PTG Teams with PVA Mission: ABLEAs part of Penske Automotive Group, Premier Truck Group has proudly teamed up with Paralyzed Veterans of America’s Mission: ABLE to help ensure that veterans with disabilities receive the care, benefits and job opportunities they’ve earned and deserve. Over the past two years the Premier Truck Group has raised just under $40,000 ($39,007.52) which is matched dollar for dollar by the Penske Automotive Group for this worthy cause.

As a follow up to the recognition Premier Truck Group of Knoxville received at the 2017 Leadership Conference for outstanding contribution to the PVA Mission: ABLE initiative, we wanted to recognize the front-line individuals that have best demonstrated and championed the PVA donation collection effort throughout the year.

While this is obviously a team effort, it does take the dedication and leadership of an individual or groups of individuals, to make consistent and conspicuous contributions to PVA Mission: ABLE.

Two PTG employees were clear “first among equals” when it comes to ensuring the continued success of the PVA Mission: ABLE donation effort: William Hensley and Jami Thacker of Premier Truck Group of Knoxville.

Please join us in congratulating both Jami and William for their efforts in PVA Donation collections and continuing the donation collection throughout 2017. They each received a letter of thanks and a Limited Edition serialized Premier Truck Group Challenge Coin.

Group team of well-respected men and women willing to go the extra mile to make a difference in the industry. Each member represents their department and gains the respect of current and prospective customers on a daily basis. Striving to continually improve the service provided to the customer, working hard to accommodate an atmosphere of professionalism and consistently serving the internal and external customers of the company - these are just a few of our favorite aspects about our team.

The West Region saw an increase in all areas during the 1st Quarter of 2017. Truck Sales saw an increase resulting in a long awaited profit as orders were placed and equipment was delivered. Parts Sales saw in influx of new customers as well as an increase in orders from our existing family of customers while the Service department found themselves experiencing a backlog of customers waiting to get their trucks in the shop for repairs and/or service. The backlog of service resulted in a team effort between the West Region and our Tulsa location to resolve .........

WEST

CENTRAL by Mark LamontExecutive Vice President, Central Region

I am excited to report we are off to a good start for the year. Wehave several success stories to celebrate in the Central Region.

We were slightly ahead of budget for the first quarter. This was largely due to better than expected truck sales. We sold 227 retail used trucks this year compared to 222 in the same period last year. While we did not sell significantly more trucks, we are no longer taking big losses on the majority of the used inventory. The losses last year were due to a decline in the market values of the inventory we owned. I would like to thank the entire sales staff for the dedication required to help us clean up the aged inventory. We have seen a definite turn in the used truck business. Your efforts are paying off and we look forward to continued growth.

Recently our Ardmore, Oklahoma City and Tulsa dealerships all earned Elite Support recertification. We are all very proud of you. The Elite Support culture closely mirrors what we stand for at Premier Truck Group. We know it takes work to maintain these standards, but the payoff is well worth the effort. Please ensure we embrace the standards and adopt the culture every day of the year.

We had a successful launch event for the New Cascadia at Texas Motor Speedway. We invited key customers to a special event to see the product and talk to factory experts. On the course, the customers were able to experience the way the truck drives and its new safety features, including the unassisted emergency braking event. The feedback on the New Cascadia was very positive. I have never seen so much enthusiasm for a new vehicle. We definitely have the best truck on the road today.

NORTHERN By Tom SephtonGeneral Manager,Northern Region

April 12 marked our 1 year anniversary as part of Premier Truck Group. Time has

NORTHERN

passed quickly and we have seen significant changes in the market during this time.

We will need to capitalize on the multitude of opportunities in front of us to meet our Q2 budget. The highway market remains relatively stable, medium duty affords great opportunity and numerous construction projects have been let in the Province of Ontario. This fits well with our shift in focus to new truck sales to the vocational markets. Newly appointed General Sales Manager, Rob Greene and his team are positioned to penetrate the triaxle dump, mixer and refuse segments. The Western Star line will get increased attention as our sales diversify.

The Used Truck department has seen positive results with greater focus and fresh inventory. Remarketing Manager Rob Nusca and his team are challenged with finding and securing enough inventory to keep up with demand; a huge change from 2016.

The Thomas Built Bus (TBB) line will realize strong results in 2017. New safety options were introduced at the TBB Dealer Meeting in Dallas in April that put this bus at the front of the class. The optional 360 degree camera is a first and has school boards taking notice. TBB Certification of the St. Catharine’s branch will put us closer to a new customer base in the Niagara region. Plans are being developed to service the east end of the province (Ottawa area) in the near future and once complete will give us full coverage of the province.

