Open Morning
We enjoyed a very productive School At
Work Open Morning yesterday with many
current and prospective parents looking
around the school. As always the
expectations of our Year 5 and 6 tour
guides are incredibly high and they lived
up to these, as time and time again their
confidence, knowledge, enthusiasm,
excitement and pride in the school was
demonstrated in their speaking, manners
and behaviour. All of the tour guides were
a credit to the school and to themselves!
Our next Open Day is on Saturday 27th

Reception
In Reception we have been learning all about different
minibeasts and where they live. We went on a Minibeast Hunt
around the school grounds and found lots of exciting insects
and recorded them on our chart.
Year 1 have been baking bread this week.
We had a fabulous morning on
Wednesday making bread - we had to
knead the dough for 10 minutes - it was
very hard work. The results were fabulous
- every one made a lovely bread roll. The
smell of the bread baking and the taste of
the finished product were quite
mesmerising.
We had to weigh and measure the
ingredients and follow the instructions of
the recipe. We had a very enjoyable and
educational morning.
Year 1
Year 2 We have been
sharing and
caring with
division this week!
Sometimes with
remainders and
sometimes
without! It can be
quite tricky. We
also know that
multiplication is
the inverse of
division.
Year 3
Our cats are finished! After lots of work cutting out, designing, painting and adding finishing touches our cats are now finished. It has been very exciting seeing them come to life before our eyes. Now they will be with us in the classroom until the end of term. What mischief will they get up to? We will see!
Year 4
Holy Week and the Catholic Faith
Charlotte-Anne did a presentation in class about her religion. She bought in some amazing outfits, pictures,
and information.
Come up to the Science Room and take a stroll down Fifth Avenue! Year 5 have designed some exclusive homes and completed the electrical wiring to provide the internal lighting.
Year 5
We are reading Skellig by David Almond in class and this book is the inspiration for our creative writing tasks this term. Our first piece of writing was to describe the derelict old garage in which a creature seems to be living. For inspiration we crept down into the cellar in Upper Prep, which is dark, gloomy and covered in spiders’ webs! This helped Year 6 come up with some excellent descriptions including ‘ram-shackled’, ‘sagging’ and ‘odour clogged my nose and throat.’ Any number of Year 6 could have been Star Writer of the week with their excellent descriptive writing. You will be able to read some of their work in the school hall later this term.
