3 Comments |  [UPDATE] webMAN-MOD 1.43.16

Posted by hekel, on 12/11/2015, @ 12:00pm

WebMAN MOD is a fork of deank’s webMAN , by M@tsumot0 & aldostools. It follows webMAN’s releases but adds several additional features. Among these features are lots of additional translations by default, that use modular LANG_XX.TXT language files so you may modify them or add more yourself. Including but not limited to XMB/In-Game Pad Shortcuts that disable CFW syscalls; gameDATA; toggle Offline Mode; toggle PS2 emu, Cobra, & Rebug/Toolbox Features; and to Unmount games. Compatibility with OsirisX’s PS3XPAD plugin  was added in v1.42.03. Recently version 1.43.07 added an optional VSH Menu which can be installed by holding [R1] when launching the webMAN-MOD updater.Like it’s mother, webMAN MOD also has multiple plugin builds with varying features that you can choose to use. Should you not need support for extra languages you can slightly reduce webMAN MOD’s memory footprint by specifying the path to “webftp_server_english.sprx” in your  /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt file. If you don’t intend to use features like PS3netsrv you may further reduce it’s size by using “webftp_server_lite.sprx” like with deank’s Official webMAN. Alternatively if you want to use PS3MAPI, webchat, noncobra, or REBUG you may use their respective .sprx plugins instead. If you used the installer/updater.pkg, these plugins are located at  /dev_hdd0/game/UPDWEBMOD/USRDIR/ , however if you choose to install webMAN MOD manually, everything you should need will be found within “webMAN-MOD_1.43.xx.zip” at  ./updater/pkgfiles/USRDIR/ . Also contained within the archive is the latest prepNTFS for webMAN-MOD.Changelog:

disabled. Syscall 8 is partially disabled by PS3MAPI. webMAN now only uses syscalls 8/9 for peek/poke lv1/lv2. Peek lv1/lv2 now is available when syscalls are disabled. Poke is only available using Cobra 7.2

Page 4: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

Changing the fan mode from dynamic to manual, there was a delay of 0.5 secs while dynamic fan control was checking the temps. If the mode was changed to manual, after the delay the fan control could change it back to another random value.

The VSH Menu now uses much less CPU. The frame display now uses cached values refreshed at different intervals, instead of get them on each frame (~12 times per second). CFW version is loaded once, temps are updated every 3 secs, devices are updated every 6 secs, ip address and payload type are updated once every time the menu is enabled.

Improved pad response when VSH Menu is on, keeping the same frame rate (~12Hz). Updater Russian & Italian lang files The installed plugins are now compiled without WEB_CHAT flag. Fixed “PS2 fan mode”. Also this mode now is shown in SELECT+START and /cpursx.ps3 /unloadprx.ps3?prx= now allows partial name or plugin id (e.g. /unloadprx.ps3?prx=VSH_MENU)

New features: In addition to the combos to open the browser directly from XMB, the new /browser.ps3 command and the 2 new menu options in VSH Menu. This build adds the combo L2+START to quickly launch the mounted game (disc icon) while being on XMB (no matter which column or option you

have selected) Once a game is mounted via html, if you click on the displayed icon the game will be launched on the PS3. This is nice to start the game once it’s

mounted from your mobile This option uses the new command /play.ps3 Added support for explore plugin commands using /browser.ps3$ Added /play.ps3 to launch XMB Functions (e.g: /play.ps3?col=network&seg=seg_premo) <- this will start Remote Play server from XMB. Added /klic.ps3 to dump game KLicensee Added 2 backgrounds theme in Vsh menu (thanks jriko)

Some examples of the new features are: /klic.ps3 (in-game)

run these while you’re on XMB: /browser.ps3*search:webman /browser.ps3/ /browser.ps3/setup.ps3 /browser.ps3/index.ps3 /browser.ps3?http://ps3.aldostools.org

The new combos are: L2+R2+O -> / L2+R2+L1+O -> /cpursx.ps3 L2+R2+R1+O -> /index.ps3 L2+R2+L1+R1+O -> /setup.ps3

They can be disabled unchecking the combo: SHOW IDPS : R2+O on /setup.ps3

webMAN MOD 1.43.09 (October 13, 2015) Added option to unload VSH Menu. It’s now the first option in Rebug Menu. The toggler for Rebug Mode was too dangerous to be the default option Now display the firmware version using Orion’s code Added support for unload prx by filename (full path). e.g /unloadprx.ps3/dev_hdd0/myplugin.sprx Some tweaks on auto-fix game. Fixed a bug detecting the remote IP address in /setup.ps3 Updated Rebug togglers (in webMAN & VSH Menu) Combo to unload webMAN also unloads VSH Menu

webMAN MOD 1.43.08 (October 11, 2015) Added /combo.ps3 (it lets call additional features. e.g. /combo.ps3?r2+triangle disable syscalls) Added more parameters for control fan in /cpursx.ps3

