whosoever does not believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), then verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers a blazing Fire .

48-14. And to Allah belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He forgives whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

48-15. Those who lagged behind will say, when you set forth to take the spoils, "Allow us to follow you," They want to change Allah's Words. Say: "You shall not follow us; thus Allah has said beforehand." Then they will say: "Nay, you envy us." Nay, but they understand not except a little.

48-16. Say (O Muhammad ) to the bedouins who lagged behind: "You shall be called to fight against a people given to great warfare, then you shall fight them, or they shall surrender. Then if you obey, Allah will give you a fair reward, but if

Page 10: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

you turn away as you did turn away before, He will punish you with a painful torment."

48-17. No blame or sin is there upon the blind, nor is there blame or sin upon the lame, nor is there blame or sin upon the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), He will admit him to Gardens beneath which rivers flow (Paradise); and whosoever turns back, He will punish him with a painful torment.

This is nown as BAIT RIZWAN

48-18. Indeed, Allah was pleased with the believers when they gave their Bai'a (pledge) to you (O Muhammad ) under the tree, He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) upon them, and He rewarded them with a near victory,

48-19. And abundant spoils that they will capture. And Allah is Ever All-Mighty, All-Wise.

48-20. Allah has promised you abundant spoils that you will capture, and He has hastened for you this, and He has restrained the hands of men from you, that it may be a sign for the believers, and that He may guide you to a Straight Path.

48-21. And other (victories and much booty there are, He promises you) which are not yet within your power, indeed Allah compasses them, And Allah is Ever Able to do all things.

48-22. And if those who disbelieve fight against you, they certainly would have turned their backs, then they would have found neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper.

48-23. That has been the Way of Allah already with those who passed away before. And you will not find any change in the Way of Allah.

48-24. And He it is Who has withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the midst of Makkah, after He had made you victors over them. And Allah is Ever the All-Seer of what you do.

48-25. They are the ones who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and hindered you from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (the sacred mosque of Makkah) and the sacrificial animals, detained from reaching their place of sacrifice. Had there not been believing men and believing women whom you did not know, that you may kill them, and on whose account a sin would have been committed by you without (your) knowledge, that Allah might bring into His Mercy whom He will, if they (the believers and the disbelievers) should have been apart, We verily had punished those of them who disbelieved, with painful torment.

Page 11: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

48-26. When those who disbelieve had put in their hearts pride and haughtiness the pride and haughtiness of the time of ignorance, then Allah sent down His

Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) upon His Messenger ( ) and upon the believers, and made them stick to the word of piety (i.e. none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and they were well entitled to it and worthy of it. And Allah is the All-Knower of everything.

48-27. Indeed Allah shall fulfil the true vision which He showed to His Messenger () [i.e. the Prophet saw a dream that he has entered Makkah along with his companions, having their (head) hair shaved and cut short] in very truth. Certainly, you shall enter Al-Masjid-al-Haram; if Allah wills, secure, (some) having your heads shaved, and (some) having your head hair cut short, having no fear. He knew what you knew not, and He granted besides that a near victory.

48-28. He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), that He may make it (Islam) superior over all religions. And All-Sufficient is Allah as a Witness.

48-29. Muhammad () is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and falling down prostrate (in prayer), seeking Bounty from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. The mark of them (i.e. of their Faith) is on their faces (foreheads) from the traces of (their) prostration (during prayers). This is their description in the Taurat (Torah). But their description in the Injeel (Gospel) is like a (sown) seed which sends forth its shoot, then makes it strong, it then becomes thick, and it stands straight on its stem, delighting the sowers that He may enrage the disbelievers with them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous good deeds, forgiveness and a mighty reward (i.e. Paradise).

Treaty of Hudaybiyyah The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah (Arabic: الحديبية صلح) was an important event that took place during the formation of Islam. It was a pivotal treaty between Muhammad, representing the state of Medina, and the Quraysh tribe of Mecca in March 628 (corresponding to Dhu al-Qi'dah, 6 AH). It helped to decrease tension between the two cities, affirmed a 10-year peace, and authorised Muhammad's followers to return the following year in a peaceful pilgrimage, later known as The First Pilgrimage.[1][2][3]

Attempted pilgrimage[edit]

See also: Pledge of the Tree

Muhammad had a premonition that he entered Mecca and did tawaf around the Ka'bah. His Companions in Madinah were delighted when he told them about it. They all revered Mecca and the Ka'bah and they yearned to do tawaf there. In 628, Muhammad

Page 12: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

and a group of 1,400 Muslims marched peacefully without arms towards Mecca, in an attempt to perform the Umrah (pilgrimage). They were dressed as pilgrims, and brought sacrificial animals, hoping that the Quraish would honour the Arabian custom of allowing pilgrims to enter the city. The Muslims had left Medina in a state of ihram, a premeditated spiritual and physical state which restricted their freedom of action and prohibited fighting. This, along with the paucity of arms carried, indicated that the pilgrimage was always intended to be peaceful.[4]

Muhammad and his followers camped outside of Mecca, and Muhammad met with Meccan emissaries who wished to prevent the pilgrims' entry into Mecca. After negotiations the two parties decided to resolve the matter through diplomacy rather than warfare, and a treaty was drawn up.[5]

Treaty[edit]

The statement of the treaty was as follows:

“In your name, O God! This is the treaty of peace between Muhammad Ibn Abdullah and Suhayl ibn Amr.

1-They have agreed to allow their arms to rest for ten years. During this time each party shall be secure, and neither shall injure the other; no secret damage shall

be inflicted, but honesty and honour shall prevail between them.

2-Whoever in Arabia wishes to enter into a treaty or covenant with Muhammad can do so, and whoever wishes to enter into a treaty or covenant with the

Quraysh can do so.

3-And if a Qurayshite comes without the permission of his guardian to Muhammad, he shall be delivered up to the Quraysh; but if, on the other hand,

one of Muhammad's people comes to the Quraysh, he shall not be delivered up to Muhammad.

4- This year, Muhammad, with his companions, must withdraw from Mecca, but next year, he may come to Mecca and remain for three days, yet without their weapons except those of a traveler, the swords remaining in their sheaths.”

The treaty was quite controversial for many reasons. Originally, the treaty referred to Muhammad as the Messenger of God, but this was unacceptable to the Quraish ambassador Suhayl ibn Amr. Muhammad compromised, and told his cousin Ali to strike out the wording. But Ali said, "I will not be the person to rub it out", after which Muhammad himself rubbed out the words. (Sahih al-Bukhari, 3:49:862, Sahih Muslim, 19:4404).

Another point of contention, was that the Muslims objected over a clause of the treaty that said that any citizen from Mecca entering Medina was eligible to be returned to Mecca (if they wanted), while the reverse was not true, and any Muslim from Medina entering Mecca was not eligible to be returned to the Muslims, even if Muhammad himself requested. (Sahih al-Bukhari, 3:50:874)

A condition was also placed that the Muslims could not enter for their pilgrimage at that time, but could return the following year. The treaty also assured a 10-year peace.

Page 13: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

After the signing of the treaty, there was still great resentment and fury among the Muslims because they did not like its stipulations. Muhammad, binding onto the Islamic ethic "fulfill every promise" ordered that Muslims do exactly as the treaty says. Also, many Muslims thereafter objected when Muhammad told them (thrice) to perform their rites there and then. (Sahih al-Bukhari, 3:50:891)

Muhammad insisted that Muslims had been victorious and was supported in this by new revelation: "Verily we have granted thee a manifest victory" (Qur'an 48:1). He promised much spoils in the near future: "...and He sent down peace of reassurance on them, and hath rewarded them with a near victory, and much booty that they will capture". (Qur'an 48:18-19)

The treaty's stipulations on the movement of persons gave rise to later controversy, when the Quraysh woman Umm Kulthum bint Uqba went to Medina and joined the Muslims, and her brothers demanded her return from Muhammad, as they interpreted the treaty to mean. Muslim commentator Abdullah Yusuf Ali considers that the treaty had already been violated, probably by an attack by the Quraysh-allied tribe of Banu Bakr upon the Muslim tribe of Banu Khuza'a. Thus he believed that divine instruction was needed, which came down in the form of chapter 9 of the Quran.[7] Other Muslim sources state that the treaty's restrictions only applied to free men, and not to slaves or women.[8] Ultimately, Muhammad refused on the basis of revelation from God: "When there come to you believing women refugees, examine and test them... if ye ascertain they are believers, send them not to the unbelievers" (Qur'an 60:10). If the woman married a Muslim, the Muslims would pay the Meccan refugee's ex-husband a sum equal to the dower he had paid upon marriage to her (Qur'an 60:10).

ISLAM IN PERSPECTIVE

Hudaibiyah: A turning point in the history of Islam

Abu Tariq Hijazi | Published — Friday 9 November 2012

The incident of Hudaibiyah reserves in history a significant phase of Islam when Muslims got an

opportunity to unexpectedly notch gains from the jaws of an apparent defeat.

It was the sixth year of Hijrah since the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his supporters had left

the beloved city of Makkah. They were eager to visit the holy Kaaba and perform tawaf

(circumambulation).

The pagans of Makkah had meanwhile confronted Muslims three times in the Battle of Badr,

Battle of Uhud, and the Battle of Trench. And despite winning in at least two of the battles (in

Uhud, they had to retreat), Muslims were still not strong enough to dare counter attack on the

large force of the Makkan pagans.

The Hudaibiyah encounter occurred meanwhile that not only gave Muslims courage to go ahead

with the mission, but it also tested their courage and faith in Islam.

Six years after Hijrah, in 628 CE, the holy Prophet (peace be upon him) dreamt that he and his

followers were entering Makkah and performing tawaf. It was a good sign and hence he declared

his plan to visit Makkah to perform Umrah.

Over 1,400 Muslims donned ihram with him from Madinah. They took 70 camels with them for

sacrifice. As per the established practice, the Makkans were bound to allow pilgrims coming —

Page 14: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

but without arms — to perform Umrah. But, alarmed by the huge Muslim presence, the Quraish

leaders decided not to allow them from entering the city and sent Khaled Bin Walid with 200

fighters to stop them defying the centuries-old Arab tradition.

The holy Prophet (peace be upon him) changed the route of Taneem to avoid confrontation and

came to a lesser-known place called Hudaibiyah on the western edge of the city.

Determined not to allow Muslims enter the city, Makkans sent Urwah bin Masud to negotiate

with the Prophet. Highly impressed with the scenes of Prophet’s love among his followers,

Urwah said, “I have visited the royal courts of the Persians, Roman and Ethiopian kingdoms, but

I have never seen the kind of respect and high esteem as the followers of Mohammad have for

him. They have come only for worship. Let them enter the holy city.” But the Makkan leaders

were bent upon preventing the Muslims.

The holy Prophet (peace be upon him) later sent Uthman bin Affan who had good contacts in

Makkah but they detained him and spread a rumor to upset the Muslims that Uthman has been

killed. This was a great challenge. Though 400 km away from his city and having no proper arms

to fight, he prepared for a war like situation and called his followers to prepare for fight unto

death. The people rushed to take an oath of allegiance on his pious hand and within short time

the news reached Makkah that 1400 volunteers were ready to fight unto death. This broke their

morale and Makkans agreed to discuss terms of peace with him.

They released Uthman and sent Sohayl bin Amr Al-Thaqafi to negotiate the terms of peace with

the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Sohayl (later embraced Islam) was very tough in

dealings. He reached the following terms:

In the name of Almighty Allah.

These are the conditions of peace between Muhammad, son of Abdullah, and

Suhayl Ibn Amr the envoy of Makkah:

1. There will be an armistice between the two parties and no fighting for the next

10 years.

2. Any person or tribe who wishes to join Muhammad and to enter into any

agreement with him is free to do so. Likewise any person or tribe who wishes to

join the Quraish and to enter into any agreement with them is free to do so.

3. If any Makkan went to Madinah, then Muslims would return him to Makkah, but

if any Muslim from Madinah went to Makkah, he would not be returned.

4. If any young man, or one whose father is alive, goes to Muhammad without

permission from his father or guardian, will be returned to his father or guardian.

But if anyone goes to the Quraish of Makkah, will not be returned.

5. This year the Muslims will go back without entering Makkah. But next year

Muhammad and his followers can enter Makkah, spend three days and perform the

Umrah. Apparently, it was an agreement that went against the wishes of the Muslims, but later it turned

out to be a great victory for Muslims.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) showed extreme patience by accepting all these terms as

dictated. This treaty is known as the Treaty of Hudaibiyah. It was one of the most outstanding

events and proved to be a turning point in the Islamic history.

Few of those present there could visualize the victory of the treaty based on the Prophet’s

farsightedness. The first gain of the Treaty was that hostile Makkan leadership recognized

Page 15: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) as a leader of the Madinah state. Secondly, the Treaty

terminated the hostile behavior of Quraish against Muslims. Now they were allowed to move

freely and talk openly about Islam. Thirdly, Muslims were equally allowed to make alliances

with other tribes. Fourthly, 10 years armistice with Quraish provided a unique opportunity to

preach Islam and to deal with their rivals in other parts of the peninsula. Very soon they

conquered the Jewish stronghold of Khyber.

