Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time, September 20, 2015

Heavenly Father, we entrust to Your loving care our Holy Father, Pope Francis, who, in Your Providence, leads and guides the Church throughout the world. As we prepare for his pastoral journey to the United States, fill us, Lord, with the joy of the Gospel. Give us the grace to respond to the Holy Father’s call to encounter Christ, and to become missionary disciples who bear witness to His truth and love. Send your Holy Spirit upon us that we may walk with others,

especially the poor and vulnerable, and bring them to the healing touch of your Son, Jesus. In Your kindness, Lord, give success to the World Meeting of

Families so that under the leadership of Pope Francis, marriage and family life might be strengthened in every land and culture. Look with love

upon our nation. Ensure that the Holy Father’s presence and words inspire us to protect the unborn, the ill, and all those who are vulnerable; to defend our first and most cherished freedom, religious liberty; to welcome the stranger;

and to serve the poor. May this visit of Pope Francis confirm in our hearts the

Gospel principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for the Visit of Pope Francis to the

United States

Please keep our parishioners on pilgrimage

in your prayers!

FR DWIGHT’S MESSAGE

“SUNDAY IS THE LORD’S DAY ; NOT THE LORD’S HOUR!”

I just finished packing. Everything is almost ready to go. I look forward to my first pilgrimage here at Saint Mary's and St Anne Mission... we are going to see our Holy Father Pope Francis in New York and Philadelphia!

It is an amazing thing this life - because as long as you are open to a variety of experiences, as long as you are bold enough to take a step into the unknown, into what you have never done before, then it is always exciting for great life is involved in the ex-periences that it offers.

And we are all the better for it because we had to step out of our comfort zones, we needed to do something different, to come out something different, to make a difference. In a stark way we are making our faith work, albeit harder, and hence we become full of greater purpose.

I, early on, made the choice in my heart to see the Holy Father who was put in that office just for me to give social justice AGAIN the power of Gospel credence, to make Matthew Chapter 25 ring out from every hill high or valley low, to make love more than an existential concept or a cheap, overused and powerless word.

This Pope personally yearns for the place of understanding the plight of the poor and the powerless, the humans daily existing in the "cheap seats of life". The Gospel's power shreds any hint of "better than" or "one more merited than the other", or any kind of that lie... we have lied enough to ourselves as Catholic Christians... We need to STOP!

Love is active faith and purposeful presence; and I am more complete because I dare to step out and love. We dare to experience love wrapped up in frail humanity present in Pope Francis and the expression of love's newness present there.

So that is who I am going to see, my shepherd of my Catholic Church - and pray with him for the world and the world's woes and see his infectious JOY and experience his love for God's people always bubbling over in his heart. Just to be in his presence would be enough for me. Anything more and it would be heaped grace placed upon heaped grace.

I will take all your intentions and needs with me and offer them up for all of you there. I PROMISE! And pray for ALL OF US, your St Mary's and St Anne's pilgrims who are representing all of you.

God bless our parish of St Mary's and St Anne Mission through this pilgrimage.

I AM HERE TO LOVE YOU!! FR. DWIGHT

VISION STATEMENT As a parish under the patronage of Mary, Our Lady, we are called like her, to draw others to Christ. In the midst of this community of Marysville, we recognize the call

from Almighty God to be the light that draws others to believe in God. We must make Christ present by the way we live and the way we love each other. Forgiving always;

being Christ to others ALWAYS! —————