We launched our new phone system in early May at the Mississauga location. It is expected to increase our overall customer service levels substantially and allow us to centralize a Parts Call Center in the future.

Q1 finished strong and we anticipate the momentum to carry through the summer.

We have purchased several New Cascadia tractors and M2 trucks as customer demo vehicles. The Cascadia is equipped with the DD15 Engine and DT12 Transmission. The M2 has the new Detroit DD5 Engine. We delivered these trucks to customers to operate. Our objective is to have our customers operate our new product in their business. We feel confident the investment will help us sell more trucks this year.

Industry experts predict truck orders will continue to pick up throughout 2017 and will lead to growth for the next 12 to 18 months. Estimates indicate production to be up 18% in 2018. Between having the best truck on the road and providing excellent service, we are poised for success. It is important we embrace the opportunity and focus on our customers. Thank you for all you do. It looks like it is going to be a great year.

Thanks to all in the North Region for your efforts. We are seeing and hearing the results in the marketplace.

Odessa/Midland Honors Team Member Mike BrownPremier Truck Group of Odessa and Premier Truck Group of Midland lost a valued team and family member to cancer at the beginning of March. Mike Brown worked in the Parts department at the back counter providing support for our Service department. During his extended illness, the community service committee held several fundraisers, including a bake sale, Valentine’s Day candy bouquet sale, and Wear your Jeans to Work Fridays, to provide a little monetary relief for the family. On April 1, the committee held a car show benefit and had a wonderful turnout with tremendous support from the Odessa and Midland dealerships as well as the Permian Basin community. Raffle tickets for prizes were sold at the benefit for two drawings – one the day of the event and one on April 17. All proceeds were given to Mike’s family. Over $5,000 was raised over the course of the fundraisers with the majority of the proceeds coming from the car show and raffles. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to such a valuable employee and beloved family member.

I came to Premier from Daimler Trucks North America, in South Carolina, where I held various roles in sales, remarketing, and pricing. Prior to that I spent over a decade selling new and used trucks for dealers in Minnesota and Colorado. I have spent my first few months at PTG learning as much as I can about our operations, visiting our sales locations and meeting customers. Time flies when you are having fun and it has flown by.

I have had the privilege to work with many fine people in the PTG Sales organization as they have closed sales with some of our

key customers. The East Region successfully negotiated the calendar year 2017 deals with USXpress and Covenant, while the Central Region has closed orders with Western Flyer and Stevens Transport. Congratulations to all involved as this is a victory for all of Premier Truck Group. I visited the West Region and had the opportunity to meet a truck equipment manufacturer that provides a great opportunity for increased sales in 2017 and beyond. Sales results year to date have been aligned with last year while the overall market is down slightly, meaning we are making inroads and increasing our market presence.

The PTG Remarketing team had a strong sales month in March. Coming off a difficult market, the team has been highly focused on maintaining a healthy inventory level, managing the aging of our inventory and proactively purchasing desirable trucks to sell into the growing pre-

owned market. Our team is preparing to acquire and resell several fleet trade packages associated with our successful new truck orders from March. I am excited about the plans to proactively approach our markets to find new owners for these late-model trades.

Our Finance & Insurance (F&I) team continues to provide a high level of support for our new truck and remarketing teams and is a key contributor to PTG’s sales success. The F&I group assists the Sales teams on each deal and the finance solutions they put in place are often the reason we succeed at winning the order versus the competition. One of the highlights of my first month and a tremendous success for our entire organization was the New Cascadia Market Launch event, hosted by PTG at the Texas Motor Speedway. Top Achievement Remarketing Awards 2016

In 2016 the cyclical nature of used trucks put our Remarketing team to the test like no other year I can remember in my 30 years in the industry. Our team worked hard; pushing to get an oversupply of used trucks sold in a market that had little demand and relentless depreciation. I’m very proud of the results we had as a group and I’d like to thank the entire team. While everyone did an outstanding job,

I’d like to recognize Premier Truck Group’s 2016 Top Achievers. They did a tremendous job and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Premier Truck Group continues to expand and next year’s awards will include our newly acquired dealers in Canada.

In March, some of our employees had the opportunity to volunteer with Tulsa Habitat for Humanity. We helped demolish the inside of the house, which was built in 1930, so you can imagine the mess that we were in. Once the house is complete, it will be gifted to a family of six.