The most irritating conditions of the treaty were the clause Nos. 3 & 5; but the Prophet (peace be

upon him) simplified them by saying that if a Muslim flees from us to Makkah we don’t need

him and if a Makkan Muslim comes to us in Madinah we shall return him and he will preach

Islam there. Regarding performing Umrah this year, Muslims received a written guarantee to

perform it next year peacefully. The holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was determined to avoid

bloodshed in the holy city and he succeeded fully in establishing it. Commenters have viewed the

treaty as a masterpiece of his wisdom and farsightedness.

It was really a great triumph of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). After the peaceful

armistice at Hudaibiyah, Islam increased in leap and bounds. Muslims had full liberty to preach

Islam. Three battles of Quraish against Muslims were lost.

The people realized the eventual triumph of Islam. They entered the fold of Islam in thousands.

The following year when the holy Prophet returned to perform Umrah, there were 2,000 pilgrims

with him instead of 1400 earlier.

When the Prophet returned from Hudaibiya, he received the Divine revelation that Almighty

Allah had put a seal of honor on this treaty and called it "Fatah Al-Mubeen" (Manifest Victory)

in the Qur'an. (48:01) He also rewarded His pleasure to those who took oath of allegiance under

a tree, which is called Bait Ridwan and termed that Allah’s protection was upon the hand of the

Prophet (peace be upon him).

After concluding the treaty, the holy Prophet told the followers to slaughter sacrificial animals at

the same place and get their head shaved to come out of ihram. But the people were so dejected

that they delayed the compliance. The Prophet (peace be upon him) felt it and entered the tent

and told his accompanying wife, Umm Salma, about people’s reluctance.

She politely advised, “The people are in shock to lose their Umrah and entry to the holy city.

You do as planned. They will follow you.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) came out,

slaughtered his camels and got his head shaved. Subsequently, the people followed him and they

all set out towards Madinah. Thus the wisdom of Ummul Momenin, Umm Salma, solved a

tedious problem.

When Sohail was signing the treaty, a young Muslim in chains appeared in the Muslim camp and

cried for help and his release. Sohail recognized him. It was his own son known as Abu Jandal.

Sohail cried, “Here is the test of this treaty you cannot take this man as per clause no. 4. You

have to return it to me.” The holy Prophet agreed and consoled Abu Jandal, “We have just

concluded a treaty with Quraish in the name of Allah and we honor it. Be patient and resign

yourself to the will of Allah. He will provide you relief.” Abu Jandal was handed over to his

father but he escaped from Makkah and after some time and stayed in desert.

Another Muslim, Utba, known as Abul Baseer, fled from Makkah and made his hiding in the

Red Sea coast. Abu Jandal and many other runaways joined him and posed a threat to the passing

trade caravans of the Quraish.

Ultimately the Quraish requested the Prophet (peace be upon him) to abrogate this clause and

call these brave Muslims back to Madinah. The Prophet sent a letter to Abul Baseer, who was

Page 16: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

much delighted to receive it but he was on death bed and died there. However Abu Jandal and

other 70 mujahedeen returned to Madinah praying for Abul Baseer who had provided a shelter to

them.

The Hudaibiyah Treaty proved to be a prelude to the Conquest of Makkah. As per the agreement,

Banu Bakr tribe joined Al-Quraish and Banu Khaza’a entered into alliance with the Prophet. But

they both had long history of enmity between them. Just after 20 months, Banu Bakr attacked

Banu Khaza’a in Sha'ban, 8AH. They killed many persons and their chief, Nofel, did not spare

them even inside the holy city. The Quraish also supported them with men and arms. Amr bin

Salem of Banu Khaza’a with 20 men rushed to Madinah and advised the holy Prophet with real

situation. The Prophet (peace be upon him) again rose high to the challenge.

He sent a word to Quraish, pay ransom for the persons killed or terminate your alliance with

Banu Bakr or treat the Hudaibiyah Treaty as abrogated. The Quraish arrogantly replied we shall

neither pay ransom nor terminate our alliance with Banu Bakr but are ready to abrogate the treaty

with you. The holy Prophet stood to the challenge. But he wanted to avoid bloodshed in Harem

territory at every cost. He made a secret plan to surround Makkah in surprise with a large force

so that Makkans could surrender without a fight. It was a super strategy. He declared war

preparations without naming the destination. Muslim tribes rushed to Madinahh in Ramadhan

(8AH). Various northern tribes had entered the fold of Islam in these 20 months after the

conquest of Khyber and Taima. Muslim volunteers came in thousands. The famous tribes of

Aslam, Sulaim, Ghifar, Muzaina, Ashjaa, and Juhaina joined the Islamic force. Muslim forces

marched towards Makkah and camped at Marr Zahran. They surrounded the holy city on 7

Ramadhan. The Quraish were perplexed with this sudden attack. Muslims also sealed all the

routes of escape. The holy Prophet declared a general amnesty and the whole city surrendered to

him on 10 Ramadhan (6AH) without bloodshed (except a few by Khalid bin Waleed) This was a

great gift of Hudaibiyah Treaty.

It was also a matter of great significance that great warriors and arch enemies of Islam realized

the situation and embraced Islam after Hudaibiyah treaty and before the conquest of Makkah.

These included Prophet's uncle Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib; Abu Sufyan the CNC of Quraish;

Khalid bin Waleed, the great conqueror; and Amr ibn al Aas, the later conqueror of Egypt. Later,

Ikrema bin Abu Jehal, Uteba bin Abi Lahab, Safwan bin Umayyah, Kaab bin Zuhair, Sohail bin

Amr, Hakim bin Hizam, Wahshi the killer of Hamza and Hindah bint Rabia, the cruel lady

embraced Islam. Practically there remained no enemy of Islam in Makkah. The Makkan

leadership which banned his entry to the city in 6 AH welcomed him as their head within 22

months. This was a great achievement of Hudaibiyah.

Thus were the important events connected with an unknown place called Hudaibiyah near

Makkah Al-Mukarramah. Later people visited this historical place and a mosque was erected at

the place where holy Prophet (peace be upon him) offered prayers during his stay. This mosque

near Shumaisi lies about 20 km away from Makkah on the old road leading to Jeddah. When you

visit this place, think about the people who took an oath under an acacia tree to sacrifice their

lives for the sake of Islam and pray for them.

49. Surah Al-Hujuraat (The Dwellings)

This sura is combination of advices made at different times in Madina

First five ayat are manners/ettiquettes of behabiour towars the prophet, saw.

Then certain

49-1. O you who believe! Do not put (yourselves) forward before Allah and His Messenger (), and fear Allah. Verily! Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

49-2. O you who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet (), nor speak aloud to him in talk as you speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds may be rendered fruitless while you perceive not.

49-3. Verily! Those who lower their voices in the presence of Allah's Messenger (), they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for piety. For them is forgiveness and a great reward.

49-4. Verily! Those who call you from behind the dwellings, most of them have no sense.

49-5. And if they had patience till you could come out to them, it would have been better for them. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

General behaviour advices

49-6. O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done.

49-7. And know that, among you there is the Messenger of Allah (). If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble, but Allah has endeared the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allah and His Messenger ) hateful to you. These! They are the rightly guided ones,

49-8. (This is) a Grace from Allah and His Favour. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

Page 18: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

49-9. And if two parties or groups among the believers fall to fighting, then make peace between them both, but if one of them rebels against the other, then fight you (all) against the one that which rebels till it complies with the Command of Allah; then if it complies, then make reconciliation between them justly, and be equitable. Verily! Allah loves those who are equitable.

49-10. The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy.

11. O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group, it may be that the latter are better than the former; nor let (some) women scoff at other women, it may be that the latter are better than the former, nor defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it, to insult one's brother after having Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother (a faithful believer) as: "O sinner", or "O wicked", etc.]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc.).

49-12. O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting) . And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.

This Ayat advises equality of mankind and that no superiority can be made based on ethnicity, colour, culture, languageet etc

49-13. O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa . Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

Difference between Muslim and Momin

49-14. The bedouins say: "We believe." Say: "You believe not but you only say, 'We have surrendered (in Islam),' for Faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you obey Allah and His Messenger (), He will not decrease anything in reward for your deeds. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

49-15. Only those are the believers who have believed in Allah and His Messenger, and afterward doubt not but strive with their wealth and their lives for the Cause of Allah. Those! They are the truthful.

49-16. Say: "Will you inform Allah about your religion? While Allah knows all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and Allah is All-Aware of everything.

49-17. They regard as favour upon you (O Muhammad ) that they have embraced Islam. Say: "Count not your Islam as a favour upon me. Nay, but Allah has

Page 19: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

conferred a favour upon you, that He has guided you to the Faith, if you indeed are true.

49-18. Verily, Allah knows the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.

50. Surah Qaf

This sura was revealed in Mecca, and Explains the CONCEPT of RESURRECTION. In deail and so beautifully dialogued manner that one should be able to mcomprehend and believe so easily . It could only be denied by one who

has made up his mind not to accept the TRUTH.

To me, the best argument is that when it rains greenery appears all of a sudden from no where. This shows the seeds of greenery were there in the barren soil but not visible to human eues. Similarly, the pieces of human dead body are there in

the soil, they will regroup in human body just on a call which they will understand. Allah ,swt, also argues to show His powers to create this universe

and mentions that He did not feel any fatigue after that, niether He does in running it orr recreating it.

50-1. Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an.

50-2. Nay, they wonder that there has come to them a warner (Muhammad ) from among themselves. So the disbelievers say: "This is a strange thing!

50-3. "When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be resurrected?) That is a far return."

50-4. We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees).

50-5. Nay, but they have denied the truth (this Qur'an) when it has come to them, so they are in a confused state (can not differentiate between right and wrong).

50-6. Have they not looked at the heaven above them, how We have made it and adorned it, and there are no rifts in it?

Page 20: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

50-7. And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants).

50-8. An insight and a Reminder for every slave turning to Allah (i.e. the one who believes in Allah and performs deeds of His obedience, and always begs His pardon).

50-9. And We send down blessed water (rain) from the sky, then We produce therewith gardens and grain (every kind of harvests) that are reaped.

50-10. And tall date-palms, with ranged clusters;

50-11. A provision for (Allah's) slaves. And We give life therewith to a dead land. Thus will be the resurrection (of the dead).

50-12. Denied before them the people of Nuh (Noah), and the dwellers of Rass, and the Thamud,

50-13. And 'Ad, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and the brethren of Lout (Lot),

50-14. And the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba'; everyone of them denied (their) Messengers, so My Threat took effect.

50-15. Were We then tired with the first creation? Nay, They are in confused doubt about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection)?

50-16. And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge).

50-17. (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions) .

50-18. Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).

50-19. And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!"

50-20. And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).

50-21. And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness.

Page 21: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

59-22. (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!"

50-23. And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!"

50-24. (And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.).

50-25. "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter,

60-26. "Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment."

5027. His companion (Satan devil)] will say: "Our Lord! I did not push him to transgress, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray."

50-28. Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat.

50-29. The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves."

50-30. On the Day when We will say to Hell: "Are you filled?" It will say: "Are there any more (to come)?"

50-31. And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2) not far off.

50-32. (It will be said): "This is what you were promised, - (it is) for those oft-returning (to Allah) in sincere repentance, and those who preserve their covenant with Allah (by obeying Him in all what He has ordered, and worship none but Allah Alone, i.e. follow Allah's Religion, Islamic Monotheism).

50-33. "Who feared the Most Beneficent (Allah) in the Ghaib (unseen): (i.e. in this worldly life before seeing and meeting Him), and brought a heart turned in repentance (to Him - and absolutely free from each and every kind of polytheism),

50-34. "Enter you therein in peace and security; this is a Day of eternal life!"

50-35. There they will have all that they desire, and We have more (for them, i.e. a

glance at the All-Mighty, All-Majestic ).

Page 22: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

50-36. And how many a generation We have destroyed before them, who were stronger in power than them, and (when Our Torment came) they ran for a refuge in the land! Could they find any place of refuge (for them to save themselves from destruction)?

50-37. Verily, therein is indeed a reminder for him who has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful.

50-38. And indeed We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in six Days and nothing of fatigue touched Us.

50-39. So bear with patience (O Muhammad ) all that they say, and glorify the Praises of your Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting (i.e. the Fajr, Zuhr, and 'Asr prayers) .

50-40. And during a part of the night (also), glorify His praises (i.e. Maghrib and 'Isha prayers), and (so likewise) after the prayers [As-Sunnah, Nawafil optional and additional prayers, and also glorify, praise and magnify Allah - Subhan Allah, Alhamdu lillah, Allahu-Akbar].

50-41. And listen on the Day when the caller will call from a near place,

50-42. The Day when they will hear As-Saihah (shout, etc.) in truth, that will be the Day of coming out (from the graves i.e. the Day of Resurrection).

50-43. Verily, We it is Who give life and cause death; and to Us is the final return,

50-44. On the Day when the earth shall be cleft, from off them, (they will come out) hastening forth. That will be a gathering, quite easy for Us.