/cpursx.ps3?fan=0 disables fan control (syscon) /cpursx.ps3?fan=50 sets fan to 50% (manual/constant speed) /cpursx.ps3?max=65 sets dynamic fan to 65ºC /cpursx.ps3?mode=dyn set dynamic fan mode (mode=man sets manual mode)

VSH Menu 0.7 Added option to disable startup message Fixed a bug with left/right on Rebug menu New default background image by jriko

webMAN MOD 1.43.07 (October 10, 2015)There are some minor tweaks and fixes, but the major change is the integration with the VSH Menu.VSH Menu for webMAN now can be installed optionally (Holding R1 when launching the Updater)The source code for the VSH Menu project is included under the folder “vsh_menu”.webMAN MOD now supports http requests through a local file interface (/dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_request)Example: “GET /mount.ps3/dev_hdd0/PS3ISO/MyGame.iso” (sans quotes)Now it should be easier for devs to integrate their homebrews with webMAN MOD.Special thanks to littlebalup, Mysis, 3141card and Orion for the VSH Menu.

webMAN MOD 1.43.06 (October 6, 2015) Fix cache issue on PS3 browser with certain http commands (e.g. restart.ps3). Thanks to Dino05.

Page 5: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

Added delete mode to File Manager (requires JavaScript enabled) Added option to save plugins currently loaded to /boot_plugins.txt and other boot files. Installer now auto-enable stage2.bin if Cobra was disabled. Updated simplified chinese.

webMAN MOD 1.43.05 (Sept 30, 2015) Added http commands: /mkdir.ps3 and /rmdir.ps3 (without parameters they create hdd folders for ISOs) /dev_bdvd/PS3_UPDATE now is redirected when the plugin is loaded (and when a game is mounted) [This is intended to prevent an accidental

update if a game disc is inserted in the drive] XML: Improved sorting of titles that include numbers (e.g. Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3) Fixed bug fixing game folders with many subfolders (+6 levels) Fixed filter games by title (/games.ps3?title and /index.ps3?title) File manager now shows total size of devices in bytes & MB Moved code from main.c to 2 new include modules: combos.h and fancontrol2.h (poll_thread) Added menu selection using keyboard on slider mode (mobile.html) Added syscall 38 to remove_cfw_syscalls() in stealth.h lv2 peek/poke now are the last removals in remove_cfw_syscalls() Fixed icons copy cachefiles.png & filemanager.png for XBMB+ (updater pkg) Updated Italian, French and Slovak lang files Update urls in web panel

webMAN MOD 1.43.04 (Sept 16, 2015) Code refactoring main.c has been split into 32 separate modules, grouped by category Added the shutdown.ps3 option to webMAN.xml & webMAN_ES.xml Combo L3+R1+O to restart using VSH method and added L3+R1+X to shutdown using VSH method Updated Russian lang file again Updated German lang file Updated webMAN_XX.xml files New icons has better definitions + some new

/shutdown.ps3 uses the syscall power off (like before)./shutdown.ps3?vsh now uses the VSH method (performs a standby). Any parameter can be used (e.g. /shutdown.ps3?standby)/restart.ps3 now uses VSH restart (instead of lpar restart)./reboot.ps3?vsh does the same as restart.ps3/reboot.ps3?quick performs lpar restart/reboot.ps3?soft performs soft restart via syscall/reboot.ps3 performs hard reboot via syscallNotice: There is an important difference between VSH shutdown and syscall power off.The syscall turns off the console completely. The VSH leaves the console in standby if Settings > Remote Play Settings > Remote Start is turned On.If the option is Off, the console turns off completly.

webMAN MOD 1.43.03 (Sept 10, 2015) Added support for _hold / _release parameters in /pad.ps3 (for faster/better response in virtual pad) webPAD GUI for PC support this in “Game Mode” http://st.aldostools.org was updated to also support “Game Mode” using keyboard A new theme GUI: http://st.aldostools.org/pad.html Updated the libraries in “vsh” and “lib” folders (Mysis & 3141card) Fixed a couple of compilation warnings /popup.ps3 (without parameters) now shows the system info popup (select+start) Updated wm icons for XMBM+ Updated Russian lang files.

webMAN MOD 1.43.02 (Sept 03, 2015) Support 4.76 DEX Added virtual pad support – webpad @ http://st.aldostools.org (all builds)

webMAN MOD 1.43.01 (Sept 03, 2015) Support 4.76 CEX (thanks Sony, for this biggest fw update…) Control fan system is better than before (more explanation below by aldotools) The game list is now sort by CD# (e.g FF PS1) Local IP with adapter is now displayed (config and popup) Offsets improvement for fix game compatibility Updated Italian & Russian lang files

Let me try to explain how it works:

