July 27, 1955 A fire which originated in the attic of the Methodist Home, Topeka, resulted in damage estimated at $150,000. All of the 286 inmates were evacuated without injury. There were 102 patients in the infir- mary and they were removed to the Topeka hospitals. Alan Dale Harrison, 2-year- old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Harrison of Topeka, died of lockjaw. 65 years ago ...July 27, 1955 A fire which originated in the attic of the Methodist Home, Topeka, resulted in damage estimated at $150,000. All of the 286 inmates were evacuated without injury. There were 102 patients in the infir-mary and they were removed to the Topeka hospitals. Alan Dale Harrison, 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Harrison of Topeka, died of lockjaw. He had attended the circus and became ill. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Ladd, July 20, a daughter, weight6lbs.,9ozs.,towhomthey have given the name Kath-leen Marie.