50-45. We know of best what they say; and you (O Muhammad ) are not a tyrant over them (to force them to Belief). But warn by the Qur'an, him who fears My Threat.

Page 23: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

51. Surah Adh-Dhariyat (The Winds that Scatter)

This sura was revealed in Mecca. Its main topics are the Aakhrat or life in the next world, and unity of Creator or Tauheed.

Allah.swt, swears and then says And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen

51-1. By (the winds) that scatter dust.

51-2. And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water;

51-3. And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness;

51-4. And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command;-

51-5. Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true.

51-6. And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen.

51-7. By the heaven full of paths,

51-8. Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad and the Qur'an).

51-9. Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad and the Qur'an) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah).

51-10. Cursed be the liars,

51-11. Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter),

51-12. They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?"

51-13. (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire!

51-14. "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!"

Page 24: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

Believers state on Day of Judgment

51-15. Verily, the Muttaqun will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise),

51-16. Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V.2:112).

51-17. They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope].

51-18. And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness,

51-19. And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others) ,

51-20. And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty,

51-21. And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see?

51-22. And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised.

51-23. Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak.

Story of Hazrat Abraham is related to teach/remind Quraish many lessons of which they already knew

51-24. Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)?

51-25. When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you )," and said: "You are a people unknown to me,"

51-26. Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows].

51-27. And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?"

51-28. Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism).

Page 25: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

51-29. Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!"

51-30. They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower."

51-31. [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?"

51-32. They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah);

51-33. To send down upon them stones of baked clay.

51-34. Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins).

51-35. So We brought out from therein the believers.

51-36. But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters].

51-37. And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea , well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment.

51-38. And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority.

51-39. But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman."

51-40. So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed.

51-41. And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind;

51-42. It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins.

51-43. And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!"

51-44. But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking.

Page 26: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

51-. Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves.

51-46. (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

51-47. With power did We construct the heaven. Verily, We are Able to extend the vastness of space thereof.

51-48. And We have spread out the earth, how Excellent Spreader (thereof) are We!

51-49. And of everything We have created pairs, that you may remember (the Grace of Allah).

51-50. So flee to Allah (from His Torment to His Mercy Islamic Monotheism), verily, I (Muhammad ) am a plain warner to you from Him.

51-51. And set not up (or worship) any other ilahan (god) along with Allah [Glorified be He (Alone), Exalted above all that they associate as partners with Him]. Verily, I (Muhammad ) am a plain warner to you from Him.

51-52. Likewise, no Messenger came to those before them, but they said: "A sorcerer or a madman!"

People pf every prophet make the same arguments and it looks people of the past have transmitted these to them, but in actual fact humans cannot invent any other

argumens than these

51-53. Have they (the people of the past) transmitted this saying to these (Quraish pagans)? Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds (in disbelief)!

51-54. So turn away (O Muhammad ) from them (Quraish pagans) you are not to be blamed (as you have conveyed Allah's Message).

51-55. And remind (by preaching the Qur'an, O Muhammad ) for verily, the reminding profits the believers.

51-56. And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).

51-57. I seek not any provision from them (i.e. provision for themselves or for My creatures) nor do I ask that they should feed Me (i.e. feed themselves or My creatures).

Page 27: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

51-58. Verily, Allah is the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong.

51-59. And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a portion of torment like to the evil portion of torment (which came for) their likes (of old), so let them not ask Me to hasten on!

51-60. Then, woe to those who disbelieve (in Allah and His Oneness Islamic Monotheism) from (that) their Day which they have been promised (for their punishment).

52. Surah At-Tur (The Mount)

This is a Meccan sura of early days of preaching. The sura starts with the reality and certaintity of Dooms Day and howwill take place. The details of the

punishment for disbelievers and reward for believers.

Then God answers the questions raised by leaders of Quraish about authenticity of Quran and the prophet hood.

Then god questions the wrong beliefs ofdisbelievers. This dialogue covers beautifully most attributes of Allaha, His powers, to convince any thinkng man to believe in the Creator, which naturally means they will have no choice but to

believe in what He says after theswears in the beginning of the talk/address/dialogue.

Allah swears and then tells that Qiyamat ,accountability and reward and punishment is a reality. When we swear,it is to emphasize that what we are going to say now is hundred percent Truth. When God swears, How real the threat will

be, we should be able to guess and the accept it.

52-1. By the Mount; 52-2. And by the Book Inscribed.

52-3. In parchment unrolled. 52-4. And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels);

52-5. And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). 52-6. And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection).

Page 28: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

Now Allah describes the threat

52-7. Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass,

52-8. There is none that can avert it;

52-9. On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking,

52-10. And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement.

52-11. Then woe that Day to the beliers;

52-12. Who are playing in falsehood .

52-13. The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing.

52-14. This is the Fire which you used to belie.

52-15. Is this magic, or do you not see?

52-16. Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do.

Now God describes the reward for believers

52-17. Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight.

52-18. Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire.

52-19. "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do."

52-20. They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes.

52-21. And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned.

52-22. And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire.

52-23. There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink).

Page 29: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

52-24. And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls.

52-25. And some of them draw near to others, questioning.

52-26. Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah).

52-27. "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire.

52-28. "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful."

52-29. Therefore, remind and preach (mankind, O Muhammad of Islamic Monotheism). By the Grace of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor a madman.

52-30. Or do they say: "(Muhammad is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time.!"

52-31. Say (O Muhammad to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!"

52-32. Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad )] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief).

52-33. Or do they say: "He (Muhammad ) has forged it (this Qur'an)?" Nay! They believe not!

52-34. Let them then produce a recital like unto it (the Qur'an) if they are truthful.

52-35. Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?

52-36. Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief.

52-37. Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like?

52-38. Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof.

52-39. Or has He (Allah) only daughters and you have sons?

Page 30: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

52-40. Or is it that you (O Muhammad ) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt?

52-41. Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down?

52-42. Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad )? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) are themselves in a plot!

52-43. Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him)

52-44. And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!"

52-45. So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror).

52-46. The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell).

52-47. And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36].

52-48. So wait patiently (O Muhammad ) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes , and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep.

52-49. And in the night-time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars.

Page 31: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

53. Surah An-Najm (The Star)

This is the sura was revealed in Mecca around 5 hijri. This is the sura in which Ayat sajjada was revealed. When the Holy prophet, saw, read out this sura in a gathering of believerslievers and did a Sajda after reading the ayat, it was so

powrful that even all disbelivers did the sajda except . a few.

The sura starts with clearing objectios raise on the prophethood of prophet Muhammad, saw, especially by God telling them that the prophet had seen the

angel who brings Gos’s messages .

Then God clears their misconceptions and wrong beliefs. They are also told that right and wrong is what the Creator declares. Then arabs are told that the prophet

is not bringing a new religions but is just renwing the message give to prophet Abraham and Ismael, their fore fathers.

Allah Clears all misconceptions/objections on the Prophet,Saw,

53-1. By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes).

53-2. Your companion (Muhammad ) has neither gone astray nor has erred.

53-3. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.

53-4. It is only an Inspiration that is inspired.

53-5. He has been taught (this Qur'an) by one mighty in power [Jibrael (Gabriel)].

53-6. Dhu Mirrah (free from any defect in body and mind), Fastawa [then he (Jibrael - Gabriel) rose and became stable]. [Tafsir At-Tabari].

53-7. While he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon,

53-8. Then he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] approached and came closer,

53-9. And was at a distance of two bows' length or (even) nearer,

53-10. So did (Allah) convey the Inspiration to His slave [Muhammad through Jibrael (Gabriel)].

53-11. The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad ) saw.

Page 32: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

53-12. Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad ) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet over the seven heavens)] .

53-13. And indeed he (Muhammad ) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time).

53-14. Near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha [lote-tree of the utmost boundary (beyond which none can pass)],

53-15. Near it is the Paradise of Abode.

53-16. When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it!

53-17. The sight (of Prophet Muhammad ) turned not aside (right or left), nor it transgressed beyond (the) limit (ordained for it).

53-18. Indeed he (Muhammad ) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah).

Allah raises questions on disbelievers’ wrong beliefs that they are absurd and basless. They follow but a guess, and verily, guess is no substitute for the truth.

53-19. Have you then considered Al-Lat, and Al-'Uzza (two idols of the pagan Arabs)

53-20. And Manat (another idol of the pagan Arabs), the other third?

53-21. Is it for you the males and for Him the females?

22. That indeed is a division most unfair!

53-23. They are but names which you have named, you and your fathers, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire, whereas there has surely come to them the Guidance from their Lord!

53-24. Or shall man have what he wishes?

53-25. But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world).

53-26. And there are many angels in the heavens, whose intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He wills and pleases.

53-27. Verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.

Page 33: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

53-28. While they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and verily, guess is no substitute for the truth.

53-29. Therefore withdraw (O Muhammad ) from him who turns away from Our Reminder (this Qur'an) and desires nothing but the life of this world.

53-30. That is what they could reach of knowledge. Verily, your Lord it is He Who knows best him who goes astray from His Path, and He knows best him who receives guidance.

53-31. And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, that He may requite those who do evil with that which they have done (i.e. punish them in Hell), and reward those who do good, with what is best (i.e. Paradise).

53-32. Those who avoid great sins (see the Qur'an, Verses: 6:152,153) and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.) except the small faults, verily, your Lord is of vast forgiveness. He knows you well when He created you from the earth (Adam), and when you were fetuses in your mothers' wombs. So ascribe not purity to yourselves. He knows best him who fears Allah and keep his duty to Him [i.e. those who are Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2)].

Reference is made to previous prophets to show Islam is continuation of teachings of them ,nothing new invented by the prophet.

53-33. Did you (O Muhammad ) observe him who turned away (from Islam).

53-34. And gave a little, then stopped (giving)?

53-35. Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees?

53-36. Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses),

53-37. And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey),

53-38. That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another.

53-39. And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad) ,

53-40. And that his deeds will be seen,

53-41. Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense

53-42. And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything).

Page 34: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

53-43. And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep;

53-44. And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life;

53-45. And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female,

53-46. From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted;

53-47. And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection);

53-48. And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment),

53-49. And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship);

53-50. And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people),

53-51. And Thamud (people). He spared none of them.

53-52. And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)].

53-53. And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent].

53-54. So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones).

53-55. Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt.

At the end disbelievers are told clearly that the Messangers only brings message from the king, accepting it or rejecting it everyones own business and also to face the consequences as well.

53-56. This (Muhammad ) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old .

53-57. The Day of Resurrection draws near,

53-58. None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it).

Page 35: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

53-59. Do you then wonder at this recital (the Qur'an)?

53-60. And you laugh at it and weep not,

53-61. Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.).

53-62. So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone).

54. Surah Al-Qamar (The Moon)

This sura was revealed in Mecca when the prophet showed them the miracle of moon splitting into two piices clearly tha one piece could be seen on one side of hills and the other on the opposite side, then both pieces joined together. This

was a proof that on Day of Qitamat, all the universe will be destroyed by Allah as told by quran and the messenger. But meccans called it a magic.

They are niether learning from preaching, nor from the miracle, nor from stories of the previous prophets . They will beliebe only when they are actually reborn

and see it themselves

The Miracle of Splitting and then rejoining of moon

54-1. The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).

54-2. And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic."

54-3. They belied (the Verses of Allah, this Qur'an), and followed their own lusts. And every matter will be settled [according to the kind of deeds (for the doer of good deeds, his deeds will take him to Paradise, and similarly evil deeds will take their doers to Hell)].

54-4. And indeed there has come to them news (in this Qur'an) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil),

54-5. Perfect wisdom (this Qur'an), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not,

Page 36: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

54-6. So (O Muhammad ) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing.

54-7. They will come forth, with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad,

54-8. Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: "This is a hard Day."

Now the stories of previous prophets are told to them but they reject them that these are mere stories of old times and are not correct.

People of NUH did not believe in his Message and see what was their end.

54-9. The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened.

54-10. Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!"

54-11. So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth.

54-12. And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined.

54-13. And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails,

54-14. Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected!

54-15. And indeed, We have left this as a sign, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

54-16. Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?

54-17. And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

People of AAD also did not believe and see their end

54-18. 'Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hud), then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?

54-19. Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity.

Page 37: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

54-20. Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms.

54-21. Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?

54-22. And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

People of thamood also did not believe and see their end

54-23. Thamud (people also) belied the warnings.

54-24. For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!"

54-25. "Is it that the Reminder is sent to him [Prophet Salih (Saleh)] alone from among us? Nay, he is an insolent liar!"

54-26. Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one!

54-27. Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient!

54-28. And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns).

54-29. But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her).

54-30. Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?

54-31. Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.), and they became like the dry stubble of a fold-builder.

54-32. And indeed, We have made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

People of prophet LUT also did not believe and see their end

54-33. The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings.

54-34. Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night,

54-35. As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us).

Page 38: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

54-36. And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings!

54-37. And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."

54-38. And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning.

54-39. "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."

54-40. And indeed, We have made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

People of FIRAUN also did not believe and see their end

54-41. And indeed, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) [through Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)].