Volunteers: • Danny Juby • Kelli Flatt • Jose Alvarado

There are two more opportunities this year for those who were unable to join the first event: Saturday June 17th and Friday September 8th.

What is Habitat for Humanity? Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in nearly 1,400 communities across the United States and in approximately 70 countries around the world. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Habitat works toward our vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with people and families in need of a decent and affordable home. 5

The Food Drive ran from March 16 - April 13, with a total of 18 boxes being filled, totaling about 700 lbs. in food donations. Our team really pulled together and made this an event to remember!

PTG of Amarillo recently participated in the 3rd Annual Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. We partner with One Chair at a Time to raise funds to purchase specialized wheelchairs for student athletes. This is such an amazing cause that we are very proud to partner with each year. We played Bruckner’s and although we didn’t win, we had a blast!

accounts for this year. With what we’ve sold through February and including our backlog, we have already achieved 64% of our total budgeted new truck sales for the year. I’m counting on the team to outpace our budget and the overall class 6-8 market like we did last year.

I also proud about a few other new initiatives we’ll launch this year as we continue our efforts to be the employer of choice within our industry. We launched our first employee engagement survey. It is important that we hear from each of our employees on how we can make Premier Truck Group a better place to work. In July we’ll launch a leadership training course, titled APEX for those within our organization that have taken on leadership positions. These two initiatives come on top of our first enrollment class for the North American Dealer Association training program.

Thank you to everyone for your hard work. See you soon.

an issue that would have impacted the customer. The end result was customer satisfaction and this accomplishment shows the success of our Employee Sharing Program. The Employee Sharing Program has afforded the West Region the opportunity to work with our Tulsa location in utilizing their team of Service Technicians working in the Odessa location to help alleviate the backlog of service work. The team consists of 6 technicians working a rotation of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. This program proved to be hugely successful, with the goal of eliminating a staggering amount of long wait times, resulting in a positive experience for our customers. It has given the employees of both regions the chance to become better acquainted and learn more about the extended Premier Truck Group team. It is reassuring to know that the process of locating, interviewing and hiring additional qualified Service Technicians for the Odessa location is being done without compromising the service that our customers have become accustomed to receiving. We would like to thank everyone involved in this program. A special thank you to the team of technicians traveling from Oklahoma to Texas: Tim Watson, Randy Sporleder, Ryan Ireland, Chad Cole, Aaron Galey and Jess Johnston. The West Region sincerely appreciates the time and effort you have put into making this program so successful.

This year, we anticipate with excitement the increase in oilfield activity in the Odessa location and an increase in the vocational and agricultural industries in the Amarillo location.

Thank you all for all you do.

WEST REGIONWEST REGION

Hello to all of our great Premier Truck Group employees! As we have wrapped up our first quarter, I would like to highlight some of our key accomplishments so far this year and some of our upcoming plans.

• Employee Retention - Our objective was to end the year with turnover of less than 20%. I am very pleased to share that we are currently at 18% which represents one of the best results in the entire Penske organization.

• Benefits - Earlier this year we concluded our biometrics testing process which helps all of us keep healthcare costs under control. Over 85% of you participated in this effort. Today 78% of our employees participate in our health care programs and 74% in our 401(k).

• Training - We have now concluded two weeks of the six-week NADA/ATD Program with 15 of our managers participating. For July we anticipate rolling out APEX which is a 3 day leadership and orientation program for our newly-hired/promoted supervisors. Nearly 30 managers are scheduled to attend our first program. We will continue to add to our training efforts so that all of our team members have an opportunity for self-development.

• Employee Engagement Survey – We have concluded our first employee survey designed to allow all of our employees to share their thoughts and ideas on how we can make PTG the employer of choice in the retail commercial truck industry. Your opinions continue to be valued and appreciated.

• Top Tech Program - We have already had three planning meetings designed to make our second annual Top Tech Competition even better than last year. This year’s event is scheduled in Dallas on November 4, 2017. Once again we encourage all of our outstanding technicians to participate in the written exam culminating in the ten winners from our four regions participating in the National Championship event. Details will be communicated shortly.

As a reminder, our “doors” are always open. If you have any concerns, please reach out to your respective managers or HR Representatives. You can also reach me at 972-225-7717 or [email protected]

Here’s wishing each of you a great summer!

Hello,

My name is Dana and I am a Parts Supervisor at Manitoulin Transport and I need a favor from you please.

Would you be able to forward to your Director of Sales a big thank you for Jeff Gilmer, our Sales Rep in Mississauga?