Page 6: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

webMAN’s fan control tries to keep cool CPU and RSX. If one of them reach the target/max temperature (e.g. 66 C), the fan speed will be increased gradually (+2) until the temperature start to decrease. If the temperature is 1 degree or more higher than the target/max temperature, then the fan speed is increased even more faster. When the temperature start to decrease, the fan speed is decreased gradually (-1). This is done that way, because we want to keep the temperature

as cool as possible and avoid the “yo-yo” effect.deank added additional heuristics to manage some special conditions, but in simple terms this is the algorithm. So i decrease the fan speed faster under the following conditions: If the temperature is 3 degrees below the target/max temperature, it decreases the fan speed -1. if the fan speed is higher than 66%, it decreases -2 If the temperature is 5 degrees below the target/max temperature, it decreases the fan speed -1. if the fan speed is higher than 50%, it decreases -2

Changelog:v.17 2015-11-07+Added support for iso files with only game name*Fixed incorrect game size order*Changed system to cache hdl games*Fixed failing to create VMC*Updated Translations

Found a bit of time to push this small update.Users with ISO’s without the game ID should be happy with this one, since it supports the new file name format. Also it caches all the games in a xml file, so the game list load is faster if you have a LOT of games! Also fixed the bug with VMC creation, strange only one person noticed the problem!

Over and OUT!

0 Comments |  [Release] PS3 Cover Tool v1.0

Posted by Kingsman, on 10/11/2015, @ 12:41pm

Program: PS3 Cover Tool v1.0Version: 1.0

Release Date: 10/25/2015Developer & Source: ’Rudi Rastelli’ of psx -place

Page 8: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

Download: Click HereQuoted post via release thread   by ‘Rudi Rastelli’:

Hi !

I’ve re-worked my old cover tool and it’s totaly different and at least it’s now what i want it to be.I slightly renamed it to PS3 COVER TOOL. Take it as a restart and i want to start with v1.0 for it’s 1st version.

Ok… here we go:

*****************************************************************

* PS3 COVER TOOL V1.0 *

* by Rudi Rastelli *

*****************************************************************

* Credits: *

* No0bZiLLa, aldostools *

*****************************************************************

Features:

*********

- Searches an existing cover collection for covers which suits exactly to your game collection

- If covers are missing program tries to find them online and add them to the cover collection

- You can select a prefered region for the online search

- Covers which suit to your game collection can be optionally be resized to the resolution needed for multiMAN/webMAN

- Covers which suit to your game collection can be transfer to PS3 (via FTP)

- Covers which suit to your game collection can be packed as a PKG and optionally transfered to PS3 (via FTP)

Getting started:

****************

1a)Copy your cover collection (if u have one) to 'CoverArchive'-folder (in 'PS3 COVER TOOL' folder)

or

1b)Select your cover collection folder at 'CoverArchive'

2) Select your 'PS3ISO'-folder or your 'GAMES'-folder at 'Game Collection'

3) Select your prefered region(language) at 'Prefered Region'

Notes:

******

- If your 'Game Collection' is on PS3 i recommend using a little program called "NetDrive". It allows to map PS3 as a real netdrive.

Page 9: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

'NetDrive' is a 30 days trial, but allows to use 1 connection if expired. And that's all you might need.

You need some tips for configuration ? See below !

- If program finds a cover in 'Cover Archive' that matches the GameID nothing will be downloaded no matter which settings you've made.

This means: You 1st have to delete a cover from 'Cover Archive' whenever you want another version.

- On 1st hand any covers in any resolution have to be in 'CoverArchive'

- Covers which suit to your game collection will be optionally resized and copied to 'MyGameCollectionCovers'-folder (in 'PS3 COVER TOOL' folder)

- When downloading high quality covers with the selected region will prefered

- Whenever a cover with the selected region isn't available then the english cover will be prefered

- In 'CoverArchive' this name scheme is used for downloaded covers: '[GameID]_[Region]_[Quality].jpg'

- Created PKG-file is named 'MyGameCollectionCovers.pkg'

- last but not least a request:

If you own covers in your prefered language not being in the online database please upload them to 'www.gametdb.com' and help growing the database.

To help you with that task you will find a note in log file for each cover that has downloaded but does not have your prefered region.

Tips:

*****

- 'NetDrive' :

1. Click 'Add Drive'

2. Typ = FTP

3. Name = MyPS3 (or whatever you like)

4. URL = ftp://[IP of your PS3] 5. User = anonymous 6. Password = ps3 7. Check 'Save Passwort' 8. Click 'Save' 9. Click 'Connect' next to the name you've choosen(see 3.)

- Distored resized covers: While testing i had some rare covers which looks somehow distored. To fix this go into 'Cover Archive' open these covers in eg in 'Paint' and then save them.

Page 10: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

No re-run PS3 COVER TOOL and the resized covers should be ok now.

COBRA 7.2 SourceAs of October the 29th.

