3. Stadium Overview Pitch Status

Pitch:

•The pitch has been laser – levelled in December 2008

•The grass in problem areas have been replaced

•The re-seeding for the winter season will take place in March 2009

•The pitch has been recently been used for a Super 14 rugby game [14 February 2009]

Legal and Compliance Milestones

The following milestones were achieved to date:

•Host City By-Lawso By-Laws were approved by Council in November 2008 and sent for

promulgation and publication in the government gazette in December 2008•Legal Compliance

o Ongoing provision of guidance to cluster managers, in interpreting and understanding the Host City’s role in terms of the Host City Agreement , its addendums and or guidelines

o Scheduled workshops with different cluster to discuss in detail roles and responsibilities matrices for different clusters

•Environmental managemento We await the national launch of the Green Goal Logo and programme by the

LOC together with DEAT so that we can roll out our awareness campaign in this regard

o The City has intensified it’s environmental protection through it’s participation in the Green Goal programme and the Environmental Management score card has been developed in this regard.

A city decoration specification document has been designed for:

•Advertising•City Branding•Billboards•Banners •Flags

The following are established and the process is on going:

Main routes from airports, railways stations, hotels to World Cup venues, CBD and tourist sites, Actual tourist sites, railway stations, airports, CBD, main railway station, World Cup venue precincts•Geographic location of priority areas for FCC and 2010 in terms of Flags, Banners and Billboards•Quantities and dimensions of flags, poles, banners and bill boards required•Assessment of the quantity and design of flagpoles done

City Cleansing, Neatness and Maintenance

A template has been designed (60 m) by CoT Environment for costing and adjustment budget purposes which include:

• Street furniture• Street lighting and lighting requirements for CCTV Cameras• Paving• IconsInteraction with CoT Waste Management indicated the following requirements:• Pole Bins• Swivel bins• Bulk Bins/Skips• A presentation was arranged with Environmental Solutions a Company specializing in

meeting Green Goal objectives.

IT & T Smart City

Smart City

•Smart City project is a combination of multiple projects that are designed to improve service delivery by City of Tshwane to its citizens

•The project is under assessment from the new Project Manager

IT & T CCTV

Status• There are currently 68 cameras in the CoT CBD, which are leased • Expansion of CCTV to be concluded on current network for additional 68 cameras• The objective is to have surveillance at the following areas :

o Venue Specific Hotelso Public Viewing Areaso Loftus Precinct o 2 Training Venueso Regional Transportation Hubo Transportation Routes and Gateways

IT & T New Media

New media consists of the following projects:

• Website Banners - to advertise the CoT on other websites with high traffic• Information Kiosks - will be placed in public areas for visitors to have information

on activities during the event• Website - is live and is being updated on an ongoing basis• CoT video - for Tourism and exhibition purposes• SMS/MMS campaigns - text message to update events to citizens and volunteers