54-42. (They) belied all Our Signs, so We seized them with a Seizure of the All-Mighty, All-Capable to carry out what he Will (Omnipotent).

Allah ,swt, asks Quraish, if thet think they are special people that torment will not come to them

54-43. Are your disbelievers (O Quraish!) better than these [nations of Nuh (Noah), Lout (Lot), Salih (Saleh), and the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), etc., who were destroyed)? Or have you an immunity (against Our Torment) in the Divine Scriptures?

54-44. Or do they say: "We are a great multitude, and we shall be victorious.?"

54-45. Their multitude will be put to flight, and they will show their backs.

5446. Nay, but the Hour is their appointed time (for their full recompense), and the Hour will be more grievous and more bitter.

54-47. Verily, the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.) are in error (in this world) and will burn (in the Hell-fire in the Hereafter).

54-48. The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!"

Page 39: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

54-49. Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation, as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).

54-50. And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye.

54-51. And indeed, We have destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

54-52. And each and everything they have done is noted in (their) Records (of deeds).

54-53. And everything, small and big is written (in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz already beforehand i.e. before it befalls, or is done by its doer) (See the Qur'an V.57:22).

54-54. Verily, The Muttaqun (pious), will be in the midst of Gardens and Rivers (Paradise).

54-55. In a seat of truth (i.e. Paradise), near the Omnipotent King (Allah, the All-Blessed, the Most High, the Owner of Majesty and Honour).

55. Surah Ar-Rahman (The Most Gracious)

This sura repeats one ayat many times;-“ Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny

The holy prophet once remarked ,when he saw people not answering this question, that he had recited this sura to Jinns, and evry time they answered,WE

DON’T DENY AND BLESSINS AND we say ALL PRAISES ARE FOR ALLAH. I read this hadis first time todat,6 dec 2017. We should reply yo

Allah’s,swt, question every time in the same way as the jinns did. If we conscuiosly do that, then we cannot go astray.

This is the only sura which ddresses both human beings and jinns, indicationg that the prophethood of our prophet is also applicable to jinns as well.

.

Page 40: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

55-1. The Most Beneficent (Allah)!

55-2. Has taught (you mankind) the Qur'an (by His Mercy).

55-3. He created man.

55-4. He taught him eloquent speech.

In ayat 5,6,7, Allah, swt, has described that sun and moon follow designed coursr following fixed physical laws. Similarly all herbs and trees all follow fixed and

designed bilological laws. Prostration of trees is indicative of obediensce to the laws and respect infront of superior persons ,here meaning the Creator,Allah, swt.

The balance is where the designed machine performs perfectly, like man walikng on rope keeps his body weight , or centre of gravity( CG), is balnced such that is vertical to the ground. If his body slightly tilts changing CG, he will fall down. Car wheels are balanced by balancing weights attached at critical points on the rim

so that it revolves smoothly.if one balncing weight drops, the wheel start wobbling side to side. When allah, swt, says weigh the things equitably and donot make weight deficient, He mean do not socially upset the society’s balance. This amounts to cheating the buye resulting in monetary damage, wrong intentions, selfishness, haram income, undur pfrofit, loss of brotherhood. This spoils the

morality, unity, cohesion in the society. Which has been termed FASAD,mishief . This has been called disease of the heart.

The more I relate the teachings of Quran to sociology, the more clear it becomes in my mind that why we muslims are in such a state of slavey to other nations. Not knowing Human Social forces, principles, laws, designed by Allah, swt, for living on this earth, we have not developed a Social Sense. We view every thing from religious angle. My this observation should trigger every ones mind to each

word and ayat of Quran, and see its social implications. In the nut shell is, KEEPING OUR INTENTIONS OR NIYYAT STRAIGHT is actually keeping society

socially BALANCED< And that that is what will be judged on the Day of Judgement

Hypocrisy has been termed FASAD in sura Baqara, verses 6 to 11. This has been termen CHEATING YOURSELF, not others and a disease of the Heart. The man who weighs less is cheating himself and does not know he will lose in next world as well, because of bad intentions.

So in nutsell, human beings, and jinns, should not transgress the limits of decision making in all publicdealings and must follow what has been ordained , that amounto Practicing Justice

55-35. There will be sent against you both, smokeless flames of fire and (molten) brass, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.

55-39. So on that Day no question will be asked of man or jinn as to his sin, (because they have already been known from their faces either white or black).

55-40. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

55-41. The Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, sinners, etc.) will be known by their marks (black faces), and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.

Allah swt, descrbes th basic philosophy of Obedience and Discipline, which is that If any one is afraid of displeasing his elders out of love for them or for fear of

punishment and as a result of social disgrace, and as social responsibility towards the community, he will follow the rules in letter and spirit. Those who

donot care for following the laws of God, Laws od the land, Laws of society, they are rebellious ones, and disturbe the balance of a society, and are always

punished.

It is our daily experience also we find that those who follow the rules are liked by parents, teachers, officers, boss etc and are the ones who are rewarded. Same

rule is used by allah, swt, and in subsequent ayat only the rewards are described. In the preceding ayat the punishment for rebllious was mentioned.

55-46. But for him who fears the standing before his Lord, there will be two Gardens (i.e. in Paradise).

56. Surah Al-Waqi'ah (The Event)

This sura is Makki and revealed around 5th year of nabuwwat. Its topics are Tauheed, Life after death, Quran. Disbeleivers considerd the Resurrection and

accountability a remote possibilty.

Therefore Allah ,swt, explains them further the way it will happen that people will be divided into three categoriyes. First the earliest muslims who struggled to

establisg Islam, second Believers till qiyamat, third all those who die as disbeliers till qiyamat. Their rewards and punishments have been elaborated as

an information for them to get scared

This sermon / dialogue is self explanatory, and beautifully elaborated for thinking and making decision to accept the Divine Message. It starts with qiyamat and

then builds up the arguments

56-1. When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls.

56-2. And there can be no denying of its befalling.

56-3. It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt;

56-4. When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake.

56-5. And the mountains will be powdered to dust.

56-56-6. So that they will become floating dust particles.

Division of people into three categories

56-7. And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups).

56-8. So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise).

56-9. And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell).

Page 47: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

56-10. And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise).

Foremost believers

56-11. These will be those nearest to Allah.

56-12. In the Gardens of delight (Paradise).

56-13. A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam).

56-14. And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations).

56-15. (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones,

56-16. Reclining thereon, face to face.

56-17. They will be served by immortal boys,

56-18. With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine,

56-19. Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication.

56-20. And fruit; that they may choose.

56-21. And the flesh of fowls that they desire.

56-22. And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious),

56-23. Like unto preserved pearls.

56-24. A reward for what they used to do.

56-25. No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.).

26. But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace) !

Page 48: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

Believers till Qiyamat, Muslims who will be given result car in their right hand

56-27. And those on the Right Hand, - Who will be those on the Right Hand?

56-28. (They will be) among thornless lote-trees,

56-29. Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another,

56-30. In shade long-extended,

56-31. By water flowing constantly,

56-32. And fruit in plenty,

56-33. Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off,

56-34. And on couches or thrones, raised high.

56-35. Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation.

56-36. And made them virgins.

56-37. Loving (their husbands only), equal in age.

56-38. For those on the Right Hand.

56-39. A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam).

56-40. And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations).

Disbelievers till Qiyamat, who will be given result car in their left hands

56-41. And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand?

56-42. In fierce hot wind and boiling water,

56-43. And shadow of black smoke,

56-44. (That shadow) neither cool, nor (even) good,

56-45. Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury,

Page 49: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

56-46. And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allah, committing murders and other crimes, etc.)

56-47. And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected?

56-48. "And also our forefathers?"

56-49. Say (O Muhammad ): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times.

56-50. "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day.

56-51. "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)!

56-52. "You verily will eat of the trees of Zaqqum.

56-53. "Then you will fill your bellies therewith,

56-54. "And drink boiling water on top of it,

56-55. "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!"

56-56. That will be their entertainment on the Day of Recompense!

Allah, swt, wants to convine them by asking questions, the answers to which,if truthfully given will result in immediate acceptance oF Allah,

the only Ilah.

56-57. We created you, then why do you believe not?

56-58. Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit.

56-59. Is it you who create it (i.e. make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator?

56-60. We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable,

56-61. To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not.

56-62. And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed?

56-63. Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground.

56-64. Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower?

Page 50: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

56-65. Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment).

56-66. (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spend for cultivation, etc.)! [See Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 17, Page 219]

56-67. "Nay, but we are deprived!"

56-68. Tell Me! The water that you drink.

56-69. Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down?

56-70. If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)?

56-71. Tell Me! The fire which you kindle,

56-72. Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?

56-73. We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all the others, in this world).

56-74. Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.

Arguments about authenticity of Quran

56-75. So I swear by Mawaqi (setting or the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse).

56-76. And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know.

56-77. That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Qur'an).

56-78. In a Book well-guarded (with Allah in the heaven i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).

56-79. Which (that Book with Allah) none can touch but the purified (i.e. the angels).

56-80. A Revelation (this Qur'an) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

56-81. Is it such a talk (this Qur'an) that you (disbelievers) deny?

Page 51: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

56-82. And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)!

56-83. Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat?

56-84. And you at the moment are looking on,

56-85. But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol.27, Page 209]

56-86. Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.)

56-87. Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful?

56-88. Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah),

56-89. (There is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise).

56-90. And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand,

56-91. Then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand.

56-92. But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism),

56-93. Then for him is entertainment with boiling water.

56-94. And burning in Hell-fire.

56-95. Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty.

56-96. So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.

Page 52: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

57. Surah Al-Hadid (Iron)

This sura was revealed at Madina between 5 and 6 hijri. The subject discussed is spending in the war effort. Those who spent before the battlae and those who

spent after the battle from war spolis cannot be equal.

When Allah describes himself, it is to tell the audience how great is the personality who is talkng to them, therfore, they should give lthat evel of

importance to what he says. And that if they do not listen and act ,then he is powerful to retaliate and punish them.

57-1. Whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the All-Mighty, All-Wise.

57-2. His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, It is He Who gives life and causes death; and He is Able to do all things.

57-3. He is the First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), the Most High (nothing is above Him) and the Most Near (nothing is nearer than Him). And He is the All-Knower of every thing.

57-4. He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and then Istawa (rose over) the Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). He knows what goes into the earth and what comes forth from it, what descends from the heaven and what ascends thereto. And He is with you (by His Knowledge) wheresoever you may be. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.

57-5. His is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And to Allah return all the matters (for decision).

57-6. He merges night into day (i.e. the decrease in the hours of the night is added into the hours of the day), and merges day into night (i.e. the decrease in the hours of the day is added into the hours of the night), and He has full knowledge of whatsoever is in the breasts.

This is a very important ayat from Islami point of view and is a policy declartion by Allah, swst, that the wealth given to humans is not their property but is given as a trust from Allah to be spent as He desires.

When one dies, wealth is left behind and must be divided as He Commands

Page 53: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

57-7. Believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and spend of that whereof He has made you trustees. And such of you as believe and

spend (in Allah's Way), theirs will be a great reward.

57-8. And what is the matter with you that you believe not in Allah! While the Messenger (Muhammad ) invites you to believe in your Lord (Allah), and He (Allah) has indeed taken your covenant, if you are real believers.

57-9. It is He Who sends down manifest Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to His slave (Muhammad ) that He may bring you out from darkness into light. And verily, Allah is to you full of kindness, Most Merciful.

57-10. And what is the matter with you that you spend not in the Cause of Allah? And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah) (with those among you who did so later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to all, Allah has promised the best (reward). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

57-11. Who is he that will lend to Allah a goodly loan, then (Allah) will increase it manifold to his credit (in repaying), and he will have (besides) a good reward (i.e. Paradise).

57-12. On the Day you shall see the believing men and the believing women their light running forward before them and by their right hands. Glad tidings for you this Day! Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever! Truly, this is the great success!

Hypocrites wiil seek help from believers

57-13. On the Day when the hypocrites men and women will say to the believers: "Wait for us! Let us get something from your light!" It will be said: "Go back to your rear! Then seek a light!" So a wall will be put up between them, with a gate therein. Inside it will be mercy, and outside it will be torment."

57-14. (The hypocrites) will call the believers: "Were we not with you?" The believers will reply: "Yes! But you led yourselves into temptations, you looked forward for our destruction; you doubted (in Faith); and you were deceived by false desires, till the Command of Allah came to pass. And the chief deceiver (Satan) deceived you in respect of Allah."

57-15. So this Day no ransom shall be taken from you (hypocrites), nor of those who disbelieved, (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism). Your abode is the Fire, that is the proper place for you, and worst indeed is that destination.

Page 54: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

57-16. Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) to be affected by Allah's Reminder (this Qur'an), and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] before (i.e. Jews and Christians), and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

57-17. Know that Allah gives life to the earth after its death! Indeed We have made clear the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to you, if you but understand.

57-18. Verily, those who give Sadaqat (i.e. Zakat and alms, etc.), men and women, and lend to Allah a goodly loan, it shall be increased manifold (to their credit), and theirs shall be an honourable good reward (i.e. Paradise).

