Principal’s Report NAIDOC week is upon us and thanks to Mrs Dunn we have a full week of activities lined up to celebrate indigenous education. Next week is Education Week which includes our Open Day on Wednesday. I am excited to announce that Ariah Park Central will receive a new Moduplay playground area in the primary playground adjacent to the existing play area. This new equipment is thanks to the P&C for their efforts to design and apply for joint funding with the Department of Education and Communities. I am very pleased with this outcome and look forward to displaying plans in the near future. I would anticipate the new area to be operational term 4. I will be available Tuesday afternoon throughout parent/teacher interviews if anyone would like to take the opportunity to drop in and discuss education or just say G’day. Take care. Morning Tea - Open Day On Open Day (Wednesday, 31st July) the Years 9/10 and 11/12 Hospitality classes will be holding a morning tea. We would like expressions of interest to be able to prepare appropriate quantities. The morning tea will involve a selection of cakes, slices, biscuits, scones, sandwiches, mini quiches and a few extra treats and includes tea/coffee. The cost will be $12 per person or $15 per person with coffee machine varieties including cappuccinos and lattes. Please fill in the expression of interest in the back of the newsletter so you do not miss out as those people who put in an EOI will be seated first. Due to catering constraints, there will be no “on the day” ordering available. Can you please

return these by this Wednesday 24th July. Miss Ostle

At the conclusion of last term, the

SRC approached

businesses to ask for donated goods to use as prizes at our events this year. We hope that the prizes will encourage students to continue to participate in the events that the SRC run and to support the school projects and charities for which they fundraise. Over a series of newsletters, we will be including ‘Thank Yous’ to the businesses that kindly donated to us. All of the donations are greatly appreciated. This week’s THANK YOU is for: Ariah Park Landmark, who donated a

pocket GPS AND

Cornfords Hardware, who donated a blue light and a lady bug money

sPORT NEWS Riverina Cross Country Carnival On Friday, 19th July, Matthew Davey and his family travelled to Eastern Creek for Matthew to participate in the CHS State Cross Country Carnival. Matthew ran a great race on the day and he really enjoyed the experience. Very few people from our secondary school have ever made it away to state level for Cross Country, making this a very special achievement. Well Done, Matthew! Mrs Dunn
