Reflection on LearningChallenges/Problems Outcomes

Understanding a new environment for building a program

Working with individuals to find out more about the program and school vision

Understanding the dynamic relationship with districts and the local community

Collaboratively work with with districts and communities to build the most effective student learning and support program

Understanding the budget constraints with districts and how many students they will support funding for to attend summer program

Working with the districts to give them support in writing into student IEP’s to make sure students get the funding for ESY (extended school year) if necessary

Potential for staff changes Ensuring staff flexibility and commitment in order to support program needs

Project MeritsThis project will enable our learning community to provide a broader range of experiences for our students, which will ultimately improve their performance in school

Parents will see and appreciate the additional support that we are providing to their children on an ongoing basis

Teachers feel invested in the program given their involvement in the planning process and will enjoy being able to implement a summer program rather than trying to create one at the time from week to week

Districts will feel that we are fully supporting their students by providing a variety of continuing educational and therapeutic programs