57-19. And those who believe in (the Oneness of) Allah and His Messengers, they are the Siddiqun (i.e. those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them), and the martyrs with their Lord, they shall have their reward and their light. But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and deny Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they shall be the dwellers of the blazing Fire.

Allah ,swt, decribes the life of this world as a play/ amusement/pomp and show, competition with each other in wealth, connections with influentials etc. All these things will finish with the death, only good deeds will be taken along in the grave. Therefore, the life of this world remains a decption. What we find that if one does

not become useful to people ,people will immediately leave them.Once one retiers from Govt posts, no one will meet them or respect them. This is the proof that

this life is a deception.

57-20. Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment.

57-21. Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allah), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.

57-22. No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allah.

57-23. In order that you may not be sad over matters that you fail to get, nor rejoice because of that which has been given to you. And Allah likes not prideful boasters.

57-24. Those who are misers and enjoin upon people miserliness (Allah is not in need of their charity). And whosoever turns away (from Faith Allah's Monotheism), then Allah is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all praise.

Justice is mentioned alongwith iron. Justice in a society keeps a society as strong as iron, because it provides social security to the Life, wealth, and honor

to the citizens, which is necssary for basic survival instinct. That creates cohesion in the population. That’s why Hazrat Ali is quoted to have said that a socity without justice cannot survive. Mr Churchil consoled their coountrymen

that so long as our courts are doing justice we will win the war.

57-25. Indeed We have sent Our Messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance (justice) that mankind may keep up justice. And We brought forth iron wherein is mighty power (in matters of war), as well as many benefits for mankind, that Allah may test who it is that will help Him (His religion), and His Messengers in the unseen. Verily, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.

57-26. And indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) and Ibrahim (Abraham), and placed in their offspring Prophethood and Scripture, and among them there is he who is guided, but many of them are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

Monsticism is not divine, because it is unnatural. It was an innovation by christians, Allah did not prescribe it for them.

57-27. Then, We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allah therewith, but that they did not observe it with the right observance. So We gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

57-28. O you who believe [in Musa (Moses) (i.e. Jews) and 'Iesa (Jesus) (i.e. Christians)]! Fear Allah, and believe too in His Messenger (Muhammad ), He will give you a double portion of His Mercy, and He will give you a light by which you shall walk (straight), and He will forgive you. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

57-29. So that the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may know that they have no power whatsoever over the Grace of Allah, and that (His) Grace is (entirely) in His Hand to bestow it on whomsoever He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.

58. Surah Al-Mujadilah (The Woman who disputes)

This sura was revealed in madina. It covers many social problems which prevailed in arab society during daur jahliyat. One such custom was to tell the

wife that you are like my mother and thus I cannot sleep with any more. This was a punishment to the wife, she was not divorces so she could not marry any one else. A woman complained to the prophet, saw, and these rules were revealed,

starting from opening verse. Allah ,swt, tells that He has set the rules and those who don’t follow will be punished.

Allah swt,

58-1. Indeed Allah has heard the statement of her (Khaulah bint Tha'labah) that disputes with you (O Muhammad ) concerning her husband (Aus bin As-Samit), and complains to Allah. And Allah hears the argument between you both. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Seer.

58-2. Those among you who make their wives unlawful (Az-Zihar) to them by saying to them "You are like my mother's back." They cannot be their mothers. None can be their mothers except those who gave them birth. And verily, they utter an ill word and a lie. And verily, Allah is Oft-Pardoning, Oft-Forgiving.

58-3. And those who make unlawful to them (their wives) (by Az-Zihar) and wish to free themselves from what they uttered, (the penalty) in that case (is) the freeing of a slave before they touch each other. That is an admonition to you (so that you may not return to such an ill thing). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

58-4. And he who finds not (the money for freeing a slave) must fast two successive months before they both touch each other. And for him who is unable to do so, he should feed sixty of Miskin (poor). That is in order that you may have perfect Faith in Allah and His Messenger. These are the limits set by Allah. And for disbelievers, there is a painful torment.

Page 57: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

58-5. Verily, those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ) will be disgraced, as those before them (among the past nation), were disgraced. And We have sent down clear Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). And for the disbelievers is a disgracing torment.

58-6. On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all together (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) and inform them of what they did. Allah has kept account of it, while they have forgotten it. And Allah is Witness over all things.

Allah ,swt, condemns secret counsels of hyopcrites telling them that He is present with them when they are planning to damage muslims. What is the advice

and ruling on secret counsels is gevn

58-7. Have you not seen that Allah knows whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth? There is no Najwa (secret counsel) of three, but He is their fourth (with His Knowledge, while He Himself is over the Throne, over the seventh heaven), nor of five but He is their sixth (with His Knowledge), not of less than that or more, but He is with them (with His Knowledge) wheresoever they may be; and afterwards on the Day of Resurrection, He will inform them of what they did. Verily, Allah is the All-Knower of everything.

58-8. Have you not seen those who were forbidden to hold secret counsels, and afterwards returned to that which they had been forbidden, and conspired together for sin and wrong doing and disobedience to the Messenger (Muhammad ). And when they come to you, they greet you with a greeting wherewith Allah greets you not, and say within themselves: "Why should Allah punish us not for what we say?" Hell will be sufficient for them, they will burn therein, and worst indeed is that destination!

58-9. O you who believe! When you hold secret counsel, do it not for sin and wrong-doing, and disobedience towards the Messenger (Muhammad ) but do it for Al-Birr (righteousness) and Taqwa (virtues and piety); and fear Allah unto Whom you shall be gathered.

58-10. Secret counsels (conspiracies) are only from Shaitan (Satan), in order that he may cause grief to the believers. But he cannot harm them in the least, except as Allah permits, and in Allah let the believers put their trust .

Allah ,swst, gives instructions on certain ettiquettes

58-11. O you who believe! When you are told to make room in the assemblies, (spread out and) make room. Allah will give you (ample) room (from His Mercy). And when you are told to rise up [for prayers, Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause), or for any other good deed], rise up. Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge. And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.

Page 58: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

58-12. O you who believe! When you (want to) consult the Messenger (Muhammad ) in private, spend something in charity before your private consultation. That will be better and purer for you. But if you find not (the means for it), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

58-13. Are you afraid of spending in charity before your private consultation (with him)? If then you do it not, and Allah has forgiven you, then (at least) perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat and obey Allah (i.e. do all what Allah and His Prophet order you to do). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

In a developing revolution ,people see things from different perspective and try to safe guard their individual interests. Allah, swst, advises on this matter

58-14. Have you (O Muhammad ) not seen those (hypocrites) who take for friends a people upon whom is the Wrath of Allah (i.e. Jews)? They are neither of you (Muslims) nor of them (Jews), and they swear to a lie while they know.

58-15. Allah has prepared for them a severe torment. Evil indeed is that which they used to do.

58-16. They have made their oaths a screen (for their evil actions). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, so they shall have a humiliating torment.

58-17. Their children and their wealth will avail them nothing against Allah. They will be (the) dwellers of the Fire, to dwell therein forever.

58-18. On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all together (for their account), then they will swear to Him as they swear to you (O Muslims). And they think that they have something (to stand upon). Verily, they are liars!

58-19. Shaitan (Satan) has overtaken them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah. They are the party of Shaitan (Satan). Verily, it is the party of Shaitan (Satan) that will be the losers!

58-20. Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), they will be among the lowest (most humiliated).

58-21. Allah has decreed: "Verily! It is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious." Verily, Allah is All-Powerful, All-Mighty.

58-22. You (O Muhammad ) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell

Page 59: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful.

59. Surah Al-Hashr (The Gathering)

This sura was revealed ay Madina after Ghazwa Uhad, around 4 hijri. According to the social contract ,Meesaq Madina, Jews were to fight alongwith muslims if

attacked by an enemy.. But Banu Nadir , jewish tribe betrayed in Uhad. Then they planned to kill the prophet when he visited them . on this they were surrounded

and after six days they surrendered on the terms that except arms, what ever they can take on camels they be allowed to take. This was agreed by the prophet, saw,

and they left Madina . This sura is about this conquest and legal matters connected with this first conques which gavw muslims land and associated

things.

59-1. Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

59-2. He it is Who drove out the disbelievers among the people of the Scripture (i.e. the Jews of the tribe of Bani An-Nadir) from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would get out. And they thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allah! But Allah's (Torment) reached them from a place whereof they expected it not, and He cast terror into their hearts, so that they destroyed their own dwellings with their own hands and the hands of the believers. Then take admonition, O you with eyes (to see).

59-3. And had it not been that Allah had decreed exile for them, He would certainly have punished them in this world, and in the Hereafter theirs shall be the torment of the Fire.

59-4. That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ). And whosoever opposes Allah, then verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.

59-5. What you (O Muslims) cut down of the palm-trees (of the enemy), or you left them standing on their stems, it was by Leave of Allah, and in order that He might disgrace the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

59-6. And what Allah gave as booty (Fai') to His Messenger (Muhammad ) from them, for which you made no expedition with either cavalry or camelry. But Allah gives power to His Messengers over whomsoever He wills. And Allah is Able to do all things.

Page 60: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

59-7. What Allah gave as booty (Fai') to His Messenger (Muhammad ) from the people of the townships, - it is for Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad ), the kindred (of Messenger Muhammad ), the orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor), and the wayfarer, in order that it may not become a fortune used by the rich among you. And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad ) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it) , and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.

59-8. (And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allah and to please Him. And helping Allah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad ). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say);-

59-9. And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them, and have no jealousy in their breasts for that which they have been given (from the booty of Bani An-Nadir), and give them (emigrants) preference over themselves, even though they were in need of that. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, such are they who will be the successful.

59-10. And those who came after them say: "Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith, and put not in our hearts any hatred against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness, Most Merciful.

Bani Nadir had political agreement with arab tribe of Madin,Banu Khazrij, whose head was a confirmed hypocrite / Munafiq Abdulla bin ubiy. At his instigation they

had plotted to kill the prophet and on his promise that if they rebell and take on muslims, his tribe will fufill the obligations of Alliance and fight on their side. But he backed out when prophet took a firm stand and surroounded the bani nadir.

59-11. Have you (O Muhammad ) not observed the hypocrites who say to their friends among the people of the Scripture who disbelieve: "(By Allah) If you are expelled, we (too) indeed will go out with you, and we shall never obey any one against you, and if you are attacked (in fight), we shall indeed help you." But Allah is Witness, that they verily, are liars.

59-12. Surely, if they (the Jews) are expelled, never will they (hypocrites) go out with them, and if they are attacked, they will never help them. And if they do help them, they (hypocrites) will turn their backs, so they will not be victorious.

59-13. Verily, you (believers in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) are more awful as a fear in their (Jews of Bani An-Nadir) breasts than Allah. That is because they are a people who comprehend not (the Majesty and Power of Allah).

Page 61: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

59-14. They fight not against you even together, except in fortified townships, or from behind walls. Their enmity among themselves is very great. You would think they were united, but their hearts are divided, that is because they are a people who understand not.

59-15. They are like their immediate predecessors (the Jews of Bani Qainuqa', who suffered), they tasted the evil result of their conduct, and (in the Hereafter, there is) for them a painful torment;-

59-16. (Their allies deceived them) like Shaitan (Satan), when he says to man: "Disbelieve in Allah." But when (man) disbelieves in Allah, Shaitan (Satan) says: "I am free of you, I fear Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!"

59-17. So the end of both will be that they will be in the Fire, abiding therein. Such is the recompense of the Zalimun (i.e. polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in Allah and in His Oneness, etc.).

Here Allah swst, advises those new muslims who still did not have firm faith

59-18. O you who believe! Fear Allah and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what you do .

59-19. And be not like those who forgot Allah (i.e. became disobedient to Allah) and He caused them to forget their ownselves, (let them to forget to do righteous deeds). Those are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

59-20. Not equal are the dwellers of the Fire and the dwellers of the Paradise. It is the dwellers of Paradise that will be successful.

59-21. Had We sent down this Qur'an on a mountain, you would surely have seen it humbling itself and rending asunder by the fear of Allah. Such are the parables which We put forward to mankind that they may reflect .

59-22. He is Allah, than Whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

59-23. He is Allah than Whom there is La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He) the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him.

Page 62: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

59-24. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names . All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

60. Surah Al-Mumtahinah (The Woman to be examined)

This sura was revealed in Madind after 10-Years No- war Pact of Hudaibiya and just before Conquest of Madina. One term of contract was that any muslim from

mecca if goes to Madina woll be returned back to mecca. When few wowmen came then the question arose about their handing over back to Meccans

Another question discussed is when a muslin tried to inform Meccans that Muslims are goiing to attack Mecca, in exchange for security of his wife and

children, but effort was foiled, and then Allah advised the muslims in clear words of consequenses.

60-1. O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Qur'an, and Muhammad ), and have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad ) and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! If you have come forth to strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these disbelievers and polytheists, etc., as your friends). You show friendship to them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal. And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, then indeed he has gone (far) astray, (away) from the Straight Path .