Following has been changed and updated since 4.46 COBRA 7

[ Joonie's Changes ]

Cobra spoofer has been removed again [the same as COBRA 4.30], since this is no longer supporting PSN accesibility since 4.60 OFW update. PLS3 patches are removed from modulespatch.c since this is one of those pre-applied patches on 4.xx CFW unknown E3 patches are removed to fix an issue with XMB, [Originally found by rancid-0, from his PS3ITA 4.50 COBRA] Dual VSH supports for REBUG REX / D-REX CFW, proper hash check code was developed by habib and Nzv recently. NPDRM Fself fix for REBUG REX/D-REX, this removed Kakaroto’s sig check patch pre-applied in REBUG’s debug VSH.

[ Habib's changes ]

Stage0 Base payload, this clears stage1 when stage2 is not loaded on LV2, which completely disabled COBRA mode Syscall 11 is added to support full lv1 peek Ps2netemu work around is discovered, now PS2 ISO can be redirected as ps2classic, this was developed to fix ps2 wireless pad sync issue for non

backward compatible PS3 models.

Page 12: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

New savedata patch workaround for ps2_netemu has been added, PS2 DISC ICON will use decrypted VM card, but it still has sync issue and PS2 Launcher will use encrypted VM card for both ISO/Classics, no sync issue at all

Allow Syscall 11 to gain full access to syscall 6/7/9/10 to prevent modification from homebrews like multiMAN.[ KW's changes ]

webMAN integration on boot. Also disables external webMAN plugin located in dev_hdd0 PSN Patch stealth mode, it remove custom syscall from the ps3

[ Dean's changes ]

Improved map_path, to fix the issue with games like Shadow of Mordor Permission protection is disabled to increase game compatiblity and full DEX support.[no more issue with Target Manager or CCAPI] 80010017 / 8001002B Error fix is added since 4.60, this was developed to prevent issues with games when game disc is inserted in BD Drive. LIC.DAT check is patched to fix the issue with launching homebrew since 4.60

[ Nzv's changes]

PS3MAPI 1.2.2 support, it is similar feature comparing to CCAPI, but open sourced project and also can unload vsh plugins , attatch process on all type of EBOOT. One of those great debugging features.

Partial disable syscall8 and unhooks all cobra hooks (Part of PS3MAPI) Block update from disc

[ Aldo's changes ]

Improved PSX media type support, now it supports following disc types 2048 // 2352 // 2336 // 2448 *

Improved Video mode patch with proper region detection Original COBRA payload was relying on ps1emu’s detection method, now COBRA has extra pre-processing that can detect region properly and force apply correct refresh rate depending on the game’s region. (Improved PS3MAPI functions)

Added PEEK/POKE (LV1/LV2) as PS3MAPI opcodes (syscall8) Added option to block access and request access to syscall8 using a key (also as PS3MAPI opcodes) Added temporary disablement of Cobra syscall8 to allow dumpers peek 0×1000 to 0×9800

*STILL IN W.I,P, please let me know if anyone is interested in making changes in this note

0 Comments |  [Release/Update] Generic Signature Making App + E-Boot Tools & Developer Tools+ Alternate Version of Unencrypt.exe by Unk

Posted by Kingsman, on 27/10/2015, @ 06:41pm

Here’s a generic signature making app.

Signature.exe 1.0Command:signature.exe file hash-type key.bin p.bin a.bin b.bin N.bin Gx.bin Gy.bin padding.bin

Page 14: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

hash-type: sha1,…private keycurve parametersfile mod 0×10 should be 0, specify padding to use

This will print out the sha1 and the signature, manually paste [padding] signature and sha1 to end of fileyou supply files: private key 21 bytes, curve parameters p, a, b, Gx, Gy 20 bytes, N 21 bytes and padding file 16 bytesto make a signature like game selfs use the same curve parameters and padding as ps3tools, oscetool, etc.

Download: signature_max.zip

Purpose of eboot tool:“encrypt.exe is intended to create an eboot/ppc self that has the same format as an official eboot. The input eboot must be compiled as original elf or extracted from an official game eboot with unencrypt.exe. When used with official game eboots the elf portion of the re-made eboot should turn out exactly the same as the original (except for your modifications).unencrypt also extracts the keys used to encrypt the meta data and the section keys from the original self. if present, they will be used by encrypt.exe instead of random keys.the area between elf sections is filled with padding in game selfs. encrypt will place this padding into the self or will use zeroes if not available. For npdrm self of course the special npdrm only signature at the end of the eboot will not be present. You could simply take the last 30 bytes plus any padding from the original eboot or use random numbers. It really doesn’t matter without the real key.sdk.exe is for editing the sdk version in the elf.”Update

fixed extra 16 bytes added to compressed section offset if alignment was already correct. alignment of compressed sections must be fixed when creating compressed selfs. added check for section alignment already correct so it doesn’t get “corrected” twice. thanks to the member who spotted this problem.

combined_max_beta.zip = updated archive of e-boot tools + developer tools Download: combined_max_beta.zip

Here is an alternate version of unencrypt.exe. It also creates a batch file that can be used with encrypt to make the new eboot.3 versions:

1 creates batch file using firmware version, key revision, and other attributes from original self 2 creates batch file using firmware version 355 and key revision 0A 3 creates batch file using firmware version 341 and key revision 04

it’s a convenience feature; simpler than typing in long command line with lots of numbers.

