    more than half the roduts mareted *y the hemial industries are derivatives of

    'hlorine hemistry5 Almost 1,#!! of these roduts are used in different industrial and

    eonomi setors suh as health, a$ro-food, *uildin$, te7tiles, transort, leisure ativities,

    osmetis et5

    3ith every tonne of 'hlorine that is rodued 151 tonnes of 'austi Soda are also made5

    /ore than half of the 'austi Soda manufatured is used in the hemial industry and the

    rest $oes into roduts suh as soa and te7tiles, or is used in water treatment,

    aluminium rodution and oil refinin$5

    8he &AE $overnment has esta*lished heavy industry in order to inrease diversifiation

    of the eonomy5 Borei$n firms have *een emloyed to rovide e7ertise in lannin$,

    onstrution, mana$ement and maretin$ in return for minority shares in the omanies5

    After 1" hours the rimary olumn is swithed off-line for resin re$eneration and the

    seond olumn is elevated to rimary osition, while the re$enerated olumn is swithed

    into the osition of seondary olumn5 8he resin in the off-line olumn, in whih a lar$e

    amount of multivalent ations have *een a*sor*ed, is re$enerated *y hydrohlori aid

    and austi soda5 As er yle eah olumn is re$enerated after every % hours5 As all
