Program Basics Programs are multi-person phone conversations (Conference call). No special equipment needed,
just your average phone! Each phone session lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. You are able to be part of a Centre from the comfort of your home where you can talk, listen and interact with each other.

Trivia
Researchers have found that memory loss can be improved simply by doing mental exercise every day. Give your brain a workout with our trivia ques-tions.
Categories
Name a type of flower, a hockey team, a brand of cereal! Work together as a group to see how many items in a category you can name!
Ways with words
It Is a brain-stimulating word activity. Based on the clues that are given, participants are challenged to complete words using specific letters that are either at the beginning or at the end of the word.
Riddles & Brain Teasers
Brain Teasers and Riddles is a brain-stimulating ac-tivity that is a bit more of a challenge than regular Trivia. These are logic puzzles, where many times the answer is “in the clue” but not the obvious an-swer.

and try not to interrupt others. To allow the facilitator
and guest speakers to direct the group. To allow every-

Pedal to the Parks
In this short story we meet John and Jeremy Price of Ogunquit, Maine. They are a father and son who share a deep love and devotion for one another. From its inception, their story spans nearly half a cen-tury, but this part of their journey dates back about 35 years and features their mutual dream of touring selected national parks by bicycle. As events arise to interfere with their plans, opportunities to demon-strate their unbreakable bond are realized. Read on to join this father and son on their excursion through the cycle of life, as John recuperates from hip re-placement surgery, and Jeremy prepares a surprise celebration for his dad’s 75th birthday.

Sea Glass on the Shore
This short story transports us on a journey back in time. It begins in 1923, as a very young Frances Mul-doon sets out from Ireland and heads to Boston for a chance at a new life. Fifty years later, while vacation-ing in Nova Scotia during the summer of 1973, Fran makes an improbable discovery as she searches for sea glass on a beach near Halifax. Has she found this momentous piece of her past, or has it found her? And in what way will it change a life now half a cen-tury in the making?
Oral health for seniors
Monday, August 9th at 1:30pm
Seniors are living longer than ever before. Advances in oral health care prevention and disease treatment mean that many seniors will have some or all of their natural teeth. This session will touch on: Oral health, caring for your mouth and teeth, toothbrush modifi-cations, caring for dentures and dental implants, dry mouth, know your mouth and oral health and older adults with dementia.
Star of the month Join us in this fun new segment and discover many interesting facts about the Star of the month. The fa-cilitator will share the Star’s biography, will ask some Trivia questions pertaining to the Star, share some famous quotes and we will finish off with a group dis-cussion.

In this celebration of Canadian inventors, we will discuss in detail some of their life-changing inventions and the wide range of ways Canadians have improved the world. Also included are trivia and quizzes along with questions to get the conversation started.

Canada Day is observed each July 1 to acknowledge the birth of Canada. On July 1, 1867, the British North America Act joined the original four provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Quebec to create one Canadian na-tion. As we celebrate this national holiday, let’s enjoy the music of eight Canadian singers. Learn about the life of each musician and solve clues to identify one of their popular songs. The activity concludes with a few discussion questions.
Who Am I? Celebrating a Mystery Person born this month

Can you guess who is the mystery person before hearing all 20 clues? Once the person has been revealed, the speaker will share with the group a biography summary, some fun facts about this person and some great discussion starters.

Curious? Come join the group and together find out what the Mystery Thing is!
