Le TREG®, What is all about ?Le TREG® is a unique athletic and cultural

adventure in the Ennedi, where you can immerse yourself in the majestic beauty of

the Chad desert!A newly discovered destination that is slowly opening up to tourism thanks to our partners, the Chadian Tourism Board (OTT) and Point-Afrique Voyages

What is the meaning of Le TREG® ?

It is the contraction of "TRAIL", referring to a kind of race with the word "REG",

which designates a desert land !

Le TREG ® has the ambition to become the benchmark of non-stop

environmental Desert Trail races!

unique and authentic in the Ennedi synthesis of all the deserts … in Chad!

Le TREG® and his environmentThe village of Le TREG® is the base camp for all participants and the organization team because the start and the arrival take place there. The simple comfort and its set-up is ideal for 5 days of conviviality and sharing. - Accommodation in typical tents Yégés sleeps 4with mattresses - Dry Toilets - Shower stalls - Small local chairs - Cocktail - Visits to the natural sites in 4x4 before and after the race - Bar & big space for lunches & dinners - Medical Tent.


Le TREG® and his environmentOne of the goals of Le TREG® is to share with the inhabitants of the Ennedi, and we have included them into the organization. So thanks to Marc Point-Afrique, many jobs are offered :

- Complete construction of the village of Le TREG® by women's groups of Archei

Other Race information


Start and finish at the same camp at the same time February 5th 2015 at 7:00 am.

Opportunity to start the 180km or 90km race and then to finish a shorter distance if you want to.

Time limits and time barriers are not very restrictive to allow for a maximum of finishers.

Healthcare Point Controls are equipped with mattresses and blankets to rest.

Technological resources


Security of all participants through Tags Satellites Spot allowing them to trigger

an emergency SOS or request help.

Opportunity for partners, families and friends to follow your progress in real

time at the heart of the Ennedi through service managed by Nexxtep Sport.

This service enables the organization to follow all competitors and team organizers and detect direction

mistakes. Participants can pre-race, review the course and then replay their

race!


Required materials provided by the runner :Rucksack - water bladder and / or gourd - sunscreen glasses - Headgear (hats, bandanas, ...) – sized of the runner Wind Cut - Compass - Lighter - Knife with a minimum metal blade of 5cm - Aspivenin Pump - Antiseptic skin - adhesive elastic band to make a bandage or a strapping (mini 80cm x 3 cm) - Signalling mirror 6cm diameter - salt tablets - whistle - Headlamp and spare battery - sleeping bag or duvet or aluminum pack (not allowed silk cloth bag, meat, cloth bag) - 4000 calories diet

Highly recommended :Scarf to protect against sandstorms - Leggings protection against the sand at the level of the shoes

AdventureLe TREG® is a test for many racers to excel without exceeding their limits. It is also a test in self-sufficiency, auto navigation and non-stop over a distance of 180km in unusual conditions. Isn’t that the ultimate Adventure?

AuthenticityLe TREG® takes place in the Region of Ennedi in Chad that has not benefited from Sahelian tourism 2000s and remains untouched by any tourism development. Majestic sites of incredible beauty in the lush desert where time seems to have stopped ! But the desert is alive and humbling !

ConvivialityLe TREG® is made by trailers for trailers, who are serious but never take themselves seriously. On Le TREG®, you leave behind the worries and hassles to challenge yourself with a smile, joy and good humor as well as making the most of the social exchanges between runners.

SecurityChallenges without endangering could be the slogan of Le TREG®! An experienced medical staff and appropriate technology, all in the service of runners achieve this goal.

SolidarityLe TREG® is integral for the populations that welcome us first because it generates income that directly benefit people (royalties sites, construction of the camp departure & arrival, accommodation camp family, ..). Like many difficult trials, Le TREG® allows natural solidarity between runners who made their living shared with any other similar emotions.

Respect for nature and its inhabitantsLe TREG® requires in priority to respect the wilderness and its inhabitants, leaving no waste on the route of the race, do not forget to respect the customs and traditions of our guests. We integrate our sport in the environment and not the reverse.

SOME NECESSARY PROCEDURES

VISA requirements and vaccinations are needed. It must be done:- A tourist visa required for travel to Chad (70 €).- A passport valid for 6 months after the return date.- Vaccines :A mandatory vaccine = the Yellow Fever vaccine.A recommended vaccine = DTP (Diphtheria - Tetanus - Poliomyelitis).Preventive treatment against malaria is recommended
