News at Central PRINCIPAL: Michael Fisher
Welcome to another awesome term at Broken Hill Public School.
We look forward to more exceptional learning at Central this
term and continue to inspire the Power Of Positives (POP).
Congratulations
Congratulations to our newly inducted School Representative
Council (SRC) who received their badges during the last week
of last term. We look forward to all the work you will do as
leaders in our school.
Congratulations also to our Gala Day teams who competed
during the last week of Term 2. Great efforts from our Boys AFL
and Girls Netball teams as they took on other schools in Broken
Hill. Thank you to the staff who coached and assisted on the
day.
Reports
During the last week of Term 2, families will have received
Semester 1 Reports, highlighting their child’s progress so far this
year. It is a great opportunity to talk with your child about their
progress and setting goals for the rest of the year. If you have
any questions please contact your child’s class teacher to
arrange a time.
Term Planner
A term planner is being sent home to all families that highlight
important dates and events in the school. Please place this in a
prominent place to keep you informed. Other things may ‘crop
up’ during the term that are not on the planner but notes will be
sent out with any relevant information.

Speech and Drama times will be given to the class teacher, who will let you know.
The dates for the Eisteddfod are as follows: Saturday 17th August Piano – from 10.00am Instrumental – from 2.00pm
Sunday 18th August Vocal events – 9.30am and 2.00pm
Monday 19th August School choirs – from 9.30am Vocal, Choral, Pop Star final – from 7.00pm Tuesday 20th August Speech and Drama events – from 9.30am and 1.30pm Wednesday 21st August Verse Speaking Choirs (1Z and 3/4H) – from 10.00am Parents, if you have any questions please contact myself for Music events, or the class teacher for Speech and Drama events. The Class Dojo is always a good method for communication, if you can. TIP: This year is the 50th year of the Broken Hill Eisteddfod, so it’s going to be a real showstopper.
