Project Approach

My project is about airplane. First I need to do observation on children then

find their interests. I saw two children were interests in airplane. One child was building

an airplane with block and the other on is showing me a picture about airplane. So I

decide to choose airplane as my project topic. I will use airplane this topic to pick six

experiences relate to areas of Art, Science, Dramatic play, Math and Literacy, Music.

Children will participate and ask me any possible questions about airplane.

I needed to pose rationale statement for parents to help them understand reason

for me chose airplane for my topic. For the KWHL chart I’m going to fill out the L part

then complete after we finished our experiences. The art experience I did with children

was building wooden airplane and folding paper airplane. I used paper showed

them to do a airplane flying contest for my science experience. I read them different

kinds of airplane through book. I show them to play music chair, they were enjoy it. As

dramatic play experience, children help me set up chair in the row. They sat there to be

passenger, pilot and flight attend. I also did a power point with them, children love it.

After we finished all six experiences, we celebrate ended of the project. I put out six

documentation of my project on the carpet then asked children questions what they

learned. I tried to recall their memory by showing them each activity they did. Overall it

was a fun and meaningful project for us to participate.

Global Citizenship and Equity (GC&E) Outcomes

My project met the key outcomes to examine my beliefs, values and behaviours that form

individual and community identities and the basis for respectful relationship on children.

My beliefs are children learn by doing that why as an Early Childhood Educator I need to

provide them hands on learning. I have to bring in lots resource in for children get to

know more about my project. It is much more important to use real object or show them

how it look like. Children will have better understanding if they see real object.