For npdrm eboots, the real file name that is placed in the batch file:

if the input self for unencrypt.exe is named with the extension “.BIN”, it will use EBOOT.BIN for the real file name. With other extensions, it will use the input file name as the real file name. The real file name must match the name of the self as installed on the ps3. This is checked by the ps3.

EBOOT.BIN -> EBOOT.BINGAME1.BIN -> EBOOT.BINGAME2. BIN -> EBOOT.BINGAME1.SELF -> GAME1.SELFDownload: unencrypt_also_create_batch_file.zip

Change Log:

Page 15: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

tools to make self with exact same format as game eboot, replaces only ??? in diagramppc exe, not sprx, not stand alone spu selfyou supply keys etc.

updatefixed over optimized code. only seen original eboots with section 1 and 2 compressed, section 2,3,4 not compressed because size is zero. someone showed me 1 eboot and 2 ppc selfs with non zero section 2 & 3. they were not compressed but could be. added checks for these sections. also the fill between these sections would not have been applied in any case; fixed.

removed unecnrypt (used self fill), instead uses only unecnryptz (zero fill). self padding can be added if desired by using padding.exe on the converted self.

update 2combined all the exe’s into one archive.

Purpose/About/Tips:to mod game ebootstool to make elf from game eboot

unencrypt.exe keeps original fillunencryptz.exe puts null bytes between sections, like freshly compiled elf but game selfs have fill there

to remake self use tools attached to post 1, plus tool in diagramused only with original selfsnot compatible with other self tools

self must be ppc exe, like game ebootyou supply keys etc.

see update in post 1

_____________________________________________________________________________the convertor tool in post one only requires the user to specify key revision and firmware version and, for npdrm, content id.the other self attributes are the defaults for game ebootsThis was to make the command line as short as possible.tools to edit the control flags, capability flags, sdk version, and, for npdrm self, application type, exe or update.

for sdk version use on the elf. others, use on the converted self before finalizing.

or I can make a version with different defaults or accepts more user input values.

updatecombined the editors in one archive with the update in post one above______________________________________________________________________________update to convert.exefixed a bug in some compressed eboots the area immediately preceding the elf section headers a few bytes over written due to padding. AFAICT, this area is not used in the self.also includes editor for application version and authentication id. I was informed that these are not always the same. These types of attributes in the header of the converted file could also be edited directly in a hex editor.

about the npdrm signature. I have been advised not to post this, but I have an idea of how to release a tool that will accomplish the same. As I said before, it is very simple coding, anyone can make it. I’m sure it would be released if the key was available. I apologize for the delay.

Reboot from XMB without loading plugin

Download: File-Upload.net – reboot_xmb.zipQuote from user ‘haxxxen’ via psxplace:

i have been using this in past already, when cobra and its testplugin was released (made post on ps3hax.net), before i have run cobra cfw myself. with cobra functions and webman there was no need and i discarded the usage of it.

now i was doing some mods lately and i have thought about its usage again, cause using the reboot pkg from xmb takes too long for my impatience, lol.

i have added a new entry in user category and the reboot function can be used from there (german strings)

it makes usage of official xmb function in main xml and it is disguised as “xai_plugin.sprx” signed 3.30, which is an official plugin by sony for these widgets functions and was removed from flash since 3.40 ofw. though, the plugin name itself still remains in xmb_plugin.sprx and can be called from xml.

it only has the reboot syscall included and it is a non residential plugin, which unloads itself. the way i have made it, it does not work work with prxloader or cobra loading from plugins.txt, and besides, it is not needed and would cause problems on autoload and you can directly start the plugin from xmb without. it is built like official plugins and you can find templats in sdk prx samples for it, so no source needed.

Page 16: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

i have made a hard reboot version and a soft reboot version, which one would prefer and you have to copy the plugin itself to “dev_blind/vsh/module” and those xml to “dev_blind/vsh/resouce/explore/xmb”. better to make backup of original, even though not really needed. i only have added new entry for the plugin under user category and it can be used from there. i had to make an extra folder and disabled it from ingame, cause the item icon cannot be viewed ingame and it would only show this spinning icon.

File-Upload.net – reboot_xmb.zipeditthis will not work for other things and is only good for immediate reboot.

