1. OVERVIEW

Context

This workbook includes the standard SAP reports available in the Warehouse Management (MM-WM) module. At this stage, it is anticipated that the standard reports will meet BUSINESS’s requirements. Note that, these reports will only be available to PLANT sites implementing the WM functionality.

Background

The SAP WM module provides standard reports for use. Most of these are accessed via the WM application menu paths, under “…> Evaluations > ….” .

What is covered

The following reporting features in SAP WM module is included:1.Standard evaluation reports provided within the WM

application2.Warehouse Info System (sub-set of LIS)3.Stock Comparison between WM and IM

What is not covered

Reports in Warehouse Management which functionality is not being used by BUSINESS, for example:

3.2 Materials Reporting

About Materials Reporting

Items are identified in the system using a material master record. A material number is assigned and this will be used consistently throughout the system to represent the item. The existence of a quantity of a material of a particular batch in a particular storage bin in the warehouse is known as a quant.

The following standard materials reports are available in SAP:

3.3 Hazardous Material Reporting

About Hazardous Material Reporting

In the SAP system, a separate hazardous material master record can be created in the WM system to represent hazardous material types that are deemed hazardous.

The hazardous material master is then linked to the material master record by specifying the hazardous material number on the Storage or Warehouse View.

When a material master record is linked to a hazardous material record and the hazardous material storage checks have been activated, characteristics defined in the hazardous material record are then taken into consideration for storage type and storage section search. Several material masters can be linked to the same hazardous material (with same properties and characteristics).

The hazardous material functionality is used purely to facilitate the storage type and storage section search. Note: Dangerous goods may not be the same as a hazardous material. The hazardous material master does not sufficiently cater for dangerous goods (DG) information. Therefore, DG information will be tracked using the Classification functionality for material.

Where the hazardous material master is set up in WM, the following standard reports are available:

1.Fire Department Inventory List2.Analysis: Correct Storage of Hazardous Materials3.Warehouse Index according to Accident Regulations

when a material cannot be stored in a desired storage type based on the storage class

3.4 WM Documents Reporting

About WM Documents Reporting

The following documents are relevant in the WM system in SAP:

transfer requirements transfer orders posting change notices

Transfer requirements are goods movement requests that are mainly automatically created by transactions in other SAP modules.

For example, when a goods receipt document is posted in Inventory Management, a corresponding transfer requirement detailing the material, quantity and movement parameters is created.

Similarly, when a delivery in Sales and Distribution (SD) is created, a corresponding transfer requirement is created automatically for picking. All this will happen provided the plant and storage location is activated for WM processing.

A posting change notice on the hand; is used to show a change in information about the stock itself. A posting change generally refers to a book-keeping change (for example, the change in stock category or special stock information). Usually, the goods itself remain in the same physical location.

Posting changes are also raised automatically in the background triggered by a transaction, primarily in Inventory Management.

Both transfer requirements and posting changes are then converted to a transfer order, which is a document used to support every movement in the warehouse. It contains all the

Page 46: WM Project Approach Reporting

important movement data, such as the material, quantity, storage bins involved, etc.

In some cases, transfer orders can be set to be generated automatically from posting changes and transfer requirements.

The following standard SAP WM document reports are available:

1.Transfer requirement overview2.Evaluation of movement per storage type3.Transfer order document overview4.Transfer order detailed overview5.Transfer order with differences6.Evaluation of material movement frequency3.4.1 Transfer Requirement Overview

3.6 Stock Comparison (WM vs. IM)

About Stock Comparison between WM and IM

For each Inventory Management document posted for a plant and storage location with WM active, a corresponding goods movement should be triggered in WM.

Sometimes, the stock in IM may not correspond to the WM stock. This may happen if the link is broken, eg. Someone intentionally deletes a transfer requirement before the transfer order is generated.

The stock comparison function compares stock in the Warehouse Management system with stock in the Inventory Management system and searches for differences. To clear differences, you can create a batch input file.

3.6.1 Stock Comparison IM/WM

Why?

To compare if there are any discrepancies between IM and WM and to take action to resolve.

Before you start

Consider whether batch input file should be created.

How?

3.7 Standard Analyses (Warehouse Info System)

About Standard Analyses

The Warehouse Management system is integrated with the SAP Logistics Information System (LIS) to support the analysis of the physical flow of quantities in the warehouse. The evaluations for Warehouse Controlling are integrated with the Inventory Controlling menu as standard analyses.

The data on which all five standard analyses for Warehouse Controlling are based form data that are updated to the information structures S090 and S091. The following five standard analyses for Warehouse Management exist in Inventory Controlling:

Stock placement/removal Quantity flow Material placement/removal Material flow Movement types
