The program aims to reduce the number of feral rabbits that are damaging the City’s coastal dunes, bushland vegetation and rehabilitation sites, as well as foxes that are targeting native fauna. Controlled areas will be clearly sign posted and the City requests that all visitors keep to the formalised access tracks. Dogs are to be kept on a leash at all times in these areas, or use designated dog exercise areas. Enquiries: Conservation Team 9405 5000. City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the $2.495 million tender had been awarded to Curnow Group Pty Ltd, who will carry out the construction of a sandbag and rock revetment and sand replenishment. “We are pleased that these essential protection works can start so quickly,” Mayor Roberts said. “The City understands the concerns of local residents and they can be reassured with the knowledge that further safeguards will now be in place to combat the effects of severe erosion.” Construction of a limestone retaining wall has also been included in the scope of works as a separate item, subject to Council’s further decision based on community consultation, the outcome of the development approval application and funding considerations. From a safety perspective, Fred Stubbs Park will be closed for the duration of the construction period however the car park will remain open to the public, apart from restrictions during sand renourishment works. 1. What prompted you to stand for election as a Councillor?

Having identified the need for facilities and services in this growing and diverse ward, I chose to run as a councillor with the goal of effecting positive change in these areas.

2. In addition to forums, briefings and meetings what other bodies do you serve on in your role as a Councillor?

Community Funding Working Group and the Wanneroo Business and Tourism Development Working Group.

3. What other community groups are you involved in?

ENTRY FEES

> Entry forms and fees must be received by Thursday 17 April 2014 at 4pm. Late entries will not be accepted. Entry forms may be photocopied.

> Maximum of one entry per person. An entry fee of $25 per work applies. Cheques or money orders are to be made payable to the City of Wanneroo.

> Details on the entry forms will not be altered once received.> All entries will be judged. The judges’ decision is final.

No correspondence will be entered into. > The judges will make a selection of works for

exhibition. If your work is not selected due to space restraints you will be advised. Your entry fee will not be refunded.

> Failure to comply with the conditions of entry will result in the entrant forfeiting their entry fee.

CATEGORIES AND PRIZES> All entries will be eligible to win the City of Wanneroo Open

Award (acquisitive) and the People’s Choice Award. > Each entry must nominate one category from painting,

sculpture or works on paper to be entered into.> Residents will automatically be entered in the Best City of Wanneroo

Resident Award and the Highly Commended Resident Award.> The City of Wanneroo Open Award is an acquisitive prize

and the winner’s artwork will become part of the City of Wanneroo Art Collection.

> Winning entries will be announced at the opening night, with the exception of the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced on the final day of the exhibition.

DELIVERY AND PICK UP DETAILS> Entrants are to cover all delivery costs. No payment

whatsoever will be made by the City of Wanneroo for freight or other delivery charges incurred in the delivery or return of exhibits.

> All artworks are to be clearly labelled on the back of the artwork indicating artist name, title, medium, dimensions, category and price.

> Entries shall be delivered to the Wanneroo Library and Cultural Centre, 3 Rocca Way, Wanneroo, on Wednesday 7 May 2014 between 11am-6pm. Entries will not be accepted at any other time.

> Artworks not selected for exhibition must be collected from the Gallery on Friday 9 May 11am – 6pm. Identification will be required.

> Unsold entries are to be collected from the Gallery on either Sunday 15 June between 4.15pm - 6pm or Monday 16 June 2014 between 11am - 6pm. Identification will be required. Work not picked up by this time will be acquired or disposed of at the discretion of the City of Wanneroo.

SALES AND GST> All sale prices must include a 20% commission fee.> All entries must be for sale and entrants must indicate ABN

and GST details on the entry form where appropriate.> Artists who do not have an ABN must sign the statement on

the entry form or 48.5% PAYG tax will be deducted from any payment to be made.

GENERAL RULES> All works entered must be less than 12 months old from

closing date, NOT previously exhibited and MUST be original. Work that is directly copied from sources not generated by the artist is not deemed original.

> Entrants must be 16 years of age or older.> All artworks must be a single item. (No diptyph or triptych works)> Entries must be presented to exhibition standard and

must be dry.> All works are to have a suitable hanging assembly. D-rings

and cord are the preferred method. > PLEASE NOTE - Works must not exceed 1.2m x 1.2m

in any direction including frame. > Hanging works must not weigh more than 5kg. > Sculpture works - please call to discuss your requirements.> The City of Wanneroo, whilst taking good care, will not

take responsibility for the damage or loss of artworks. It is the responsibility of the artist to provide insurance for their works.

> Incorrect entries or failure to comply with conditions of entry will result in disqualification.

> Entrants agree that the organisers reserve the right to reproduce entries in print, film or digital format for promotion, education, and documentation purposes in association with the City of Wanneroo.

Failure to meet any one of these conditions will exclude you from exhibiting.
