T he Nyati Group, Pune, recently conducted a tree plantation drive at Nyati County, in collaboration with Balaganaagraha Group, No 23, Delhi Public School, Undri, under the drive ‘Green County Clean Coun- ty’. Addressing the participants, Harish Shroff (director, sales, marketing and business development), highlighted the importance of tree plantation and the need to protect and preserve the environment. “Tree plantation plays an important role in today’s world. As a socially responsible organization, tree plantation is a small part of our duty to- wards preserving the environment,” he said, adding that each and every one should participate in protecting the environment for the future generations. Republic Day at the Nyati Group was even more special as an oath was tak- en by everyone to preserve and protect the environment and all forms of life that inhabit the planet. The DPS staff and students were very enthusiastic throughout the event. The event was attended by the members of all the soci- eties of Nyati County. A single 30-meter-tall mature tree can absorb as much as 22.7 kilograms (50 pounds) of carbon dioxide in a year, which over its lifetime is approximately the same amount as would be produced by an average car being driven 41,500 kilome- ters (25,787 miles). The same tree could also produce 2,721 kilograms (5,998.78 pounds) of oxygen in a year, which is enough to support at least two people. A drive to bring citizens close to nature R ocking atmosphere, thumping music, delicious snacks and a variety of food and bever- age, pumped up the mood of patrons who were present at the grand launch of Apache — High Street in Baner, last week. The grand event con- tinued for three days where some of the famous bands and artistes performed. It was one-of-a-kind music fes- tival that saw tremendous response from the young- sters.
