Lesson 1 June 3, 2018 Item 1—Attendance Chart. Third- and fourth- graders enjoy building a visual record of achievements. Reward their faithfulness in coming each week with a miniature seal to add in the space provided. The Choosing Godly Values title on the chart is a silent reminder each week to choose beliefs that set God’s people apart. Item 2—Ten Commandments Poster. Public schools may ban the display of God’s Commandments, but your class is the ideal place for children to learn God’s rules for living. Laminate the visual before using it, if possible. Display it in your room for the three months study on the theme of God’s People and the World. Item 3—Truth Teaching Picture. There are no exits from truth for it to remain truth. Dishonesty hurts everyone. Use the visual to stress the value of truthfulness in all circumstances. Everyone disdains lying, but many may look the other direction about false impressions or deceit in other forms. Any deviation from truth is dishonest as this picture reflects. Figures—Figures 1-1 through 1-6 illustrate the story of Jacob’s deceit of his father and brother. Cut out the figures and use them as instructed in the Bible story in the teacher’s guide. Lesson 2 June 10, 2018 Turn-a-Scene Visual—The Bible principle of sowing and reaping came true in Jacob’s life. The Bible story tells how his uncle deceived him. Trim away the outer margins of the visual. Fold and crease along the broken lines between the three panels. Tape the edges together to make a triangle-shaped visual. Set the visual before learners and turn as story details change. Lesson 3 June 17, 2018 Figures—Joseph is a Bible hero. He remained faithful to godly values in adversities that might have overcome one of lesser character. Figures 3-1 through 3-6 used to illustrate the details covered in this story will help learners understand Joseph’s integrity. Lesson 4 June 24, 2018 Item 4—Photo Poster. Jesus spoke the words of the Bible Insight verse for Lesson 4 to resist Satan’s temptation in the wilderness. The Bible verse poster makes an interesting reminder that the great Creator alone deserves our worship and service. Display the visual on a cardboard tabletop easel or directly on the wall. Stand-up Figures—Cut out figures 4-1, 4-2 and 4-3 with the extending tabs at the sides of each. Fold back along broken lines on each figure. Set the figures on a table to illustrate scenes of the Bible story. Lesson 5 July 1, 2018 Storyboard Figures—Help learners visualize the story of the twelve spies to Canaan with figures 5-1 through 5-5 used in a Styrofoam storyboard. Use a rectangle piece of Styrofoam 1'' thick. Cut ½'' deep slits across the length of it. Slits should be about 1'' apart. Insert the tab at the bottom of the figure into one of the slits. Placing the figures in different slits gives depth perspective to the visuals.
