WHO’S ON WHEN…...
FRIDAY—9th Aug ‘Gently Does it’
Gate open at 4pm — 11pm Mumbo-Jumbo 8.00 pm
A close-harmony, eclectic, semi-acoustic piano-led wonder, Mumbo-
Jumbo plays rootsy original and rarely heard stuff in their own inimitable
style !
It brings together three top Midlands acoustic musicians/vocalists to pro-
duce an 'Eclectic Acoustic' sound that is all their own, playing festivals,
blues, acoustic and folk clubs, theatres, weekenders and pubs across the
country.
The band's new CD 'Life of Riley' launched in January 2012 has received
rave reviews for its musicianship and songwriting, plenty of radio airplay
and gained the band a nomination in the British Blues Awards 2012 for
Best Original Song/Songwriter.
Mumbo-Jumbo's recent festival schedule includes the Great British R&B
Festival, Banbury Blues, Nantwich Blues, Bromsgrove Folk, Upton Blues,
Blues at The Fold , Taurus and Hay Philosophy Festival and they have
played on our main line up three years running (so we know what we are
getting!) www.mumbo-jumbo.biz
Jigsaw Community Festivals is now able to offer a package of bands, PA, lights, mar-
quee and stage for venues looking to put on a festival themselves.
Saturday—’Live and Kickin’
Gate open at 1pm — 11pm Dave Onions 2.00 pm
Dave is a successful solo artist and gifted multi-instrumentalist. He has released three solo albums, where he plays acoustic, electric and bass guitars, mandolin, banjo, and various other instruments.
Dave's acoustic guitar style is uniquely percussive - that and his own finger-picking techniques and self-penned material adds up to an eclectic mix defying comparison or categorisation. Influenced by life, the world and
what's happening in it, his songs are delivered with conviction, humour &
a helping of well placed cynicism. www.daveonions.co.uk
Boperator 3.20 pm
A lot of hard work has been put into creating apt arrangements that reflect the fun side of Boperator's boogie-blues music whilst keeping the essence of the style intact. Oh yeah, there's all the Ray Charles, Louis Jordan; Big Joe Turner; Willie Dixon and more right there to get your feet moving. These Boperator guys have played with and especially absorbed a lot of the original boogie-blues players whose music they feature. Mature team? Hmmm, hell yes but it pays off and certainly shows in their playing! The set cover favourite tunes from the '40's and into the '50's, damn, it's exciting and not a little
risqué in places! www.boperator.com
The Sarah Warren Band 4.50 pm
Having been compared to the likes of Janis Joplin and Steve Marriott, Sarah Warren firmly believes in an „all or nothing‟ approach to performing and attacks with a truckload of attitude and confidence. Sarah brings her full band to rock the Jinney Ring with her own brand of country blues.

Saturday—’Live and Kickin’ Robert Hokum (front cover) 6.20pm
Robert Hokum & The Guv‟nors from Ealing, home of the British Blues revival, are „A funky spanking of the blues‟ – fusing the blues with
influences from funk, latin and hip-hop. Music you can dance to but with substantial musical virtuosity if you just want to listen. Blues Matters said,'Their unique blend of Latin, funk and hip-hop rhythms, make their music a joyous event....percussive power and great rhythmic feel'.

Stomp & Holler 8.00 pm
Bringing the street sounds and swamps of New Orleans to the Regal comes Stomp & Holler. A big, bold festival favourite blues band with a brass section and six singers, the band is led by Oliver Carpenter and Abby Brant previously at the Jinney Ring with The Big Blues Tribe and features four British Blues Award nominees..
From the first growl to the last chord they‟ll have you stomping and hollering for more as they move from groove to groove and beat to beat, taking you on a musical journey around the swamps, bayou‟s and dancefloors of the blues – all with a real sense of humour.

Dr Teeth Big Band 9.45 pm
Steve Steinhaus, larger than life American bluesman who made such an impression with his smaller band last year before rushing off to play at the Olympics, brings his full Dr Teeth Big Band to the Jinney Ring.
Supported by a jumpin' ensemble of blues musicians including Ex MYJO stalwart Tasha
"Boom Boom" Buxton on drums, Chicago Blues shouter Steve shares his infectious love for the blues and weaves tales from his childhood in Chicago and of his experiences as a bouncer, poet and
musician into and around the eclectic range of blues and roots tunes...it is such sweet thunder indeed. www.the-teeth.co.uk