60-2. Should they gain the upper hand over you, they would behave to you as enemies, and stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you with evil, and they desire that you should disbelieve.

60-3. Neither your relatives nor your children will benefit you on the Day of Resurrection (against Allah). He will judge between you. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do.

60-4. Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: "Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah, we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you, hostility and hatred for ever, until you believe in Allah Alone," except the saying of Ibrahim (Abraham) to his father: "Verily, I will

Page 63: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

ask for forgiveness (from Allah) for you, but I have no power to do anything for you before Allah ." Our Lord! In You (Alone) we put our trust, and to You (Alone) we turn in repentance, and to You (Alone) is (our) final Return,

60-5. "Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the disbelievers, and forgive us, Our Lord! Verily, You, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."

60-6. Certainly, there has been in them an excellent example for you to follow, for those who look forward to (the Meeting with) Allah (for the reward from Him) and the Last Day. And whosoever turn away, then verily, Allah is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all Praise.

60-7. Perhaps Allah will make friendship between you and those whom you hold as enemies. And Allah has power (over all things), and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

60-8. Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity.

60-9. It is only as regards those who fought against you on account of religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and helped to drive you out, that Allah forbids you to befriend them. And whosoever will befriend them, then such are the Zalimun (wrong-doers those who disobey Allah).

Ayat dealing with muslim women migrating to Madina afterHudaibiya Contract

60-10. O you who believe! When believing women come to you as emigrants, examine them, Allah knows best as to their Faith, then if you ascertain that they are true believers, send them not back to the disbelievers, they are not lawful (wives) for the disbelievers nor are the disbelievers lawful (husbands) for them. But give the disbelievers that (amount of money) which they have spent [as their Mahr] to them. And there will be no sin on you to marry them if you have paid their Mahr to them. Likewise hold not the disbelieving women as wives, and ask for (the return of) that which you have spent (as Mahr) and let them (the disbelievers, etc.) ask back for that which they have spent. That is the Judgement of Allah. He judges between you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

60-11. And if any of your wives have gone from you to the disbelievers, and you have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side), then pay to those whose wives have gone, the equivalent of what they had spent (on their Mahr). And fear Allah in Whom you believe.

Page 64: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

The prophet used to take Oath of allegiance from men and wowen. But alonwith it, he used to get a commitment from each individual , depending on each indiduals

background, certan MORAL ACTIONS. The two ayat below describe these.

Our Peers take Bayit from their mureeds but donot follow Uswa Hasa. These peers only go for acts of Ibada or worship but not Moral Actions. If they had insisted on oath ONLY ON TRUTHFULNESS, our society would have been

transformed into modern society.

60-12. O Prophet! When believing women come to you to give you the Bai'a (pledge), that they will not associate anything in worship with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit illegal sexual intercourse, that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood (i.e. by making illegal children belonging to their husbands), and that they will not disobey you in any Ma'ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all that which Islam ordains) then accept their Bai'a (pledge), and ask Allah to forgive them, Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

60-13. O you who believe! Take not as friends the people who incurred the Wrath of Allah (i.e. the Jews). Surely, they have been in despair to receive any good in the Hereafter, just as the disbelievers have been in despair about those (buried) in graves (that they will not be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection).

Page 65: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

61. Surah As-Saff (The Row or the Rank)

These ayat refer to a vey common problem with human beings that they donot act what they say or preach.

61-1. Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

61-2. O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do?

61-3. Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do.

61-4. Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure .

People of prophet moses, that is Jews was maltreated by continous disobedience knowing and accepting him fully well that he was a prophet. And when prophet Jesus Christ came , Jews did not accept him. When the taurat or old testament and the Bible or New testament clearly told them in both their divine book that

Last prophet is yet to come and his name will be Ahmad, when the prophet came, they did not accept him.

This all amounts to saying some thing and not acting on it.

61-5. And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his people: "O my people! Why do you hurt me while you know certainly that I am the Messenger of Allah to you? So when they turned away (from the Path of Allah), Allah turned their hearts away (from the Right Path). And Allah guides not the people who are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

61-6. And (remember) when 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah unto you confirming the Taurat [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmed . But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad ) came to them with clear proofs, they said: "This is plain magic."

61-7. And who does more wrong than the one who invents a lie against Allah, while he is being invited to Islam? And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers) folk.

Page 66: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

61-8. They intend to put out the Light of Allah (i.e. the religion of Islam, this Qur'an, and Prophet Muhammad ) with their mouths. But Allah will complete His Light even though the disbelievers hate (it).

Allah then tells the Jews ,and christians, Islam will prevail all other religions, which have divine roots because Allah has said in Quran that, he does not

punish17-15.. And We never punish until We have sent a Messenger (to give

warning). 16-36 ;-And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community,

nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep

away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e., do not worship Taghut besides

Allah)." Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some

upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what

was the end of those who denied (the truth).(Qur'ân 16:36)

10-47 ;- And for every Ummah (a community or a nation), there is a Messenger;

when their Messenger comes, the matter will be judged between them with

justice, and they will not be wronged. (Qur'ân 10:47)

Dr Zakir Naik has proved even from the Divine books of Hindus and Budhist

Books that prophisies of Last prophet named Ahmad are given. So when

research is done truthfully the evidence becomes available thus proving that

Islam will prevail over all other religions, which were Islam , believing in La ilah

illallah.

61-9. He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islamic Monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammed ) hate (it).

Then Allah adresses the muslims

61-10. O You who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment.

61-11. That you believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know!

61-12. (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of 'Adn - Eternity ['Adn (Edn) Paradise], that is indeed the great success.

61-13. And also (He will give you) another (blessing) which you love, help from Allah (against your enemies) and a near victory. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad ) to the believers.

61-14. O you who believe! Be you helpers (in the Cause) of Allah as said 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), to Al-Hawariun (the disciples): "Who are my helpers (in the Cause) of Allah?" Al-Hawarieen (the disciples) said: "We are Allah's helpers" (i.e. we will strive in His Cause!). Then a group of the Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We gave power to those who believed against their enemies, and they became the uppermost.

62. Surah Al-Jumu'ah (Friday)

This sura was revealed in Madina, . It combines two revelations sent on different occasions. First portion was revealed after conquest of Jewish Khyber

stronghold in 7 hijri after which all the jews oppositin finished. The second portion about Friday prayers was revealev ehen on one Friday , a Caravan

carrying imported goods arrived and all muslims except 12 people left the prayers for shopping.

62-1. Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah, the King (of everything), the Holy, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

62-2. He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad ) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses, purifying them (from the filth of disbelief and polytheism), and teaching them the Book (this Qur'an, Islamic laws and Islamic jurisprudence) and Al-Hikmah (As-Sunnah: legal ways, orders, acts of worship, etc. of Prophet Muhammad ). And verily, they had been before in mainfest error;

62-3. And He has sent him (Prophet Muhammad ) also to others among them (Muslims) who have not yet joined them (but they will come). And He (Allah) is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

62-4. That is the Grace of Allah, which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Mighty Grace.

Here the Bani Israeal /Jews are mentioned because they repeatedly disobeyed their own prophet , including Moses which totally changed their nature into

Arrogance and thus not to accept any truth, create mischief. Their mischief of controlling Egypt’s economy, controlling major decision making positions had

caused Egytians to turn againgst them.

Allah says they are like a donkey who carries books on its back does not benefit it.All the prophets and divine books did not make any improvement. Even today

they are the trouble makers for the whole world by controlling american decision making through control of their economy, banking and media

62-5. The likeness of those who were entrusted with the (obligation of the) Taurat (Torah) (i.e. to obey its commandments and to practise its legal laws), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). How bad is the example (or the likeness) of people who deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah. And Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers, etc.).

62-6. Say (O Muhammad ): "O you Jews! If you pretend that you are friends of Allah, to the exclusion of (all) other mankind, then long for death if you are truthful."

62-7. But they will never long for it (death), because of what (deeds) their hands have sent before them! And Allah knows well the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers, etc.).

62-8. Say (to them): "Verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to (Allah), the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you used to do."

Here instructions are given for weekly congrgation prayers on Fridays.

From these one can see that Friday holiday is not an Islamic requirement. We are required to leave the business / office for prayers when the first azan

isannounced and after prayerswe can get back to business. Thus we can fix weekly holiday on any day.

62-9. O you who believe (Muslims)! When the call is proclaimed for the Salat (prayer) on the day of Friday (Jumu'ah prayer), come to the remembrance of Allah [Jumu'ah religious talk (Khutbah) and Salat (prayer)] and leave off business (and every other thing), that is better for you if you did but know!

62-10. Then when the (Jumu'ah) Salat (prayer) is finished, you may disperse through the land, and seek the Bounty of Allah (by working, etc.), and remember Allah much, that you may be successful.

Page 69: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

62-11. And when they see some merchandise or some amusement [beating of Tambur (drum) etc.] they disperse headlong to it, and leave you (Muhammad ) standing [while delivering Jumu'ah's religious talk (Khutbah)]. Say "That which Allah has is better than any amusement or merchandise! And Allah is the Best of providers."

62. Surah Al Jumuah (The Friday Congregation)

Name

It is derived from the sentence idha nudiya-lis-salat-imin-yaum-il- Jumu'ati of verse 9. Although

in this Surah injunctions about the Friday congregational Prayer also have been given, yet

"Jumu'ah" is not the title of its subject-matter as a whole, but this name too, like the names of

other Surahs, is only a symbolic title.

Period of Revelation

The period of the revelation of the first section (vv. 1-8) is A. H. 7, and probably it was sent

down, on the occasion of the conquest of Khaiber or soon after it. Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi,

Nasa'i and Ibn Jarir have related on the authority of Hadrat Abu Hurairah that he and other

Companions were sitting in the Holy Prophet's assembly when these verses were revealed. About

Abu Hurairah it is confirmed historically that he entered Islam after the truce of Hudaibiyah and

before the conquest of Khaiber, and Khaiber was conquered, according to Ibn Hisham, in

Muharram, and, according to Ibn Sa`d, in Jamadi al-Awwal, A.H. 7. Thus presumably Allah

might have sent down these verses, addressing the Jews, when their last stronghold had fallen to

the Muslims, or these might have been revealed when, seeing the fate of Khaiber, all the Jewish

settlements of northern Hijaz had surrendered to the Islamic government.

The second section (vv. 9-11) was sent down shortly after the emigration, for the Holy Prophet

(upon whom be Allah's peace) had established the Friday congregational Prayer on the 5th day

after his arrival at Madinah. The incident that has been referred to in the last verse of this section

must have occurred at a time when the people had not yet received full training in the etiquette of

religious congregations.

Theme and Subject Matter

As we have explained above, the two sections of this Surah were sent down in two different

periods. That is why their themes as well as their audiences are different. Although there is a kind

of harmony between them on account of which they have been put together in one Surah, yet we

should understand their themes separately before we consider the question of their harmony.

The first section was sent down at a time when all Jewish efforts to obstruct the message of Islam

during the past six years had failed. First. in Madinah as many as three of their powerful tribes

had done whatever they could to frustrate the mission of the Holy Prophet, with the result that

one of the tribes was completely exterminated and the other two were exiled. Then by intrigue

and conspiracy they brought many of the Arab tribes together to advance on Madinah, but in the

Battle of the Trench they were all repulsed. After this, Khaiber had become their stronghold,

where a large number of the Jews expelled from Madinah also had taken refuge. At the time

these verses were revealed, that too was taken without any extraordinary effort, and the Jews at

their own request agreed to live there as tenants of the Muslims. After this final defeat the Jewish

power in Arabia came to an end. Then, Wad-il-Qura, Fadak, Taima', Tabuk, all surrendered one

after the other, so much so that all Arabian Jews became subdued to the same Islam which they

Page 70: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

were not prepared to tolerate before. This was the occasion when Allah Almighty once again

addressed them in this Surah, and probably this was the last and final address that was directed to

them in the Qur'an. In this they have been reminded of three things:

"You refused to believe in this Messenger only because he was born among a people whom you

contemptuously call the "gentiles." You were under the false delusion that the Messenger must

necessarily belong to your own community. You seemed to have been convinced that anyone

who claimed to be a prophet from outside your community, must be an impostor, for this office

had been reserved for your race, and a messenger could never be raised among the "gentiles." But

among the same gentiles Allah has raised a Messenger who is reciting His Book in front of your

very eyes, is purifying souls, and showing the Right Way to the people whose misdeeds are well

known to you. This is Allah's bounty, which He may bestow on anyone He may please. You have

no monopoly over it so that He may bestow it over whomever you may please and may withhold

it from whomever you may desire it to be withheld".

"You had been made bearers of the Torah, but you did not understand your responsibility for it

nor discharged it as you should have. You are like the donkey which is loaded with books, and

which does not know what burden it is bearing. Rather you are worse than the donkey, for the

donkey is devoid of sense, but you are intelligent. You not only shirk your responsibility of being

bearers of Allah's revelations deliberately, Yet, you are under the delusion that you are Allah's

favorites and the blessing of apostleship has been reserved for you alone. More than that, you

seem to entertain the notion that whether you fulfill the demands of Allah's message or not, Allah

In any case is bound not to make any other than you the bearer of His message."

