DİZAYN GROUPDizayn Group, established in 1987 to conduct R&D works, succeeded to produce its first R&D output of PPR pipes and fittings with specially designed molecular structure in 1991.

Since the brand name Dizayn has been identified with the production and sales of pipes and fittings in time, Dizayn has been positioned as a pipe brand and the R&D team has been restored as an independent body with the name Mir AR-GE.

Dizayn Group had been gathered under the roof of Mir Holding in 2010 like Mir AR-GE and other companies under the holding.

Mir AR-GE succeeded to settle all the companies within the holding to a particular place in the World by using 6% of Mir Holding’s revenue for R&D works.

DİZAYN UV RESISTANT PIPES

Ultraviolet lights from the sun cause changes in mechanical characteristics of Polypropylene materials like in many plastic materials by damaging their structure. Of the ultraviolet lights, the ones that have wave length below 290 nm are absorbed by the atmosphere, however, the ones between 290-400 nm damage plastics. Ultraviolet lights cause breaking of the chains in the molecule structure of plastic and emerging of the free radicals. These free radicals reveal damages photo-oxidation or photo-chemical decay on polymeric material based on a chain reaction. In conclusion, as they cause loss of radiance, fractures and color fading by spoiling the plasticís structure, ultraviolet lights also affect the plastics electric and mechanical characteristics in a negative way. Carbon black is used in industries against abrasive effects of the sunlight. Carbon black is a UV light blocker which has the most widespread usage area and which is the most effective in plastics applications. It prevents photo-oxidation by absorbing the radiation harmful for plastics thanks to their surface chemical features.

In plastic pipe sector, carbon black is used in corrugated and spiral pipes, agricultural irrigation pipes; in short, in every pipe and fitting that is exposed to sunlight. However, it cannot be used in pipes and fitting for which black color is not preferred since it has the feature of coloring the products with black. In those cases, additives called UV stabilizers are used. Unfortunately those pipes produced with those additives do not have lifespans as much as those produced with carbon black. Moreover, they are more costly. Since the PPR pipes (white, grey and green) in our standard production are used in in-building installments and have definite colors, the lifespan of the UV stabilizers in their raw material is limited. Therefore, if PPR pipes are to be used in solar energy systems in which pipes are exposed to sunlight directly and for a long time, either raw material must have enough carbon black or the products must be isolated against sunlight.

The reason for the development of Dizayn UV Resistant pipes is the low resistance values of standart PPR pipes against sunlight. In installments open to direct sunlight either Dizayn UV Resistant Pipes must be used or UV isolation must be applied on standard PPR pipes. Dizayn UV Resistant Pipes have the same qualities as Dizayn PPR Pipes except for their carbon black additive, which significantly increases their UV resistance. Because of carbon black the product is produced in black color.

Dizayn Oxy Plus UV Resistant Pipes Prevent the Penetration of Oxygen Molecules

In foilless and perforated foiled pipes, oxygen molecules diffuse through polymer chains to the system water. Dissolved oxygen molecules in the system water react with iron and steel parts. Due to this reaction, we observe iron oxide, in other words corrosion, in radiators and boilers. This results in leakages in the metal components. As the amount of corrosion increase, the viscosity of the system liquid deteriorates. The system cannot transfer the heat efficiently due to poor quality of the system water. Comfort condition can only be maintained with more energy consumption. In perforated type oxy-stable pipes, oxygen molecules diffuse the heating system and cause corrosion in the system. Considering size of the holes in a perforated type pipe, it is quite clear that there is no difference between foilless pipes and perforated type oxy stable pipes. On the other hand, Dizayn Oxy Plus UV Resistant Pipes prevent oxygen molecules from permeation the system thanks to its imperforated foil and high adhesion capability. The heating system always works efficiently with no corrosion whatsoever in the metal parts.

