Season's greetings and a huge thank you 2012 has been a hectic and exciting year at Poached, full of fresh talent, ideas and projects we are proud to have worked on. So we’d like to send a big THANK YOU to our clients, staff, trainees, volunteers and supporters. It’s been a pleasure working with you and we look forward to another action-packed year together. Over the past twelve months, we've been involved in some great projects such as the Freedom exhibition to launch Stop and Talk with Art Against Knives and Off Centre. We worked with BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra at the Hackney Academy to nurture young creative talent and helped yet more people gain skills for employment through our in-house training and work experience. Meet some of the people we've helped and the people making it all happen . Please read on for a selection of our latest work, and we wish you all a happy and relaxing festive season and every success in the new year. ‘Buy Social’ campaign hits the spot on Social Enterprise Day At Poached Creative, we build social value into everything we do. That’s why we were delighted to get involved in Social Enterprise UK ’s year-long campaign to tell the world that the UK social sector is open for business. The aim of ‘Buy Social’ is to encourage social enterprises to ‘do a great deal’ by buying products and services from one another. Poached Creative ran an interactive workshop with social entrepreneurs and devised and delivered the campaign message and design. The ‘Buy PDFmyURL.com

All Aspects - our unique youth media team

Were excited to be part of the Discover Young Hackney festival again this year We will betraining and supporting a youth-led reporting team All Aspects who will cover the event - providing exclusive interviews breaking newsand unique video coverage The crew will alsorun a workshop to inspire teenagersinterested in creative media careers The AllAspects concept was created by one of ouraspiring young trainees Ondre to give youngpeople practical experience and real careeropportunities in creative media

We have two spaces left on the team for localyoung people to do video editing vlogging(blogging to video live presenting) social media or to be our youth events manager We also need local media mentors to give young people a taste of working in their dreamprofession If you have experience in film reporting editing social media or eventplanning and want to share what you know in a down to earth positive way - then pleaseget in touch It requires little time commitment and can be flexible to your availability Applications welcome but need to reach us ASAP Contact Lara onlarapoachedcreativeorguk for more info

Brochure desig n and content for NHS Summit

Poached Creative designed and created the content for the brochure for the NHS ValuesSummit which was held at Leeds Metropolitan University in November

The NHS Values Summit was an opportunity for representatives from the voluntarycommunity health and social care sectors to debate discuss and find solutions toimprove the quality of services within the NHS and to create a system which waspersonal fair and diverse

Poached and The Albany partner up for Deptford food and culture festival

Its been a pleasure to work with The Albany arts venue in south east London over thepast year on a range of creative and cultural projects such as The Games Through OurEyes a website about the Paralympics from a learning disabled viewpoint Driven by thecultural and creative diversity of the local area The Albany has a thriving artsprogramme a community cafe as well as opportunities to learn or share skills amonglocal groups Involving people through participation and partnerships is central to itswork

We are their online partner for a series of cultural creative festivals designed around thefood and culinary traditions of The Albanys diverse local community in Deptford Weredesigning and building a web platform to promote the festivals and be a lasting space forpeople to connect and share with The Albany Well also be part of the festivals trainingyoung people to be reporters and work with older generations to gather record andshare traditional and loved recipes

Generating ideas for the future of Poached

Poached Creative staff volunteers and trainees recently tookpart in a team away day at Ravensbourne College of Designand Communication The away day was a chance for Jessand the team to brainstorm ideas on how to move forwardand see whether the original objectives for the organisationstill held true The team also enjoyed some fun activities ndashtaking the Emirates Air Line cable car across the Thames and a team-building activityinvolving spaghetti and jelly babies We will be putting some of the ideas into practiceover the coming months so watch this space
