The first day of work members of journalists´ group (Maria, Miriam, Henriette, Melanie, Giorgia, Miriam and Gintare) presented themselves and their countries traditions for each other.

Spanish girls mentioned corridas and tortilla de patata (typical things for Spanish culture). Lithuanian girl named basketball as a second religion in her homeland country. Another kind of sport – football, as a Norwegian girl said, is very popular in Norway. In Germany, Bavaria the typical event is the ´´Octoberfest´´ (beer festival). Italy representer named pasta and pizza as typical Italian meals. And French student mentioned that people in the south of France (Bordeaux) loves rugby

ENERGY POLICIES GROUP In the group 3, there are 9 people who are:

Arce Sancho, Danielle Portelli, Adrián Juste Prado, Luis Gabás, Katrin Schneyer, Justina Bakanpyte, Erland Anfinsen, Chloé André and Roberto Domingues. They talk about what they did in their countries and what they researched. They also talked about what they can do for the final work.

First, they started to introduce themselves. And then they talked about what they have done during this last months in their countries. Then, they started to work.

THE MAP´S GROUP In this group, there are nine people. And the students

are from different countries. Lucia, Iciar, Jorge and Jorge are Spanish; Mélissa is French; Vilius is Lithuanian, Lene is Norwegian, Christian is German; and Anna is Italian.

This morning, this group have talked about their hobbies, then birthdays, about the different languages, and they also have talked about food.

In the summary of what they have spoken about, there are things such as they eat all kinds of foods, and Jorge thinks “that the cheese is the worst”; that they play saxo, harmonica, or guitar; or that this Saturday the Comenius people will eat dinner at La Tasca.

Also they´ve analyzed the maps and the drawings of Lene in the computer. They´ve talked about the colors in the maps too.

GRAPHICS’ GROUP Today the first group talked about the differences of the energy

mix between the countries. Specially they talked about import and export of energy in the countries and also about different sources of energy.

One Italian girl said that the biggest part of the energy mix produced in Italy is hydroelectric. Italy imports a lot of energy, but it doesn`t export. Italy is a sunny country, but the problem is that it doesn`t use it very much.

Norway produces hydroelectric energy (99%). The country tries to improve their wind mills and they export a lot of fossils energy.

The most produced energy in Germany is fossil energy (75%) the rest of the energy mix is nuclear and renewable energies, like wind. Germany exports a bit of nuclear and a lot of fossil.

Spain is a country which consumer much energy that doesn`t come from renewable energies. They use 80% of the fuels and imports this energy from other countries and also export electricity to France and Portugal.

Lithuania imports natural gas from Russia and uses fossil energy and hydroelectric paver.

France exports more than it imports. The most important energy in France is the nuclear one, but they also use renewable energies.

INTERVIEWS

Page 11: Presentation 4 spain

I have spoken with Jonas, a Lithuanian person from the Comenius Project. He has told me about himself, and about the project.

First, I have asked him about the most popular source of energy that is use in his country, and he said that it´s natural gas and other non-renewable energies. Jonas expects to get some knowledge with the project. And he chose this group because he´s interested in other countries energy systems. His Chemistry teacher told him about this project, and he thought that it was great. It´s the first time in a Comenius Project for him.

Also, we have spoken about his experience in Spain. He likes the host family´s food. And he thinks that it´s difficult to speak with his host family.

Finally, Jonas would like to take part in this project next year, and he wants to know more about Spain and its culture

Chloé, a student from France said, that the most popular energy sources in her country are nuclear energy. She hopes, that she will have fun, meet people from other countries and learn more about energy. She didn´t choose her working group. Her teacher told her about this project. She likes her host family and thinks that she will have a great time. Even if she thinks that the Spanish people eat very late in the evening and that it´s a little bit difficult to speak with her host family, Chloé would like to take part in this project again. She will remember for example the people she had met during her time in Spain and what she learned about energy.

SIGHTSEEING

Page 15: Presentation 4 spain

Mélissa, a French student says that the most popular kind of energy in her country is nuclear energy and after that hydraulic energy.

Her expectations from the project are learning about different cultures and different energies. She says that she hasn´t chosen her group in Comenius project. Her teachers told her about this project.

She thinks her host family is really nice. She speaks with her host family because she understands a little bit of Spanish and speaks a little bit too, but it`s more easy in English. She likes the Spanish culture to go to the disco.

She will participate in this project next year in order to do different things to this year’s. Her best memories about the project will be the contact with the students from the different countries.

Page 17: Presentation 4 spain

Katrin who is from Germany told me that the most popular energy source in Germany is fossil fuel. And from this project she hopes that we can come to a conclusion, and to make contact with other people. The things she likes about her host family is that they are friendly and tries to understand her, and to speak with her. She thinks it is a little difficult to speak with her family, but it works when she mix some Spanish and English. She works in group 3, but she didn´t choose the group herself. When I asked her what memories she will have from this project she said she will remember the people.

MAKING FRIENDS

Page 19: Presentation 4 spain

Two Spanish guys (Loren and Juan) who participate in the project told that the most popular alternative energy source in their country is geothermic energy. Both boys take part in the ´´Sources of energy´´ group. Juan chose this group because he likes to surf the Internet searching information.

One of the project participator from German stays at Loren´s house. As Loren said, talking with his new German friend is a good way of practising English. The only difficulty about speaking is a fast speech of his friend. Also there are some differences between cultures, for ex. food.

When I asked the boys what memories they would have about this project. Loren answered that he wouldn´t forget a successful table tennis match with Comenius project´s participators. And Juan told that he would always remember this interview!

SERIOUS WORK ;)

Page 21: Presentation 4 spain

We interviewed an Italian student called Daniele about the most important energy in his country. He said us that in Italy the most productive power form is the hydroelectric one. He siad to us that he hoped to acquire a greater sensitivity about many forms of renewable energies in the future.

At first Mrs Calderone spoke him about Comenius project. It is his first time in Comenius and he hopes to take part in this project next year.

He said that his host family is very kind. During his first lunch he ate "paella" and he thinks it was delicious. He believes that this exeperience is very great and he will keep it in his heart forever.

Page 22: Presentation 4 spain
Page 23: Presentation 4 spain

Sara, who is from Norway, tells me that the kind of the most popular energy in her country is hydroelectricity. She expects from the project to meet people and to learn something about the differents countries. She didn’t choose her working group, her teacher did and it’s this teacher who told her about this project. She likes some things about her host family like when they try to “take her into their family “and try to communicate. She said it’s difficult to speak with her host family because the parents don’t speak English, so she tries to speak in Spanish and with the sign language. She feels some kind of culture shook in Spain like the “fiestas” and the dinner. If she could, she would like to take part in this project the next year. She will have good memories, meet nice people and have good experience about this project.

OUR SUMMARY It was great to get in contact with other

people from other countries and we hope to stay in touch. Spending time with the Comenius students gave us a great experience and we enjoyed working together. It was a good opportunity to get to know another culture and improve our English and Spanish.