Dizayn Oxy Plus UV Resistant Pipes Has Minimum Expansion Coefficient

Comparison of Dizayn Oxy Plus UV Resistant Pipes with a standard pipe having no aluminum layer in a heating system in which 80˚C hot water circulates, one meter of normal plastic pipe having no aluminum layer inside expands 10,8 mm, whereas Dizayn Oxy Plus UV Resistant Pipes expands only 1 mm.

In heating systems, pipes are fixed to walls with pipe clamps. When an ordinary pipe with no aluminum layer is used, due to hot water circulating in the system, the pipe, being unable to expand by 10 mm because of the clamps, bends by 40mm. Dizayn Oxy Plus UV Resistant Pipes never bend.

DİZAYN HEATING INSALLATION PIPES

Combi boiler installations work as closed circuits. In such installations, Oxygen molecules in the air may diffuse into the system because of the concentration differences. Those Oxygen molecules penetrating into the water in the system causes problems like corrosion, cavitation and erosion in metal parts; lower efficiency, increased upkeep frequency, pump problems in devices and heating and circulation difficulties in certain parts of the installments.

Oxygen penetration into the closed circuit type installations happens through plastic pipes because of the usage of plastic pipes without Oxygen barrier (standard PPR pipes, PEX pipes, Glass Reinforced PPR – composite- pipes etc.). You can see the Oxgyen levels entering into the system based on the pipe type below.

If stabile pipes are used in the system, conjunction is made with PPR fittings that has no Oxygen barrier. In such cases Oxygen pass into the system occurs because of the fittings used. WELDING METHOD FOR OXY PLUS COMBI PIPES

Push the Oxy Plus Combi Pipe and its fitting vertically towards the special welding screw plate at the same time. The special welding screw plate was designed to prevent possible mistakes by installation workers.

After you see that the melted material comes through the holes on the special welding screw plate, remove the pipe and its fitting from the screw plate (When you look at the face removed from the screw plate, you will see that the aluminum folio in the middle is inside the plastic.). Special welding screw plate should certainly be used while welding Oxy Plus Combi Pipes.

Connect the pipe and fitting you removed from the screw plate immediately. Do not turn the pipe and fitting while connecting.

Our company guarantees installations made connecting Dizayn Pipe with Dizayn fittings and complying with the defined rules.

Important Note:

1- Screw plates used for welding should comply with DVS2208.

2- Welding method mentioned above can be applied for all Dizayn Oxy Plus Pipes.

Check whether the welding machine is heated up to 2600C, the thermostat lamb went off and the screw plate is clean.

Cut the Oxy Plus Combi pipe vertical to the axis using pipe scissors.

Place the Oxy Plus Combi Pipe inside the face smoothing tool. Do not forget that cutting the face vertical to the axis is not always possible with pipe scissors. Cutting the face horizontal causes problems during the welding process. Face smoothing tool is an elegant, well-designed engineering product that will solve this problem. Face smoothing tool has to be used.

Smoothen the face of the pipe using the face smoothing tool and make sure that a channel is opened in the part covered with folio. The face should be smoothened until the whole face surface touches the bottom of the face smoothening tool. Dizayn Group does not guarantee installations made without using face smoothening tool.

Following Items Must Be Considered When Using PPR Pipes and Fittings:

1. Pipes must be protected against impacts and beats before and through installation.

2. PPR pipes must be protected against long time exposure to UV lights before and after installation. The areas of the pipes that are exposed to UV lights must be insulated.

3. When the installation is completed, a pressure test must be run (DIN 1988). It is not right to conduct the pressure test with the network pressure value. The pressure test must be run after the installation is completed and with a 1,5 times higher pressure value (generally 15 bars) as opposed to the network pressure.

4. PPR pipe installations must be protected against the danger of frost. The areas with risk of frost must be insulated. Water in the installation must be drained if the installation shall not be used and so any damage to pipes because of high pressures caused by frost must be prevented.

5. Metal pipes should be preferred in the first 1-1,5 meter part of hot water exit in devices like combi boilers because of instant high temperatures that may take place in such devices and then should be switched to PPR pipes. This way, potential problems shall be prevented.

