2. INTRODUCTION > HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEMS

Recovery Methods

Recovery is possible from the kiln, obtaining it from the smoke and the cooling exhaust air to be reused on spray dryers and dryers, in the grinding mill process heating, by two methods:

• Direct Recovery• Indirect Recovery by Heat Exchangers

• Direct v.s. Indirect Recovery (main differences)

• Direct Recovery the hot air from the Cooling Zone of the Kilns is properly transferred, thanks to the proper engineering of a set of valves, pipes, pipelines, and control instruments to the users (Spray Driers, Driers).

• Indirect Recovery is applied in the recovery of the smoke side, because the fumes have a load of pollutants, that contains aggressive chemical agents. In this case, the recovery is made thanks to a Heat Exchanger enginereed by Poppi Clementino Spa; it is equipped with an automatic cleaning systemand its operation avoids corrosive condensations and occlusion either on the air side or in the smoke side.

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS / BENEFITS to the Palm Oil Mills [Pag 1 / 2]

Thanks to the installation of our proprietary technology <Plate Shaped> Heat Exchanger, the following Solutions can be achieved:

1 - Generation of a continuos flow of clean air, at high temperature that can channeled back to the main

combustion fan of the Boiler, to facilitate the main combustion chamber.

2 - Generation of a continuos flow of clean air, at high temperature that can channeled to a rotary drier,that will be installed upstream the Boiler. The function of the rotary drier, it will be to dry the fiberbefore that they will be used to feed the combustion into the Boiler (average humidity 20% > target 6% > by getting rid-off this big part of the total humidity, the whole efficiency % of the systemwould improve drammatically).

Thanks to the installation of our proprietary technology <Plate Shaped> Heat Exchanger, the following Solutions can be achieved:

3 - Generation of a continuos flow of clean air, at high temperature that can be channeled back as

a source of pre-heating of the Water Tank located in the top of the Boiler. Such a concept,would drammatically increase the efficiency of the whole system %, either allowing to consumeless fiber in the combustion chamber and also, allowing to increase the total Volume (output)of the Steam generated by the Boiler (consequent drammatic increasing in the production capacity of the Palm Oil Mill as a whole).

4 - Possibility to install a Steam Turbine (downstream the water tank) for the generation of Electricity.
