Positive Postcards Terms and conditions 1. KidsMatter Australian Primary Schools Mental Health Initiative has been developed in collaboration with beyondblue, the Australian Psychological Society, Principals Australia Institute (PAI) and, with funding from, the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing and beyondblue. 2. The Positive Postcards campaign is being administered by PAI on behalf of the partners. PAI will act as an ‘agent’ between the entrant and public during the campaign. 3. The KidsMatter Primary Positive Postcardscampaign is a free non-profit competition. There are no entry fees and no remuneration for entries. 4. The purpose of Positive Postcards is to: encourage children to articulate/illustrate what it means to feel mentally healthy give schools access to a low cost promotional tool that helps to build a positive school community. 5. Instructions on how to enter and other information contained within the promotional advertisements form part of these terms and conditions. Entry into the competition signifies acceptance of these terms and conditions. 6. Entry is open to primary school children in Australian schools participating in KidsMatter Primary. ‘Participatingmeans that a school has completed Getting Started training. 7. All submitted entries must include and display the slogan every face has a place. 8. Schools can select one entry per category to send to their state/territory Positive Postcards Selection Committee for judging. 9. After choosing their winning entries, schools must complete one entry form that is submitted to state/territory KidsMatter teams for judging. The completed entry form must be accompanied by: signed permission forms for each entry (available on the website soon) the original artwork. 10. Submitted entries must not have been exhibited previously or entered in any other competition and must be new original designs created by the individual entrant. 11. All designs must be 2D (two dimensional) and no larger than A4 size (297 x 210 mm). Designs can be in landscape or portrait orientation. 12. Designs can be handmade or created digitally using software. All digitally created entries must be submitted in PDF or JPG format and be no more than 10MB in file size. 13. Selected designs will be reduced in size to postcard size (105 x 148mm). 14. Images that are deemed to be unlawful or of objectionable content by the PAI pre-selection committee will not be accepted. 15. By entering Positive Postcards, the individual agrees that the copyright of their entry becomes the property of the Commonwealth of Australia immediately upon receiving the entry. 16. The entrant gives permission to KidsMatter Primary and the campaign partners to copy, reproduce or adapt the submitted postcard for marketing and educational purposes, prior to, during and following the competition. 17. By entering this competition, the entrant agrees that if their postcard is selected, their first name, year level, age and school name may be used for promotional purposes. All other personal information will remain confidential.

18. The entrant, prior to entering the campaign, must gain written permission from any person(s) identifiable in their postcard design, as to being photographed and agreeable to any resulting images being displayed. The consent form is available on the KidsMatter Primary website (www.kidsmatter.edu.au).

19. In the case of minors, as the identifiable subject

in submitted images, the entrant must gain written proof of permission from the minor’s parents or legal guardians to have the images submitted in the competition and being used by KidsMatter Primary.

20. By entering the campaign the entrant warrants that:

a. the entry is an original work created in its entirety by the entrant; and

b. the use or reproduction of the entry by PAI will not infringe the copyright or any other intellectual property right of any third party.

21. All entries must be submitted either by email or mail by last post, Friday 13 September to:

22. PAI will not be responsible for misdirected mail,

lost or late entries. Late entries may be allowed at the discretion of PAI.

23. Submitted artwork will not be returned to the

entrant.

24. The decision regarding which postcards are selected is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

25. Category winners will be announced by Friday 18 October 2013 on the KidsMatter Primary website. The selected students’ schools will be contacted and informed.

26. Prizes will be awarded to one entry in each state/territory in the following categories:

a. Junior Primary (Kindergarten to Year 3) b. Upper Primary (Year 4 to Year 7)

27. Prizes will consist of:

a. the student’s school will receive 1000

printed copies of the selected postcard

b. the student will receive a KidsMatter

pack and certificate

c. all selected entries will be published

and promoted on the KidsMatter

website and in state/territory

enewsletters.

28. Following the campaign, any school can opt to print their students’ postcard designs. These can be ordered through KidsMatter at a cost recovery price.

29. PAI reserves the right to request category winners to participate in any publicity associated with this promotion.

30. PAI shall be under no liability whatsoever for personal injury howsoever caused, nor for the loss of or damage to exhibits or other property of the entrant, his/her servants, agents, invitees or licensees howsoever caused.