6. Compliance of welding threaders used in welding process to the standards must be taken into account. Welding must not be done with threaders whose teflon is worn out.

7. Metal fittings with conical metal structure must not be used in connections.

8. Dirty pipes and fittings should not be used before cleaning.

9. Over-tightening must be avoided in mounting of metal fittings.

10. The scissors used for cutting the pipes must be sharp.

11. Technical catalogues must be used to compensate expansions (elongation and shortening).

12. Clamp distances for PPR pipes must be same with the table below:

Welding Method for PPR Pipes and Fittings

1. Check whether the welding machine is heated up to 2600C, the thermostat lamb went off and the screw plates are clean.

2. Cut the pipe vertical to its axis using pipe scissors. Check whether the pipe and fitting are clean and dry or not. If needed, clean the pipe and fittings with dry fabric.

3. Push the pipe and the fitting vertically towards the special welding screw plate at the same time.

4. Connect Dizayn Sanitary PPR pipes only with Dizayn Sanitary PPR fittings. Our company guarantees installations made connecting Dizayn Pipes with Dizayn fittings and complying with the defined rules.

5. Until you see that the melted material comes through the holes on the special welding screw plate, heat the pipe and fitting in the screw plate. Special Welding Screw Plate must certainly be used while welding Dizayn PPR Sanitary Pipes.

6. Do not turn the pipe or fitting during welding or connecting.

7. Connect the pipe and the fitting immediately after removing from the screw plate.

Where are the PEX pipes used?

Pex pipes are used especially in heating systems, but they are also used in sanitary systems. Under-floor heating and radiator entries (mobile system) are the main fields of application.

How many types of PEX pipes are there and what are the differences between them?

There are a, b, c and d types of Pex .All these types are tested for the same standards. The only differences between these are the production methods used. For PEXa peroxide, for PEXb silan, for PEXc radiation and for PEXd Nitrogen methods are used to form crosslinks.

What does thermoset mean?

Plastics that may be re-used through turning them into granules are called thermoset, which may not be used again are called thermoplastic. PEX turns into cross-link after being processed in the production. Polymer chains make bonds with the neighboring chains and form a unique molecule. After this structure is formed it is not possible to use it again as a new product. Because of this it doesn’t belong to the thermoset group.

How much should the distances between pipe installations under-floor heating systems be?

The distances between the pipes should be 10 cm. At places like windows and balconies where the loss of heat is high it should be 5 cm.

DİZAYN INFRASTRUCTURE PIPES


The unique mobile production system pioneered by Dizayn Group for spiral pipes present huge advantages. Especially bringing in big amounts by deleting transportation costs al-most totally, this technology also contributes substantially to the protection of the environ-ment due to the items it subtracts from the project.

Used in different cities (Sivas, Çorum and Sinop) in Turkey before and newly being used in Ordu, contractor firms’ costs are reduced in significant amounts thanks to this magnificent technology. Especially in Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) projects, corrugates spiral pipes are needed in big radius. By the use of our mobile production facility pipes up to 2,5 m radius can be produced on site. Thanks to Dizayn Group’s on site production technology transpor-tation costs are almost totally eliminated and project costs are reduced.

One other important advantage presented by Dizayn Group mobile production facility to project owners and contractors is the reduction in assembly costs. Corrugated spiral pipes, which can be produced at most up to 10 meters long because of the transportation limi-tations, can be produced up to 100 meters long thanks to Dizayn Group mobile production system. Thus, costs for assembling each pipe decreases significantly.

These products also have the fragility of being diminished while transported. By mobile production system this risk is eliminated. Hundreds of hours and labor power that needed for the upload and unload of tens of trucks is saved.

Another important saving from expense items in this type of projects is the lesser usage of petroleum. Tons of oil to be used on hundreds of kms roads by tens of trucks is saved by this system. Additionally, by excluding those trucks from the roads, both the possible traffic load and the exhaust of toxic gases to the air by them are prevented.