"If you really were Allah's favorites and you were sure of having a p!ace of honor and high rank

reserved with Him, you would not have feared death so much as to prefer a life of disgrace to

death. It is only because of this fear of death that you have suffered humiliation after humiliation

during the past few years. Your this condition is by itself a proof that you are fully conscious of

your misdeeds, and your conscience is aware that if you die with these misdeeds, you will meet

with a greater disgrace before Allah in the Hereafter than in this world."

This is the subject-matter of the first section. The second section that was sent down many years

later, was appended to this Surah because in it Allah has bestowed Friday on the Muslims as

against the Sabbath of the Jews, and Allah wanted to warn the Muslims not to treat their Friday

as the Jews had treated their Sabbath. This section was sent down on an occasion when a trade

caravan arrived in Madinah right at the time of the Friday congregational service and hearing its

din and drum the audience, except for 12 men, left the Prophet's Mosque and rushed out to the

caravan, although the Holy Prophet (upon whom be Allah's peace) at that time was delivering the

Sermon. Thereupon it was enjoined that after the call is sounded for the Friday Prayer all trade

and business and other occupations become forbidden. The believers should then suspend every

kind of transaction and hasten to the remembrance of Allah. However, when the Prayer is over,

they have the right to disperse in the land to resume their normal occupations. This section could

be made an independent Surah in view of the commandments that it contains about the

congregational service on Friday, and could also be included in some other Surah, but, instead, it

has been included here particularly in the verses in which the Jews have been warned of the

causes of their evil end. Its wisdom in our opinion is the same as we have explained above.

63. Surah Al-Munafiqun (The Hypocrites)

This sura was revealed in Madina after ousting Jewish tribe of Bany Mustaliq, which was partner of ansari tribe banu Khazrij, whose leader was Abdulla bin ubiyy. He

exploited a situation od personal feud into

63-1. When the hypocrites come to you (O Muhammad ), they say: "We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah." Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed.

63-2. They have made their oaths a screen (for their hypocrisy). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allah. Verily, evil is what they used to do.

63-3. That is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed, so they understand not.

63-4. And when you look at them, their bodies please you; and when they speak, you listen to their words. They are as blocks of wood propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies, so beware of them. May Allah curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from) the Right Path.

63-5. And when it is said to them: "Come, so that the Messenger of Allah may ask forgiveness from Allah for you", they turn aside their heads, and you would see them turning away their faces in pride.

63-6. It is equal to them whether you (Muhammad ) ask forgiveness or ask not forgiveness for them. Verily, Allah guides not the people who are the Fasiqin (rebellious, disobedient to Allah) .

63-7. They are the ones who say: "Spend not on those who are with Allah's Messenger, until they desert him." And to Allah belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites comprehend not.

63-8. They (hyprocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable ('Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief of hyprocrites at Al-Madinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allah's Messenger )." But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad ), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not.

63-9. O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers.

Page 72: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

63-10. And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you and he says: "My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah (i.e. Zakat) of my wealth , and be among the righteous [i.e. perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah)].

63-11. And Allah grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

Surah 63. Al-Munafiqun

إذا جاءك المنافقون قالوا نشهد إنك لرسول الله والله ي علم إنك لرسوله ﴾1:36﴿والله يشهد إن المنافقني لكاذبون

(63:1) O Prophet, when the hypocrites come to you, they say, "We bear

witness that you are indeed Allah's Messenger." Yes, Allah knows that you

are indeed His Messenger, but Allah bars witness that these Hypocrites are

utter liars. *1 *1 That is, "Although the thing they. are uttering with the tongue is true by itself,

it dces not reflect their belief. Therefore they lie when they say that they bear

witness that you are a Messenger of AIIah." Here, one should clearly understand

that an evidence or witness is composed of two things: first, the actual thing to

which one bears the witness; second, the concerned person's own belief about the

thing to which he bears the witness, Now, if the thing by itself is true and the

belief of the bearer of witness also correspons to what he says, he will be truthful

in every respect. And if the thing in itself is false; but the beater of the witness

believes it to be right and true, he will be regarded as truthful in one way, for he is

truthful in expressing his belief, and liar in another way, for the thing he is bearing

witness to is by itself false. Contrary to this, if the thing by itself is true but the

belief of the bearer of the witness is opposed to it, he will be regarded as truthful

because he is testifying to the right thing, and a liar because his own belief is

contrary to what he is saying with the tongue. For instance, if a Believer states that

Islam is a taste religion, he is truthful in every respect, but if a Jew, while he is

steadfast in his Judaism, states the same thing, he would be stating the right thing

but his evidence would be regarded 8s false, for he is testifying against his faith

and belief. And if he calls it a false religion, he would be uttering a false thing but

he would be beating a true witness according to his belief.

Page 73: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

وا عن سبيل الله إن هم ساء ما كانوا اتذوا أيان هم جنة فصد ﴾1:36﴿ي عملون

(63:2) They have made their oaths as a shield *2 and so they hinder

themselves and others from the Way of Allah. *3 Evil indeed are the deeds

that they do. *2 That is, they use the oaths that they swear to convince others of their Islam and

faith as a shield to save themselves from the wrath of the Muslims so that they do

not treat them as they treat their open enemies.

These oaths may imply the oaths which they usually swear to convince others of

their faith as well as those which they swore when they were caught committing

some hypocritical act, and also those oaths which 'Abdullah bin Ubayy had sworn

to contradict the report given by Hadrat Zaid bin Arqam. Besides these, there is

another probability that Allah might have regarded this statement of theirs as an

oath: "We bear witness that you are Allah's Messenger." This last probability has

given rise to a dispute among the jurists, namely: If a person states something with

the words: "I bear witness," will it be regarded as an oath or not? Imam Abu

Hanifah and his companions (except Imam Zufar), Imam Sufyan Thauri and Imam

Auza'i regard it as an oath (Yamin in the Shari'ah terminology). Imam Zufar says

that it is not an oath. Two sayings from Imam Malik have been reported in this

connection: first„ that it is an oath absolutely, and second, that if while saying: "I

bear witness," his intention was to say: y God, I bear witness," or "I bear witness

before God," it would he a statement on oath, otherwise not. Imam Shafe'i says:

'Even if the person says the words: "I bear witness before God." it would not be a

statement made on oath, unless he uttered these words with the intention of

swearing an oath," (AI-Jassas_, Ahkam al-Qur an; Ibn al'.Arabi. Ahkam al-Qur

an).

*3 The verb sadd in Arabic is transitive as well as intransitive. Therefore, saddu

'an sabil-Allah means; "They turn away from the Way of Allah," as well as: 'they

turn others away from the Way of AIIah." According to the first meaning the verse

would 'mean: "By means of these oaths they first plant themselves firmly among

the Muslims and then invent ways to escape fulfilling demands of the faith and to

avoid obedience to AIlah and His Messenger. " According to the second meaning

it would mean: "They use their false oaths as a cover for committing evil deeds.

Posing as Muslims they weaken the Muslim community from within: find out the

secrets of the Muslims and convey these to their enemies, create doubts about

Islam among the non-Muslims and use such devices for inspiring the simple

Muslims with evil suggestions which a hypocrite in the guise of a Muslim only

could do, for an open enemy of Islam cannot use them.

Page 74: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

﴾:1:3﴿ي فقهون ذلك بأن هم آمنوا ث كفروا فطبع على ق لوبم ف هم ل (63:3) This is because they believed and then they disbelieved. Therefore, a

seal has been set on their hearts, and so they do not understand anything. *4 *4 In this verse "believing" means professing the faith in order to be counted

among Muslims, and 'disbelieving" means not to believe sincerely and to persist in

disbelief as usual. The verse means to say that when they, after due thought,

decided to adopt this hypocritical attitude instead of adopting either belief or

disbelief plainly, Allah caused a seal to be set on their hearts and deprived them of

the grace to adopt the attitude and conduct of a true, sincere and noble person.

Now, their power of understanding has been lost, their moral sense has become

dead, and while following this way they never even feel that their habit of always

telling lies, their deceitful behaviour and the ever present contradictions between

their word and deed is a wretched state in which they have involved themselves.

This is one of those verses in which the meaning of ';causing a seal to be set on the

heart of somebody by Allah" has been made clear. These people did not become

hypocrites because Allah .had set a seal on their hearts; so faith did not enter them,

and they became hypocrites under compulsion. But, in fact, Allah set a seal on

their hearts only when they decided to persist in disbelief in spite of professing the

faith outwardly. Then, they were deprived of the capacity to believe sincerely and

of the grace of the moral attitude resulting from it. and were helped to persist in

the hypocrisy and hypocritical morals, which they had chosen to adopt for

themselves.

(63:4) And when you see them, their figures would look marvellous; when

they speak you would love to listen to what they say. *5 But in reality they

are like blocks of timber propped up against a wall *6 . They deem every

shout to be directed against them. *7 They are the real enemies, *8 so beware

of them. *9 May Allah destroy them *10 ! How are they being perverted? *11 *5 Hadrat 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas has stated that 'Abdullah bin Ubayy WAS a

strongly built, healthy, handsome and smooth-tongued person, and the same was

the case will most .of his companions. They were aII the nobles of Madinah.

Page 75: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

When they came to sit in the Holy Prophet's assembly, they would sit reclining on

cushions against the walls and would talk agreeably and convincingly. From their

outward appearance and manner of speech no one could imagine that those

honourable people of the city would be so wretched and degraded in their

character.

*6 That is, "Those who sit reclining on cushions against the walls, are not nun but

pieces of timber. Comparing them to timber is meant to imply that they are devoid

of the moral sense which is the essence of humanity Then by comparing them to

blocks of timber propped up against the walI, it has also been pointed out that they

are absolutely worthless, for the timber would be useful only when it has been

utilized in making of a ceiling, or a doorframe, or a piece of furniture. A block of

timber that has just been placed against a walI serves no useful purpose at all. "

*7 This brief sentence portrays the state of their guilty conscience. Since they fully

well knew what game of hypocrisy they were playing tinder the screen of their

superficial faith, they always remained in a state of alarm, thinking as to when the

secret of their treason might be exposed, or the believers might feel disgusted with

their evil deeds and machinations and take them co task for them. If ever a cry was

raised anywhere in the city, or a noise was heard; they inunediately grew alarmed

and thought it was directed against themselves.

*8 In other words, these hidden enemies arc more dangerous than the open

enemies.

*9 That is, "Do not be deceived by their outward appearances. Beware of them,

for they can deceive you any moment. "

*10 This is not a curse but a declaration of the verdict about them by Allah that

they have become worthy of His punishment and He will certainly inflict His

punishment on them. It is also possible that AIIah may not have used these words

in their literal sense but in the meaning of a curse and condemnation according to

Arabic idiom.

*11 It has not been pointed out as to who perverts them from belief to hypocrisy.

This by itself makes it clear that there is not one but manu factors responsible for

their perversion. There is Satan, there are their evil friends, and there are their own

selfish motives. Someone's wife or children become his motive, and someone is

driven to perversion by the evil ones in his society, or by jealousy, spite and

pride.

وإذا قيل لم ت عالوا يست غفر لكم رسول الله لووا رؤوسهم ورأي ت هم ستكبون ون وهم م ﴾1:36﴿يصد

(63:5) And when it is said to them, "Come, the Messenger of Allah will pray

Page 76: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

for your forgiveness," they shake their heads and you see them turning away

with arrogance. *12 *12 That is, they not only refuse to come to the Messenger to seek forgiveness,

but also on hearing the invitation they shake their heads with arrogance and pride,

and remain adamant, thinking that it would be disgraceful for them to approach

the Messenger to seek forgiveness. This is a clear sign that they are not believers.

له لم إن الله ل سواء عليهم أست غفرت لم أم ل تست غفر لم لن ي غفر ال ﴾1:31﴿ي هدي القوم الفاسقني

(63:6) O Prophet, whether you pray for their forgiveness, or not, it is the

same for them. Allah shall never forgive them, *13 for Allah does not guide

the transgressors. *14 *13 This thing was reiterated in Surah At-Taubah, which was sent down three

years after Surah Al-Mtutafiqun, cven in stronger words. In that Surah AIIah,

while addressing the Holy Prophet (upon whom be Allah's peace) said this about

the hypocrites: 'O Prophet (it will be aII the same) whether you beg forgiveness

for them or not, for AIIah will not forgive them even if you beg forgiveness for

them seventy times. This is because they have disbelieved in AIIah and His

Messenger, and AIlah does not show guidance to the wrongdoers." (AtTaubah:

80). A little further on in that Surah it was again said: 'And never perform the

funeral prayer for anyone of them W;10 dies nor stand at his grave, for they have

denied Allah and His Messenger and diod while they were transgressors. " (At-

Taubah: 84)

*14 Two things have been stated in this verse. First, that the prayer of forgiveness

can be beneficial only for those who are guided aright. Let alone a common man,

even if Allah's Messenger himself prays for the forgiveness of the person, who has

turned away from guidance and adopted the way of sin and transgression instead

of obedience, he cannot be forgiven. Second, that it is not Allah's way to bless

with guidance those who do not seek His guidance. If a person himself turns away

from Allah's guidance, rather shakes his head with arrogance and rejects the

invitation when he is called towards guidance, Allah has no need that He should

go after him with His guidance and implore him to come to the right path.

