BACKGROUND
Chrysanthemum flowers have a good market demand all the time along the year
Chrysanthemum supply in DIY province so far comes from West and Central Java
Chrysanthemum agribusiness is very promising, that a development of integrated farming for the commodity is needed

competitors) in the DIY, Central Java and
East Java provinces
2. Can be used as an information database on
the supply and demand of chrysanthemum
seedlings and flowers in the DIY, Central
Java and East Java to help create Sleman as
a seed center for the commodity.

CONCLUSSION:
1. Farmers in Sleman, DIY, plant 14 varieties of chrysanthemums, those in Ambarawa, Central Java, plant 27 varieties and in Malang, East Java, 21 varieties.
2. Chrysanthemums mostly planted by farmers are white, yellow, red, purple and pink ones.
3. Most seedlings have come from PT Saung Mirwan Cipanas, PT Kleanta Subang, both in West Java, and self-seedling production.
4. Seedling productions in DIY, Central Java and East Java are seen not so good in term of quality

CONCLUSSION:
5. Competitiors in seedling production are big-scaled private company such as PT Saung Mirwan in Cipanas and PT Kleanta in Subang, West Java.
6. Some 60 percent of seedlings planted by farmers in DIY are purchased from outside the province.
7. Seedlings are mostly done using the tissue culture and traditional/slip methods.
8. Markets for the chrysanthemum products of the three regions include DIY, Central Java, East Java and Bali.

CONCLUSSION:
9. The prices of chrysanthemums quite vary from very expensive to very cheap
10. Potential target markets include private sectors, governmental offices and individuals for various events including mourning, wedding and religious rituals

Suggestions 1 (Short Term)
a) Development of chrysanthemum seedling production is very urgent to conduct in line with the high demand for the product among farmers.
b) There is a need for quality but affordable seedlings, requiring cooperation between the private sectors and universities to fulfill so. The UPN “Veteran” University, with its tissue culture laboratory, is capable of producing quality chrysanthemum seedlings using the micro-slip and callus cloning technologies.

Suggestion-continued (Short term)
c) Improvement of human resource skills in the cultivation of chrysanthemums can be done through among others: cultivation trainings starting from the plastic house making to the post-harvest handling and trainings on tissue culture method to help increase the production of seedling supply.
d) Seedling production to fulfill the demand for the commodity in DIY, Central Java and East Java is urgent to help support Sleman Regency as a seed center for chrysanthemums.

Suggestions-continued (Middle Term)
The development of chrysanthemum industry in Sleman Regency can be continued by the issuance of program policies according to the medium term need for the commodity.
Identification of the infrastructure need to help realize Hargobinangun sub-district as a chrysanthemum production center.