1 Comments |  [RELEASE] UNOFFICIAL RetroArch v1.2.2

Posted by hekel, on 20/10/2015, @ 11:10am

If you’ve been paying attention to RetroArch over the last few months, the 4th of July announcement probably left you dying to know when v1.2 would be ready for PlayStation devices. The entire team and everyone involved in RetroArch development have been working diligently to try and get this release ready across all platforms as swiftly as they can with as few bugs as possible. In a recent update on July 15th Squarepusher acknowledged the 1.2 announcement jumped the gun a little bit but allowed for a wider public testing on some platforms such as PC and Android that received the builds first.

Page 18: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

Since the original announcement, new builds have been released for many additional platforms. On July 19th, 1.2.2 was officially released for PSP andSquarepusher gave an open invitation to capable PSP developers interested in assisting with future development, ports, & builds.(Downloads and contact information are at the end of this article.)Given all the new releases and builds, the one big platform we still haven’t seen a RetroArch 1.2 release for is the PlayStation 3. With good reason; It’s just not ready yet. Opensource software is something I’ve touched on in the past, and I understand that many folks have trouble grasping the concept. The reality is that the Libretro team is a relatively small group of hobbyist hackers. The majority of the code is written by a handful of people. Anyone may contribute, but few actually do. These people have real jobs and real lives, just like the rest of us; They work on RetroArch when they can and they use their own money to purchase most of the hardware they develop for.

On that note the team has recently decided to accept donations to cover server and hardware costs. If you enjoy RetroArch and you would like to donate, you should be able to by next week. I recognize that in our community we have a lot of hobbyist PS3 hackers and a small portion of them may be capable of actually contributing something useful to the development of RetroArch. If you legitimately can contribute your own knowledge, time, and resources I encourage you to go take a peek at the code on Github and stop bytheir forums or IRC channel, because the extra help is likely to be more valuable to the project than monetary donations. With all of that out of the way, the reason most of you are reading this is because of the title. A few days ago an individual going by Ezio_PS decided to build the latest code from git and release unofficial “beta” PS3 builds on the RetroArch Forums. I considered making a git build a while ago, but decided against it in favor of a potential Official Release that still hasn’t happened yet. In fact when I heard about this unofficial build on Sunday, I was conflicted about posting this article that I’ve had sitting around for a few months but after some discussion I was persuaded to publish it.I just want to reiterate that this isn’t an official release and it’s buggy, but I do recognize that some folks may want to give it a spin. Among some of the issues one obvious thing that’s missing is the XMB GUI even though the GLUI is functional.

Ezio_PS’s Build announcement on the Libretro Forums: (Oct 18)Here is a compiled version of retroarch 1.2.2, consider it like a beta release so any bugs can happen.Beta 1.3 https://www.sendspace.com/file/g5gsizCompatible with any cfw and signed with 3.4x keysCores: removed temporarily mednafen neopop since it’s not working tyrquake core could freeze all other cores should work fine

Bugs: Restart doesn’t work Quit RA does what Restart RA should do, if you Quit RA a second time it finally comes back xmb

Settings: Set 400 dpi override on menu->settings via retroarch config, now it should display correctly the menu on every display resolution

Next Beta Release: Normal and Stealth version.

New cores: probably virtualjaguar and msx cores, i hope they’ll work  maybe mednafen pce fast too, though it should be slow but it already was on the previous stable release of RA (1.0.0.2)

If someone is interested to help with fixing the bugs like restart/quit, he’s welcome.Any feedbacks, suggests and constructive criticisms are well accepted too.

Credits:All libretro developers team for their incredible, hard and very long work they did and are going to do still today for this wonderful and unique multi-emulator homebrew.

Ezio_PS’s update on the Libretro Forums: (Oct 19)Those new cores aren’t working so i’m going to remove them, i’ll add new cores only if i get them full working in next beta releases. About RetroXMB it’s working fine for me, so just be sure your core setting is pointing to SNES10000/USRDIR/cores (first choice on RetroXMB app).XMB gui seems to be not yet included in the code for the ps3 version, so i guess we need to wait for it.Meanwhile here it’s a new beta release.Beta 1.4 https://www.sendspace.com/file/rn9saeChangelog: Removed all the cores not working Added Mednafen PCE Fast (PC Engine) since it’s fully working

Until recently, it had been over a year since we last saw a RetroArch release, but in that time it’s undergone many changes that made it worth the wait. On the surface RetroArch has gotten a bit of a face-lift with some newly available GUIs (GLUI and XMB). If you’ve used RetroArch in the past you’re no doubt familiar with the old RGUI which is also still available if you desire to use it. It’s worth noting that the new GUIs are not available on the PSP, due to meager OpenGL support. RetroArch 1.2 also adds dynamic wallpapers, boxart, and downloading of the latest available cores via the online updater.Original 1.2 Release Announcement:Posted on the Libretro Blog by Squarepusher on Jul 4, 2015:First things first – we are back. It has taken us a very long time to make a new release of RetroArch due to numerous complications, so apologies for missing numerous release dates before (first Christmas, then somewhere in April, etc.). It tells something about the development hell we’ve been through that I’ve just skipped an entire version number (1.1) and gone straight to 1.2.Let me first get some important stuff out of the way before we continue. For our iOS and Blackberry 10 users: we were not ready today (July 4) to launch on these platforms, you’ll unfortunately have to hold out for one more week before we have something for you. Rest assured that there will be plenty to enjoy a week from now. With that out of the way…What is RetroArch being released on today and tomorrow? Android (DONE) (Uploading to Play Store right now) Windows (DONE) Linux (DONE) (Repo packagers, go ahead and update the respective packages) Mac (Maybe July 5 2015)

