Security Check InWhen arriving to school, students may only enter through the

front main entrance or the front main gym entrance

Plan to arrive to school early enough to anticipate possible

delays at the security check ins

Empty your pockets and place all items into your bags

Have all of your bags unzipped and ready to be checked by

security

ID Badges

Each student will be issued an I.D. card.

Students must wear their photo ID badge

and lanyard at all times.

result in the following consequences:

1st offense 2 Administrative detentions

2nd offense 1 Saturday Detention

3rd offense 1 In School Suspension

4th offense 1 Out of School Suspension

Swipe In● During the year, students will be required to swipe in at various

locations within the school. Swipe stations will be located at the

following locations:

○ Student Entrances

○ Guidance Office

○ Vice Principal’s Office

○ Nurse’s Office

○ Attendance Office

○ Bathrooms

AttendanceThe State of New Jersey requires all students to be in school 90% of the time

Students cannot exceed 18 absences in a full year course

Students cannot exceed 9 absences in a semester course

Excessive absences will result in loss of class credit

Students are only allowed one attendance appeal per school year

The State of New Jersey only excuses court dates and religious holidays.

Medical Notes are NOT excused and count toward your number of absences

Discipline Your discipline will affect everything you do at the high school.

Students will not attend proms and end of year activities if they exceed 15 demerits.

Students are responsible for tracking their demerits through the discipline tab found

in OnCourse. Demerits

Saturday Detention 2 demerits

In School Suspension 3 demerits

Out of School Suspension 4 demerits

Threats

- Making threats to students or staff members will not

be tolerated

- Students issuing threats that are verbal, gestural,

written or electronic, such as social media, will face

consequences in accordance to our student code of

conduct

Fighting

- There will be zero tolerance for fighting at the high

school

- Fighting may result in appearing in front of the Board

of Education for a Student Discipline Hearing

- Board of Education Discipline Hearings may result in

you being placed out of district, even if it is your first

fight

Vaping Policy● The administration will continue to take the necessary steps when a

student has been found using or in possession of an electronic smoking device which includes vaping device on school grounds or at school sponsored event.

● Given the uncertainty of what substances are contained in these odorless electronic smoking devices and the inability of the High School Administration to verify the contents of such devices through a visual inspection, effective immediately, students found in possession of any electronic smoking devices will be sent out for an immediate medical examination and drug screening as per the district's Substance Abuse Policy.

● Social Media posts made by students that interrupt the operation of school and impede the education of others will be held accountable according to the Student Code of Conduct.

lunch period.

Parking- Only students who were issued a parking pass during the

lottery last Spring are allowed to park on school grounds

- DO NOT park on school ground without a parking pass

- If someone is parked in your spot, park in the “Visitors”

spots in front of the school, and notify the main office. DO

NOT PARK IN SOMEONE ELSE’S SPOT

- If you are parked on school grounds illegally, you will face

consequences based on the Student Code of Conduct which

include, but are not limited to, Saturday Detentions, ISS’s,

and OSS, as well as possible police involvement.
