From opportunities for students to work with professional directors to set design workshops we have lots on offer for you and your students this season. Information on all educational activities can be found in Play, but for full show information see our season brochure or visit www.wyp.org.uk.

We run a range of bespoke workshops and you can find information on these under ‘Workshops by Arrangement’. Don’t forget, we are always open to ideas about future projects or one-off activities – please get in touch to talk about ways in which we can support your work. Industry DaysAn introduction to working in theatre. Industry Days include a backstage tour of the Playhouse, practical tasks and a speed-date session with WYP staff. We recommend combining an industry session with seeing one of our productions.

Turning PointsThese sessions develop students’ play making skills through in-role workshops. Students steer the journey of our characters encountering moral dilemmas and challenges along the way. Turning Points sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of your group.

An interactive event for young people to find out more about working in the theatre.

This event is run in partnership with Leeds city college and the National Skills Academy for creative and cultural Skills.

Go CriticalTuesdays 16, 23 and 30 November, 5pm – 6.30pm Tuesday 7 December 7pm – 9.30pmFor students in Year 11 and above£2 per session

creative education is looking for young people to form our Go critical Team. The participants will attend sessions at the Playhouse focused on how to write reviews and then attend the press night for our christmas production A christmas carol. Participants will then submit reviews for publication on our website and in First Floor.

Suitable for young people who have a keen interest in or who are studying theatre and live performance. Please contact Jessica for more information.