Page 19: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

Consoles (Wii / PS3 / PSP ) (July 5 2015) Consoles (Xbox 1 OG) (Maybe July 5 2015) iOS (Next week) Blackberry 10 (Next week)

Other platforms will have to wait, but rest assured the wait is not much longer. *I could write an entire book about all of the new features in RetroArch, but instead I’m just going to summarize it up in a few bullet points so that you can get the gist of it. In the upcoming weeks you will see plenty of more big announcements coming from us, and we will also provide you with much-needed user documentation on everything you can do with RetroArch now.– Brand new eye candy menus to choose from! –

RetroArch now lets you select between three menu display modes: RGUI (a very classic, low-resolution menu), GLUI (a more advanced GL-based menu that lends itself well to touch-based devices), and XMB (a horizontal crossbar menu that is the most eyecandy-rich of all three right now). Thanks to improved touch support, you should now be easily able to control RetroArch’s menu by dragging up or down and clicking on items. And thanks to built-in DPI awareness support, menu elements should now be scaled according to the DPI (Dots Per Inch) reported by your system.** NOTE: The XMB menu driver’s touch support right now is kinda iffy. We recommend that you use GLUI on touchscreen-based devices, like mobile (Android/iOS/etc).– Scan files/directories and add them to game system collections! –

You can now scan files and/or directories, and RetroArch will look for a match inside its database. If it finds a match with a known game on a given system, it will then add this game to a collection based on the system of that game. This way, you can have ordered collections of games without having to browse your filesystem all the time looking for a ROM/game to play.To use this feature, go to ‘Add Content’ and select either ‘Scan Directory’ or ‘Scan File’. ** NOTE: Some programs right now might not yet have a database system in place to allow you to scan said content. Some of the current ones that still need to be addressed are MAME and CD-based systems such as the PlayStation. You will see this rectified in an upcoming RetroArch update.– View database information about each game once added to a collection! –

Once you have a few collections, you will be able to view detailed information about the game, provided by RetroArch’s new database features. You will be able to view the developer of the game, the year it was released at, any kind of special hardware it used on the ROM cart package, the publisher that released the game, etc. ** NOTE: The amount of information provided per game can vary and is dependent on the database’s completion. We encourage contributors to help us out building up these databases.– Download programs (‘cores’) online –RetroArch no longer comes with programs preinstalled, instead you download these now from our buildbot from within the program. Go to Online Updater -> Core Updater and select any of the cores you’d like to have installed. It will then download that core from our buildbot. This way, you are in control of exactly which programs you have installed and RetroArch does not take up any additional space for things you don’t need.*We add new cores onto our buildbot routinely, so as soon as they will be uploaded you will be able to download them and use them with your current copy of RetroArch without even having to update the main program. Stay posted for more exciting new stuff coming up ahead.* NOTE: We make no guarantees about server availability or uptime.– Update everything! –

Page 20: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

It isn’t just program cores that you can install this way from our buildbot. You can also update all of the asset files that RetroArch depends on. You will always be able to download the latest shaders, onscreen gamepad overlays, cheat files and whatnot directly from our servers from within the app.All of this content is updated on a daily basis, so you can be sure there will be plenty of new things to check out on a weekly basis.– Download Game & Watch games and play them with our exclusive Game & Watch emulator ! –

People in their early to mid-30s might have seen these things in the wild back n their day and will probably be familiar with these old standalone handheld games that predated the Game Boy, but don’t let their age fool you: these games still are very useful time killers and their age if anything gives them even more charm appeal.Go to ‘Add Content -> Download Content’ to download any of these Game & Watch games. From there, you can play them with our Game & Watch emulator which has been built from scratch by a valued libretro contributor. Some of the standout features include faithful reproduction of the handheld’s screen layout, high-resolution bezels, nice simulation of the sound effects, etc. Give these a try.** NOTE: We owe a certain amount of thanks to Madrigal’s simulators for being able to offer these games to you.– Built-in input mapping –It is now possible to bind your gamepad from within the program without having to go through the chores of previous versions. Go to Settings -> Input Settings and select ‘Bind All’ to bind each and every button one at a time, or bind the actions individually. If you are using a gamepad which is supported by us, it will be autodetected and autoconfigured to align with our gamepad abstraction, the RetroPad.– Ability to remap controls –An often-heard complaint before was the inability to change the controls. We have made this possible now. Once a game is loaded, go to the ‘Quick Menu’ and select ‘Core Input Remapping Options’. From there you can change the controls per core, and you can also save these changes to a config file.– Ability to enter and load cheats –It is now possible to input cheats and apply them to the currently running game. This was also an often-heard complaint and omission pointed out by users, so we have provided this as well this time around. ** NOTE: Some programs might not yet have cheat support integrated. As soon as we include cheat support for these cores, you will be able to download the updated core from within the app (see ‘Download program cores online’).– Multi-language support! –

