School Closure Daily Learning Plan: Reception Hello Everyone The rain returned yesterday and I’m afraid the weathermen have said it’s going to be wet again today. However, you can still get outside if you put a waterproof coat on and wellies. Perhaps you might like to go and be Peppa Pig and jump in muddy puddles! Today will be tricky words day where you can revise and practice as many pages as you want. You might want to do some tomorrow or over the weekend too. In maths there is a challenge to sequence fish in order of the numbers on their scales all the way from 1 – 20. As a challenge, see if you can do it without your number line today. Have a lovely day Love from Mrs Turley Week 12 – Thursday 2 nd July 2020 Subject Area Task Phonics Tricky Words Now that we have now finished learning all the tricky words in Reception, we are now revising the tricky words from Phase 2, Phase 3 and Phase 4. This is the time to ensure your child confidently reads, spells and writes independently the words we have covered. Each week I will post a formal activity to help, but you can continue to use the tricky word songs, tricky word books, tricky word games using the computer / tablets and spelling tests. This week I have included a booklet for helping with Phase 4 words. If you have access to a printer, print and use these some or all of these pages to help your child be able to read, match and write these words by themselves. If you do not have access to a printer, ask your child to use their tricky word book to read and copy the words and then see if they can write them without looking. Maths Revising Reading & Sequencing Numbers to 20 As your child to say the numbers from 0-20 (and up to 100 if they can). School Closure Daily Learning Plan: Reception

Hello Everyone

The rain returned yesterday and I’m afraid the weathermen have said it’s going to be wet again today.

Have a lovely dayLove fromMrs Turley

Phonics Tricky WordsNow that we have now finished learning all the tricky words in Reception, we are now revising the tricky words from Phase 2, Phase 3 and Phase 4.

Maths Revising Reading & Sequencing Numbers to 20As your child to say the numbers from 0-20 (and up to 100 if they can). Sing the counting songs on the class website https://www.st-annes.walsall.sch.uk/video-clips-summer-2/.

If you have access to a printer, download and print the document below and ask your child to cut and sequence in order the numbers to 20. You might like to print it and make a fishing game for your child to read the fish they catch.

If you don’t have access to a printer, draw 20 fish and write the numbers from 1-20 on them. You child can then sequence of you can make a fishing game as above.

TO BE

Under The Sea Creatures – FishThis week we are going to learn a little about fish in the sea. Fish are amazing creatures and come in all colours, shapes and sizes.

Watch the video ‘Facts About Fish’ from the class website. https://st-annes-sutton-

COMPLETED MONDAY & THURSDAY

coldfield.secure-primarysite.net/video-clips-summer-2/ Talk to your child about what they have learned. Talk about new vocabulary that has been introduced and what it means.

Writing Facts About FishAsk your child to tell you some of the facts they have learned. Ask them to say a sentence using a noisy full stop. If you want to print the fish writing page you might like to, but your child can use plain paper and draw a picture of a fish at the end. Remember to use a capital letter, finger spaces and full stops.

Make A FishTime to get creative and make your own fish. I have included some ideas above. Use whatever collage or painting materials you have available. Let your imagination go wild. It might be a replication of a real fish or your own design.

Decorate Your Own FishIf you have access to a printer, print out the document ‘Decorate Your Own Fish’. If you do not have a printer, draw the outline of a fish. Using felt pens, crayons, pencils and/or collage materials ask your child to design their own fish. Think about the colours and shapes of their fins etc.

Fish Colouring SheetsIf you have access to a printer, download and print the fish colouring sheets and let your child spend some time decorating fish. Perhaps use this as a mindfulness activity and put some mindfulness music on in the background (found in Autumn 1 videos).

The Rainbow FishIf you have the story at home share the story together. I have uploaded a video of the story on the class video page: https://st-annes-sutton-coldfield.secure-primarysite.net/video-clips-summer-2/Talk about the story and what The Rainbow Fish learned. Talk about the importance of sharing. If you have access to a printer, you might like to print one of the special Rainbow Fish pages. You can use plain lined paper if you would like.Ask your child to retell the story in their own words saying one sentence at a time using a noisy full stop and then encourage them to write their story using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. Then draw a picture of your favourite part.If you have further stories and adventures of the Rainbow Fish, share them with your child.

Come Outside – FishI have added a video of Auntie Mable going in her spotty plane to find out about fish. Cuddle up on the sofa and spend 15 minutes watching Pippin and Auntie Mable learning all about fish.