ل تنفقوا على من عند رسول الله حت ينفضوا ولله هم الذين ي قولون ماوات والرض ولكن المنافقني ل ي فقهون ﴾1:36﴿خزائن الس

(63:7) They are the same people who say, "Do not spend anything on the

Companions of the Prophet so that they disperse," though Allah is the

Owner of the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do

not understand .

ها الذل ولله العزة ي قولون لئن رجعنا إل المدينة ليخرجن العز من ﴾1:36﴿ولرسوله وللمؤمنني ولكن المنافقني ل ي علمون

(63:8) They say, "When we return to Madinah, the honourable ones shall

drive out from it the mean ones" *15 although honour belongs to Allah and

His Messenger and the bQlievers, *16 but the hypocrites do not know. *15 Hadrat Zaid bin Arqam says: "When I reported these words of Abdullah bin

Ubayy to the Holy Prophet, and 'Abdullah bin Ubayy came and disowned them on

oath, the elderly people of the Ansar, and cven my own uncle, reproved me for

this; so much so that I felt that the Holy Prophet also had mistaken me for a liar

and 'Abdullah bin Ubayy for a truthful person. This caused me great anguish and

grief. Then, when these verses were revealed, the Holy Prophet call-d me, and

taking hold of my car, said: "The boy's ear was truthful AIIah has himself testified

to what it had heard." (Ibn Jarir. In Tirmidhi also there is a tradition on the same

subject).

*16 That is, "All honour belongs to Allah in virtue of His essence, to the Apostle

in virtue of his Apostleship, and to the Believers in virtue of their faith. As for the

disbelievers and the wicked people and the hypocrites, they have no share

whatever in the real, true honour. "

children distract you from the remembrance of Allah. " *18 Those who do so

shall indeed be the losers. *17 Now a word of admonition is being addressed to aII those people, who have

entered Islam, whether they are true and sincere believers, or those who profess

the faith merely verbally. As we have explained at several places above. the words

alladhina amanu in the Qur'an are sometimes used to address the true believers

itself shows which group is the audience at a particular place.

*18 The mention of the possessions and the children, in particular, has been made,

for man mostly turns away from the demands of the faith for the sake of their

well-being and interests and becomes involved in hypocrisy, weakness of faith, or

wickedness and disobedience; otherwise it implies everything of the world that

allures and absorbs tnan so completely that he becomes heedless of the

remembrance of God. This heedlessness in respect of the remembrance of God is

indeed the root cause of all evil. If man only remembers that he is not free but the

servant of One God, and that God is fully aware of all his actions and deeds, and

he will by held accountable one day before Him for aII his actions and deeds, he

would never be involved in any deviation and wickedness, and if ever he commits

an error due to a human weakness, he will immediately rectify it as soon as he

comes to realize his wrongdoing and repent.

64. Surah Al-Taghabun (Mutual Loss and Gain)

64-1. Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah. His is the dominion, and to Him belong all the praises and thanks, and He is Able to do all things.

64-2. He it is Who created you, then some of you are disbelievers and some of you are believers. And Allah is All-Seer of what you do.

64-3. He has created the heavens and the earth with truth, and He shaped you and made good your shapes, and to Him is the final Return.

64-4. He knows what is in the heavens and on earth, and He knows what you conceal and what you reveal. And Allah is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men).

64-5. Has not the news reached you of those who disbelieved aforetime? And so they tasted the evil result of their disbelief, and theirs will be a painful torment.

64-6. That was because there came to them their Messengers with clear proofs (signs), but they said: "Shall mere men guide us?" So they disbelieved and turned away (from the truth), and Allah was not in need (of them). And Allah is Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all praise.

64-7. The disbelievers pretend that they will never be resurrected (for the Account). Say (O Muhammad ): "Yes! By my Lord, you will certainly be resurrected, then you will be informed of (and recompensed for) what you did, and that is easy for Allah.

64-8. Therefore, believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and in the Light (this Qur'an) which We have sent down. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

What is big success

64-9. (And remember) the Day when He will gather you (all) on the Day of Gathering, that will be the Day of mutual loss and gain (i.e. loss for the disbelievers as they will enter the Hell-fire and gain for the believers as they will enter Paradise). And whosoever believes in Allah and performs righteous good

Page 80: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

deeds, He will remit from him his sins, and will admit him to Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) to dwell therein forever, that will be the great success.

64-10. But those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) and denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they will be the dwellers of the Fire, to dwell therein forever. And worst indeed is that destination.

64-11. No calamity befalls, but with the Leave [i.e. decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allah from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], and Allah is the All-Knower of everything.

64-12. Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger (Muhammad ), but if you turn away, then the duty of Our Messenger is only to convey (the Message) clearly.

64-13. Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and in Allah (Alone), therefore, let the believers put their trust.

64-14. O you who believe! Verily, among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (i.e. may stop you from the obedience of Allah), therefore beware of them! But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

64-15. Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise).

164-6. So keep your duty to Allah and fear Him as much as you can; listen and obey; and spend in charity, that is better for yourselves. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, then they are the successful ones.

64-17. If you lend to Allah a goodly loan (i.e. spend in Allah's Cause) He will double it for you, and will forgive you. And Allah is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward, Most Forbearing,

64-18. All-Knower of the unseen and seen, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

65. Surah At-Talaaq (The Divorce)

65-1. O Prophet ()! When you divorce women, divorce them at their 'Iddah (prescribed periods), and count (accurately) their 'Iddah (periods ). And fear Allah your Lord (O Muslims), and turn them not out of their (husband's) homes, nor shall they (themselves) leave, except in case they are guilty of some open illegal sexual intercourse. And those are the set limits of Allah. And whosoever transgresses the set limits of Allah, then indeed he has wronged himself. You (the one who divorces his wife) know not, it may be that Allah will afterward bring some new thing to pass (i.e. to return her back to you if that was the first or second divorce).

65-2. Then when they are about to fulfil their term appointed, either take them back in a good manner or part with them in a good manner. And take for witness two just persons from among you (Muslims). And establish the witness for Allah. That will be an admonition given to him who believes in Allah and the Last Day. And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).

65-3. And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.

The portion of ayat, for those who have no courses [(i.e. they are still immature) their 'Iddah (prescribed period) is three months has been misunderstood by

previous fuqha. It is not because om immaturity, but because of Delayed Menarch, which could be dlyed till 21 years9 medical record). The old opinion

conflics with other ruling that a girl has to give her consent to the marriage ,after attaining puberty, only then marriage can be consumated.

65-4. And those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the 'Iddah (prescribed period), if you have doubts (about their periods), is three months, and for those who have no courses [(i.e. they are still immature) their 'Iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise, except in case of death] . And for those who are pregnant (whether they are divorced or their husbands are dead), their 'Iddah (prescribed period) is until they deliver (their burdens), and whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make his matter easy for him.

65-5. That is the Command of Allah, which He has sent down to you, and whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will remit his sins from him, and will enlarge his reward.

Page 82: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

65-6. Lodge them (the divorced women) where you dwell, according to your means, and do not treat them in such a harmful way that they be obliged to leave. And if they are pregnant, then spend on them till they deliver. Then if they give suck to the children for you, give them their due payment, and let each of you accept the advice of the other in a just way. But if you make difficulties for one another, then some other woman may give suck for him (the father of the child).

65-7. Let the rich man spend according to his means, and the man whose resources are restricted, let him spend according to what Allah has given him. Allah puts no burden on any person beyond what He has given him. Allah will grant after hardship, ease.

65-8. And many a town (population) revolted against the Command of its Lord and His Messengers, and We called it to a severe account (i.e. torment in this worldly life), and shall punish it with a horrible torment (in Hell, in the Hereafter).

65-9. So it tasted the evil result of its disbelief, and the consequence of its disbelief was loss (destruction in this life and an eternal punishment in the Hereafter).

65-10. Allah has prepared for them a severe torment. So fear Allah and keep your duty to Him, O men of understanding who have believed! - Allah has indeed sent down to you a Reminder (this Qur'an).

65-11. (And has also sent to you) a Messenger (Muhammad ), who recites to you the Verses of Allah (the Qur'an) containing clear explanations, that He may take out, those who believe and do righteous good deeds from the darkness (of polytheism and disbelief) to the light (of Monotheism and true Faith). And whosoever believes in Allah and performs righteous good deeds, He will admit him into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. Allah has indeed granted for him an excellent provision.

65-12. It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge.

Page 83: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

66. Surah At-Tahrim (The Prohibition)

This sura was revealed in madina.

It points out that what has been declared halal, it cannot be banned even by the prophet. The authority which issues the orders only that make a change or cancel

it. This point was made clear by Allah.

Second point is that people in authority are in public eyes all the time .therefore they must ensure that they ar careful what they say and do. People tend to copy

it.especially prophets’ uswa Hasana, it should not give even a idea of conflict with instructions of Allah’s directives.

This gives us an example to follow that if we see somrtinh wrong we must do something to correct iy.

Prophets and their wives remain human beings anf prone to human failings at times. But the difference betweem them and a common man is that they

immediately correct their mistake. We should do the same. We should not consider any man ,how pious a person may be, fault free, or free from making wrong decisions in religious matters. This is to top worshipping imama, peers,

leaders as fult free like Allah and thusobeying them blindly and even their wrong decisions. Unfortunately we are doing this.

66-1. O Prophet! Why do you ban (for yourself) that which Allah has made lawful to you, seeking to please your wives? And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

66-2. Allah has already ordained for you (O men), the dissolution of your oaths. And Allah is your Maula (Lord, or Master, or Protector, etc.) and He is the All-Knower, the All-Wise.

66-3. And (remember) when the Prophet () disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his wives (Hafsah), so when she told it (to another i.e. 'Aishah), and Allah made it known to him, he informed part thereof and left a part. Then when he told her (Hafsah) thereof, she said: "Who told you this?" He said: "The All-Knower, the All-Aware (Allah) has told me".

66-4. If you two (wives of the Prophet , namely 'Aishah and Hafsah) turn in repentance to Allah, (it will be better for you), your hearts are indeed so inclined (to oppose what the Prophet likes), but if you help one another against him (Muhammad ), then verily, Allah is his Maula (Lord, or Master, or Protector, etc.),

Page 84: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

and Jibrael (Gabriel), and the righteous among the believers, and furthermore, the angels are his helpers.

66-5. It may be if he divorced you (all) that his Lord will give him instead of you, wives better than you, Muslims (who submit to Allah), believers, obedient to Allah, turning to Allah in repentance, worshipping Allah sincerely, fasting or emigrants (for Allah's sake), previously married and virgins.

66-6. O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded.

66-7. (It will be said in the Hereafter) O you who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism)! Make no excuses this Day! You are being requited only for what you used to do .

This ayat refers to the procedure of crossing of bridge over hell, while going to paradise

66-8. O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance! It may be that your Lord will remit from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise) the Day that Allah will not disgrace the Prophet (Muhammad ) and those who believe with him, their Light will run forward before them and with (their Records Books of deeds) in their right hands they will say: "Our Lord! Keep perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross over the Sirat (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things ."

66-9. O Prophet (Muhammad )! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be severe against them, their abode will be Hell, and worst indeed is that destination.

This ayat clears the misunderstanding people have that a relation with a prophet or Spiritual VIP will benefit them in some way in the court of Allah. Allah clarifies that rvery individual alone will pay for his own

deeds and no intercession or support from any quarters will be allowed.

66-10. Allah sets forth an example for those who disbelieve, the wife of Nuh (Noah) and the wife of Lout (Lot). They were under two of our righteous slaves, but they both betrayed their (husbands by rejecting their doctrine) so they [Nuh (Noah) and Lout (Lot)] benefited them (their respective wives) not, against Allah, and it was said: "Enter the Fire along with those who enter!"

Page 85: QURAN MAJEED - askallah.com.pk Majeed Part 8.pdf48. Surah Al-Fath (The Victory) This sura was revealed in 6 years after Hirat/emigration to Madina and one year after GHAZWA KHANDAQ/Battle

Coversely being related to a nonbeliever will not hurt him a bit if he is a believer anf done good deeds.Allah gives the example of wife of Firaun, pharoha, who became a Muslin by accepting Moses as a prophet and believing in one God, worthy of worship. So being Firaun’s wife did not harm her a bit and she was awarded paradise for remaining steadfast in her eeman inspite ofsuffering torture at the hands of her husband.

Similarly story of Hazrat Maryam is an example for all the women, for obedience to Allah.

66-11. And Allah has set forth an example for those who believe, the wife of Fir'aun (Pharaoh), when she said: "My Lord! Build for me a home with You in Paradise, and save me from Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his work, and save me from the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers in Allah).

66-12. And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of 'Imran who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into through Our Ruh [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel)], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [i.e. believed in the Words of Allah: "Be!" and he was; that is 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary); as a Messenger of Allah], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qanitin (i.e. obedient to Allah).