I know him for years and his service is beyond any limits, he basically has his cell phone glued to his head and always replies within seconds, and we get our parts in time, when it’s emergency, he leaves everything behind and brings anything from a screw to radiator, so our trucks can go back on the road. Always works early/after hours, we run 24/7, on weekends he delivers as well.

Today I came to work and our experienced engine mechanics working on difficult project yesterday told me: "Dana, please make sure, you tell Jeff's boss he is AWESOME, we got everything we needed!"

He is so advanced, computer savvy, plus a great, shy human, I have a young son and if my son turns out like Jeff, I would be only happy! We have never heard a No from him.

I sincerely think people like Jeff should be appreciated, promoted and rewarded. He works closely with Lisa Clements, what a duo indeed!

Best regards,

I hate to be broken down. But this has to be the best dealership to be at if you have to breakdown. Not second hand couches in a closet here, they have theater seating in the TV lounge. But the poor guy at the window, was very patient with me coming up every few minutes asking about my truck. I wish I caught his name. But the woman (Laurie McManus) who returned my truck to me was nice and patient to explain what was wrong with it. I didn't feel like I was being pushed out so they could move on. Break down is one of those things we have to deal with from time to time. I hope they are all near here.

I had the misfortune to have a problem with my class a motor home. That being said I could not have been more fortunate than to have it taken to Premier and to have Laurie McMannus as my contact there. To say that she and the staff there did an outstanding job does not even come close to the praise they deserve. From 5 minutes after they opened until hours after they should have been done for the day they labored to get my coach fixed and get me back on the road. They had to fix the problems the tow driver caused just to be able to start working on the actual issue and they did it all cheerfully and kept me informed of the status at every step. And when after they finally thought they were done (an hour after their shift was to have been over) the test drive showed another issue caused by the tow truck driver Laurie stepped up and found someone who would fix the leak in my air brakes and made sure everything was done not only to my satisfaction, but to hers. Whenever I read a review like this I am sure it must be a plant or something but I can assure you that the service Laurie and her staff provided was every bit this good and even better.

Premier Truck Group of Ft. WorthApril 11th, 2017

Russell Johnson went above and beyond the Call of Duty in my opinion. I blew a small hose on the side of the road about a hundred miles from home. I was able to obtain the part from a Freightliner in Waco. But by the time I realize I needed a gasket they had already closed. I sent my wife to Premier Freightliner in Fort Worth to get the gasket for me and bring it to me. I called the parts department to ask them to pull the gasket for me and have it ready for her. Russell spoke to a technician in the shop and found out that I didn't need the gasket that there was an easier way to put that hose on. Russell save me about $60 parts and another $50 in fuel. And about 4 hours of my time and a trip to Waco for my wife. Russell also called me the next morning to see if there was anything else I needed. My hat's off for the premier Freightliner parts counter employees. Thank you very much mr. Russell Johnson.

SALES & MARKETINGSALES & MARKETING

US Stores and partnership with DTNA, Detroit Diesel, and Daimler Truck Financial, we introduced over 60 customers to the absolute best truck available. The New Cascadia offers customers a significant improvement in fuel economy, reliability, safety, connectivity and driver comfort and has already received over 10,000 orders nationwide. Each of the customers I mentioned above ordered the New Cascadia! During the event we familiarized our customers with the features, advantages, and benefits of the truck, conducted on-highway ride and learn demonstrations and demonstrated the Detroit Assurance collision mitigation system. The event provided a great opportunity for our team to spend time with our customers and show them how our organization can support their businesses. This event was a home run. Hats off and many thanks to our marketing organization for setting this up and to our entire team for pulling it off.

So what’s next? Over the next few months I will continue to travel and visit our locations, and meet our teams and customers. PTG will be hosting advanced vocational sales training with representatives of each of our sales locations attending and sharpening their skills. We will hold round two of our New Cascadia market launch event in Canada to support our North Region sales efforts and interface with the great customers we have there. The Sales, Marketing and F&I teams will continue to be laser focused on meeting the needs of our valued customers and introducing new customers to the benefits of working with Premier Truck Group.

I drive a new 2017 Freightliner Coronado and blew a front wheel seal. Freightliner changed the retainer ring and the dealer didn't have the part in stock. The closest part was in Dallas and they had it shipped to them as quickly as they could. I was treated very well and they did the work as quickly as they could. I was very impressed with the facility as well as the people that dealt with me. Everything was dealt with in a professional manner and as quickly as they could do it. Thank You Premier Truck Group for handling this with courtesy and professionalism.