This release comes with (preliminary) multi-language support. Go to Settings -> User Settings and choose a language. Right now we provide translations for Dutch, German, Portuguese, and French.** NOTE: Some of the language translations might be more incomplete than others. Others (like Japanese/Chinese/Russian) are not available right now, and we seek translators for those as well.– Over 80+ programs now and counting –RetroArch and the libretro ecosystem has expanded in scope dramatically since the last release over a year ago. There are now over 80+ programs to choose from among its collection, and you can be sure that number is bound to increase from here on out. ** NOTE: The amount of program cores available might vary based on the system you are using.– Built-in image viewer (and media player) ! –

Page 21: Ps3 Opisi Programa Koi Se Koriste

We have thrown in an image viewer inside RetroArch now. It is possible to display JPEG, PNG, TGA and BMP images.*As if that is not enough, for the Windows release we now have an integrated media player. It is possible to play music and movie files now from within RetroArch. This might seem like an unorthodox way to use RetroArch, but it has certain tricks up its sleeve that other media players do not, such as frame interpolation and a wide array of shaders and audio filters to choose from. ** **** NOTE: Expect this feature to be improved in the coming weeks, there are still some power management issues to sort out with high-resolution images.** NOTE: Expect this feature to be heavily improved later on. We will want to start supporting remote controls and also to provide a fancy overlay for video playback purposes. Also, expect a very nice audio visualizer soon for the playback of music files.*** NOTE: The integrated media player support is available for any version of RetroArch that comes with built-in ffmpeg support. RetroArch is dependent on ffmpeg for making it possible to playback these files.– Tons more besides to discover and enjoy –

This quick writeup does not even scratch the surface of everything that has been added to RetroArch over the span of a year. We worked hard on making this release happen and as such did not have the time to write about every single new feature in detail before dropping this release. Over the next few weeks we will have a more increased Youtube channel presence where we will drop videos which will show you all you can do with RetroArch right now. Please look forward to these videos. Also, don’t hesitate to contact us with your ideas on what could make RetroArch better and how to improve it. We definitely want you to provide us with a lot of feedback on this release so that we can improve the next release in response to user feedback. From now on, you can expect continuous updates. It took us a long time to set the entire infrastructure up to make all this possible and we also had to rewrite RetroArch entirely at least 5 to 6 times over the past year, but rest assured that this huge media dropout was a one-off event. If things are not perfect today (and nothing will ever be perfect), be rest assured that from here on out, updates will be quick to arrive. We are not going to have a repeat of this endless delay schedule that has plagued us since last year, and above all we now want continuous user feedback so that we can improve things as we go along. Most importantly, me and others have practically worked themselves to death on this release for over a year and we really want to push this release out now so that people have something in their hands and we can go from there.Oh yeah, there will be another big blog post after this that will detail some other new projects we’re working on shortly, but for now I have to focus on actually pushing this release out. So let’s see if we can get that done today and we’ll drop all the other major announcements shortly after. Some other notes (Xbox 360 missing, etc)

* The only exception to this release promise is the Xbox 360 port. I have been routinely screwed and scammed by the ‘underground’ console hacking scene and right now I’m sitting on this paperweight RGH Xbox 360 that is useless for development, so that port is on indefinite hold until somebody can get me either the XDK back that I gave somebody in good confidence that it would go to Ced2901 (but it never did apparently), and I presume the guy I gave it to just hoarded it. or we can get a replacement for it. I won’t mention names but the guy who took my XDK and never gave it to the person he said he was going to give it to knows who he is. Anyway, if you guys still consider this Xbox 360 version important, let me know but I’m not going to go and take money out of my own coffers again to make that happen. I’m done with the console scene shenanigans. Some other notes (3DS / PSP version)

We could maybe push out a PSP version of RetroArch 1.2 in the upcoming weeks. I’m hoping to get back with the main contributor (aliaspider) who worked on these ports so that we can be assured that we can at least push out the PSP version in a more or less stable and decent state.Regarding RetroArch 3DS: it’s still very much a work-in-progress and I don’t think either me or aliaspider would feel comfortable to ship anything right now in terms of official release at this stage, and we need a lot of work done on the cores before we can render some of them playable on the slow 3DS (it’s even slower than the PSP it seems).
